ok well i have been wondering what everyone thinks of these two online systems, which one do you think is better? I own a 360 and ps3 and have not yet made a psn account but have read up on it. PSN seems good because, 1 its free and even after they start the payed service they are talking about all features that are free now will still be free. 2. i like the idea of being able to play with (from my resistance fall of man game)up to 40 people at a time and mag has some ridiculous number. However I also like XBL because my understanding is it has more dlc and i believe i read somewhere about it has more people on it. I have to say they both have their advantages, so what do u guys think?

I've experienced both and I would say Xbox Live for sure. Now if you factor in price, obviously PSN wins there since it's free but if the $50 a year for the XBL service doesn't bother you, than XBL. XBL is just loaded with features and more stuff. Plus XBL has way more original games for download (well over doubled what PSN has) and a far better selection as well (some of the XBL download games are just amazing).

Plus Xbox Live has the Community games which lets anyone with enough skills submit a game to the XBL for others to play and download which allows you to earn money developing games.

Being a college student PSN is my choice because i would rather use the money i have for food rather than gaming. but Davideo7 I didnt think about all of the features that XBL has. My first thought was money.

Well $50 a year really isn't that much, that's less than $5 a month but I can understand that being in college would limit you from affording that. Than again, wouldn't being in college put the PS3 out of your reach since the system is $100+ more than the Xbox 360? When you think about that, the $50 a year really isn't that bad than.

Personally I like PSN better for the simple fact that it's free and I'm really not too familiar with XBL. I'm sure they both have there advantages but I voted for PSN seeing as it's the only one out of the two that I am familiar with. Besides I'm a sony man.

That's the thing, my opinion is an unbiased opinion since I'm not a fan of any single system or company, I respect all game companies and enjoy anything that any of them release so you could say that my opinion is the most unbiased.

Actually the ps3 isnt that much more anymore here is the 360's page on gamestop http://www.gamestop.com/gs/byob/?platform=360
and here is the ps3's http://www.gamestop.com/gs/byob/?platform=PS3
notice that only 2 ps3's are more expensive than the elite.

Definitely XBL if I am not worrying about the price, if I am then I might do PSN... I just think that XBL has a lot more games than PSN.

I think that $60 a year isn't good (XBL). But it has more games. (XBL)
It doesn't have too many games, and there are good ones, but each game takes up almost 1GB. (PSN)

I think PSN is a little better, mostly because they make premium service optional, and still allow people to have buddy lists and communicate with friends online (from what I heard and saw from first glance, at least) without having to pay a fee upfront, so online play is accessible out of the box.

PSN. Mainly cause most of it's features and I'm rather poor. (Well then how did you buy a PS3?!?) I worked hard for it I'd rather be able to buy a couple more games rather than pay for a service that I can mostly get for free with the PS3. I do like the fact that Xbox Live lets you make games though. I don't plan on downloading any games so I could care less about the online library that either have. I prefer actual disks to just digital copies.

I personally own a PS3 and I can say I'm extremely happy with the buy. I looked into getting the 360 but many things turned me away, like the 'Red-Ring of Death'. PS3's don't give you that, and from what I was told this 'Red-Ring' is caused by fan-failures. PS3 has never given anyone a 'fan-failure' thus far, from what I have gathered, so it will also play as long as you want, not how long the console can 'withstand'. 360 has a lot of bugs that are still being fixed, while SONY took an extra year to make sure there wasn't any bugs to deal with. Granted the consoles will still have slight bugs, but SONY took the extra step. And what do ya know, you don't have to 'pay' for a membership with PS3 like you have to with the 360. Membership, along with the internet use, with the PS3 is free of charge and the chatting system is much better, looks and operating-wise. Grab a PS3. She may not have a bunch of games out right now, but it's well-worth the wait and she's durable. :3 Enjoy!

I find the XBL is made a lot better in the communication side of things.
But PSN, being free obviously, also has no limit on internet. Whereas on XBL (not sure if this is just Aus) you can only get on facebook, msn and the XBL site.
