I cleared Final Fantasy on NES with each character at max level, which is level 50. For the four characters, I used a FIGHTER/KNIGHT, THIEF/NINJA, Wh. MAGE/Wh. WIZARD, and a Bl. MAGE/Bl. WIZARD.

Congrats! I've never really attempted to play through the first Final Fantasy but I watched my mom play through most of it when I was little. How hard did you find it playing through the game? Was the Thief useful? I've heard before that the Thief is the worst character class in the first game so I figured I might as well ask how it went for ya.

SonicOlmstead : It went fine. Of course, I had to go to the castle of ordeal to get the tail, then head straight to Bahamut just to get the class upgrade for the Thief into a Ninja. That way he would be worth taking along for the ride since he gets access to more weapons and armor upon promotion.

I only completed it for the first time last year too and you know what, I loved it. Even though I had no childhood nostalgia for it and people are always talking about how it's aged poorly, I was still swept into the large world and gorgeous music and I think it's still well-worth playing today.
