Depends on the mood, really...

For music that really gets the blood pumping for a good exercise regimen, you can't go wrong with most Yakuza tracks. Of course, there's also the Metal Gear Rising soundtrack too.

If you need something more chill, Persona and Atelier have your backs covered. Both being JRPGs, so I suppose peas in a pod for relaxing music.

And if I can just toss a random one in there, Arknights has a pretty incredible soundtrack for just being a mobile game.

As for video game intros specifically, my favorite is definitely Yakuza 4 because it's very clear the vocalist has ZERO idea what he's saying, but he'll be damned if he's not 200% into it.

A good chunk of my music taste comes from when I used to play osu! competitively way back... legitimately a decade ago... but I don't really think that counts since that game has music from literally every walk of life.

Honestly game music that use licensed music… I would say Tony Hawk Pro skater 1, 2 and bit of three since they’re classics to begin with and been on my playlist for years.

Something more obscure would be like Juiced soundtrack with some some being quite bangers and nostalgic for me.

For actual video game music, I would say Street Fighter 2, especially Spain stage with the upbeat music or Vegas theme. Sagat’s theme is pretty cool too with it being more unhinged with the off beats but works so perfectly to portray the mini boss.

Space harrier has a banging soundtrack and outrun too if more in tune with the 80s wave from sega. Both of them being my favorites and a once in a while listen whenever I have an itch.

I have a lot of soundtracks I like from video games.

I love Mega Man 7's soundtracks. The tunes are just awesome. Especially Freeze Man's, Cloud Man's, Turbo Man's, Slash Man's and Bass's theme.

Mega Man V for Game Boy. This is another one of my favorite soundtracks the music goes very well with the game.

Mega Man X3- This is also one of my all time favorites. The tunes are just amazing and I just love to not move and listen to the tunes.

Mega Man X2- Another sound track that is good. You just want to listen to the music sometimes.

Yoshii's Island SNES- These sound track has calming and relaxing music. It is so easy to be thinking about the music and get hit or fall into a pit.

My favorite video game osts will almost always be soundtracks which either get me pumped up cause those will always be the songs I think of first so I'll go ahead and highlight some of those.

Starting with my favorite video game soundtrack Persona 5's not all hype tracks like Minuano mentioned they can also be quite chill but there are very few songs that will get my blood pumping the way Life Will Change does that song is just the best I know I've talked about it many times in previous post the past several years so I'll leave it there. Take Over also gets me pumped I never knew how hype drum beats at the start of a song could be but it's the only battle theme in games I can't imagine ever getting sick of even if I'm only out of battle for a few seconds hearing those drum beats leading into the music gets me right back to bopping to the song.

This might be premature since I've not beaten the game or heard nearly all the songs in the game yet but I think I'm confident in saying The World Ends With You has one of my favorite soundtracks in gaming since every song I've heard has been at least a 4 out of 5 for me with my favorite being Calling something about that song is just addictive.

I struggled in my head trying to decide if I wanted to talk about Xenoblade 1 or 2's soundtrack and I decided to go with the one that introduced me to the series Xenoblade 2 with it's mix of songs fitting just about any mood you could ever want.

I just said screw it with this one so the Dragon Ball Z Budokai series cause regardless of it being 1, 2, 3, shin, another road, or Infinite World the songs are amazing and my favorite songs in a fighting game without a doubt. Just ignore the fact that the songs are plagiarized.

Since I'm just going all out on the nostalgic soundtracks for myself I have to talk about Mario Kart Double Dash maybe my favorite multiplayer game of my childhood and one even to this day I would argue competes with Minecraft for that spot and that's definitely helped by it's amazing soundtrack that fits perfectly with each track Mushroom Bridge/Mushroom City is a favorite of mine that track was always one of my favorites to race on in a game that doesn't really have a bad track and the bopping music it has just adds to the fun!

I can't end the post without mentioning Sonic of course so I'll just say my favorite Sonic ost is Sonic Heroes it's just the best Jun Senoue soundtrack it's themes for each of the teams fit them perfectly and the stage themes have a super energetic feel to them.

I had it stuck in my head earlier but I figured it fit here, I like the OG songs used in You Don't Know Jack the Ride as well as the stuff used in Where in the World and Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego, most of the tracks for Where in the USA is on my mp3 player that's how much I like them

There aren't that many gaming soundtracks that I truly love. I love all the Pokemon soundtracks and my favorite soundtrack of all time is from Fire Emblem Three Houses but that's about it.

Other than that, there are a few songs from each of Persona 4, and Persona 5 that I really like and then a few from Hollow Knight and Undertale. It's very difficult for me to find a gaming soundtrack that I really like.

Honestly one soundtrack that’s been going through my playlist is from GTA: Vice City. Fever 105.3 to be exact. Olivah “Lady Killer” biscuit with his smooth voice and never knew how many classics were in the station, especially “Automatic” by the Pointer sisters and “Wanna be Starting Something” by Michael Jackson. Too bad that song has been removed from later iterations due to copyright.

Definitely a recommend.

Since I played Nancy Drew Danger on Deception Island today I went on about how much I actually love the soundtrack to the game and it was part of the reason why I begged my mother to buy a copy online (I'm not picky about what I like the Nancy Drew games have great scores)
