What were some of your favorite anime openings of 2022? For the most part, I thought that 2022 was pretty lackluster until for the first 9 months with like one or two good songs each season before the Fall season hit us with a ton of bangers. The three that I loved the most from this year were the openings to Urusei Yatsura, Akiba Maid War, and Overlord IV.

I personally don't really care for the Overlord 4 OP and only 2 anime openings from this year really stick out to me.

The first of the two is the opening for Ya Boy Kongming! I couldn't tell you a thing that happens visually in it but the song was a bop I think it just had the characters dancing but it was such a bop that I recall it still.

The second opening that sticks out to me and my choice for the best opening of the year is Pokémon Journey's 4th opening specifically the Japanese version I've not seen the English version and how they've randomly chopped it up but I can guarantee it's not handled as well as the Japanese version is. The song is the 4th version of 1 2 3 this time sung by the voice actors for Ash and Goh the opening has a ton of things is does and it really has to work to get everything into it with only a minute and thirty seconds, the first 3 openings for Journeys all had a good portion that felt like it was in no rush where this 4th opening animation just has to go full speed for almost it's entire run time calling back to how the previous Journeys openings handled things while also showing what the characters would be up to and not to mention all the returning characters it hypes up. I honestly feel like I'm doing a terrible job describing how well the opening does what it set out to do but in terms of opening animation it's the best opening Pokémon has ever had and it's not really close.

I don't really keep up with seasonal anime but this is a banger



edit: literally just realized sonic already said this lol... I dunno. I haven't really watched much of 2022. Bocchi the Rock's OP is good but I wouldn't really be willing to put it over much else.

Tbh this season has been pretty bleak but I found a very nice gem! While I love the first op to this anime the 2nd one is honestly hype af because the final arc is godtier

I completely forgot that Mob Psycho 100 had a 3rd season when I posted since I hadn't watched the show yet and only seen it once but One is a great opening just like the other Mob Psycho 100 Ops I feel like there are tons of details my brain hasn't noticed in the animation yet cause so much is happening and I love when so much is happening that I have to keep watching an op to try and find all the details. Also shocker the song is a bop lmao.

A good question. I don't watch many shows by release (other than what I randomly stumble upon) so I don't have that many to pick from. However I definitely like the Bleach Thousand Year Blood War opening. Simple, but did a good job getting me hyped for the continuation as a long time Bleach fan.



The Attack on Titan "Rumbling" intro definitely grew on me as well, even if it's not my usual style in terms of the song, I think they captured the feeling of the show quite well.

Not that many stuck out to me otherwise. My real favorites are definitely further in the past.
