I made a thread like this 5 years ago it was one of my first threads and all this time later I think it's time to once again ask what kind of Sonic game do YOU want for the 30th anniversary of the series? The beloved chubby classic Sonic? The adventure gameplay? The boost formula?

Personally I really hope the rumors are true on Adventure remakes because if they sell well (which they will) we could finally get another game with that gameplay style which I would love and adore after Forces. To add to my hype at least is Roger Crag Smith is finally done voicing Sonic which I don't mean to sound disrespectful but I always thought he sounded like a 30 year old trying to sound cool. More than anything since I doubt the Adventure remake rumor is true I just want a good fun Sonic game if that's the case then I'll love the game regardless of style. (Tho a Mania sequel would also be way past cool if we get more than one game.)

I'm not sure, I've seen so many hacks it's hard to tell what one would want, but then again asking for a hack where we play as any of the freedom fighters from Sonic Underground would be asking for too much (even though we see Sonia in S Factor).


What if they do some kind of Sonicverse game, unless everything that has to do with Sonic is canon (tv shows included, but even I don't think Sonic Underground is Canon, I mean even if the series did end with the main three reuniting with their mother, we would have been left with the question of who their father is)

Please give us the Adventure remakes, I want to pour hundreds of hours into Chao Garden once again. Well, I don't really want to because I have real life and such, but I totally need that game to be out there tempting me xD

Honestly, the Adventure remakes would make sense. As far as I'm aware, it's the only spin-off of the franchise appearing on consoles that has gotten sequels and even ports to more modern consoles. It would make sense to remake them, even more so due to being the first true 3D games as we know them nowadays of the franchise (Sonic Jam and the like were polygonal 3D of the early eras, only with Adventure did we have true 3D with different camera shots and such).

I don't really see what else can they do for the anniversary. A special edition of the Sonic Racers sounds plausible as its a compendium of all the characters of the series, and maybe we'll get another entry like Sonic Mega Collection or Sonic Gems Collection. But 30 years, entering the fourth decade of gaming, can't just be celebrated with a bundle of classics or a game that isn't a purely Sonic-like genre.

oh, what if they included a mini game that's in the same vein as Bejeweled but we use the Chaos Emeralds (no I am not thinking Mean Bean machine as that is a Tetris style game)

There are like a bazillion things I want but I'll just stick to two

First of all, Adventure 3. yes yes very original I know

Second of all, and this might be a slightly controversial one, I would love to see Free Riders get ported to PC and modern consoles. Preferably without the motion controls (or at least without forcing me to use them). It was a cool game but the motion controls kinda wrecked it.

I'd like to see more games in the Sonic Mania format.

Davideo7 : Since you would want more games in the Mania format what Zones would you wanna see in said game?

funguy161 : I think I've over the years have gotten to the point where I'm not even sure if I really want Adventure 3 or well a game titled Adventure 3 because I don't trust Sonic Team and Sega to deliver what everyone would want I mean my own wish list when it comes to what HAS to be included in Adventure 3 would look something like...

-Jun Senoue as composer
-New main theme from Crush 40
-Shadow's character being done right
-Tone fitting to that age of Sonic
-Writing that will take itself seriously
-Chao Garden
-Multiple gameplay styles
-Little references that tie the game into the previous 2 (and maybe a reference here and there to Heroes)
etc...

I just know it would disappoint me at this point and after Forces I don't wanna be disappointed again. I'm not sure how controversial a Free Riders port would be but I'm all in I love the first 2 Riders games and I would love for the chance to play the final game in that series.

EX Palen : If they do another Mega Collection type thing and don't include Heroes I don't even want it all the other games I would ever want to play have been ported except Heroes I hate that for my favorite Sonic game I have to play a 2004 PC copy with a widescreen hack to get it to kinda work.

A good game.


Though those who like Forces that's perfectly fine.

I would like a Sonic Adventure 3 or Sonic Generations 2. Alternatively, they could just remake Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, preferably with an expanded Chao garden.
