Let's welcome SonicOlmstead as the new Admin for the first half of 2021. The other 2 Globals decided not to run for Admin position so SonicOlmstead will be doing this alone for the next 6 months.

Well, surely not the way anyone would like to be promoted, but it has happened anyway so let's make the most of it.

Congratz on the promotion! Hopefully it won't be too big of a workload to pull out all by yourself, but in case it is, I can lend a helping hand whenever you need it.

Quite a nice username color you picked there, I wish I could finally decide on one but I have my hands full with more important stuff even after holidays end.

EX Palen : Yeah I definitely didn't wanna go from getting one vote to being the only one who applied but even with the bigger workload than I was expecting I'll do my best and if I need help I'll make sure to ask you.

The username color was something I struggled with this morning in the end idk if it's permanent but as long as I use this profile picture I'll likely keep it since it goes well with it.

Ah, the good ol' days of being an Admin. It's been quite some time for me, but good luck with everything!

At times I miss it, maybe one day again down the road. :/

geeogree : I tried a couple colors before this and each one I just instantly knew wasn't the one I wanted to go with but this one the longer I have the more I like it and on top of that the only other person I can think of with orange is Boured so with it being unique I'll likely keep it also thanks! and that is true I'll take winning by default over never winning.

Randy53215 : Completely out of nowhere It's been cool seeing you around a little more, even if it's hardly ever. You should definitely join one of our gaming streams someday, or maybe even participate in one of our Minecraft tournaments, assuming you play it? It'd be cool for users to have interactions with the user who helped me set this variation of Vizzed Board up 16 years ago.


SonicOlmstead : The forum activity isn't that high so it shouldn't be too much of a problem I don't think. It'll probably be just this month where you'll have your hands full due to the Tour de Vizzed. I can also use this as an opportunity to step it up and help out more as an admin.

Davideo7 : I guess the activity point is true I'm hoping that the site can keep some higher activity outside of tdv this time but I'm not holding my breathe so I think a lot of what I try to do might be more behind the scenes in terms of what I do as an admin.

I've never played Minecraft, I'm more into Steam games when I even have the time for it. Such as Civilization and whatnot.

It's been fun to poke around and see some old faces along with new. I just did the math and I'm pretty sure SonicOlmstead wasn't even alive in the first rendition of Vizzed's Acmlmboard. lol Geez we're getting old. :O

Randy53215 : That really puts into perspective how old this site is getting. This version of the board is over 16 years old, there's not many forums on the internet that have been around that long without some form of reset. A lot of history on this site and for once I'm talking about the forum and not the Retro Game Room lol.

It's crazy to see how different the site looked way back then compared to now I've always liked how the site has looked from back when I signed up but I can appreciate how it's changed over the years now as well.

SonicOlmstead : That's not even the oldest snapshot of it. I love to use web.archive.org.

This site has gone over many versions. David has really done himself well, it's been great to see his programming excel through the years. I miss it but I don't do much coding anymore, and I'm willing to bed the markup and technology has far advanced. I'd be starting over at this point. lol

Randy53215 : I haven't heard from him in probably over a decade. It really is sad to see veterans disappear like that forever. That's exactly why I wanted to do a "Where are they now?" video series, with you being one of the first I interview.

That might've been one of the first pictures of myself I shared with the Vizzed community. I believe I'm 18 in that picture. Long time ago lol. Fun fact, the person in that picture to my right (that is cut off, but you can still see her hair) is my wife (my girlfriend at that time). Don't think I've ever mentioned that before. In fact, it was taken in her bed room and that I believe is a Linkin Park poster in the background lol.


SonicOlmstead : I think nostalgia always makes us like the first version of anything we've ever seen. I've been meaning to make the different variations of Vizzed Board available as a selectable theme. Of course it's not going to have the original layout for technical reasons but as similar as I can get and with the same color scheme.


Randy53215 : Thanks I basically rebuilt the entire site from the ground up. The majority of the pages on this site use the new site code, which is almost entirely coded by me. The new site code (and migrating almost all of the pages to the new site code) has been a 5+ year long project with probably nearly 10,000 hours invested. Coding is so time consuming and one of the least rewarding skills to have. It's a powerful skill since you can bring to life anything you can imagine but it's one of the least rewarding because the amount of work that is required is almost never fully appreciated because most have no idea how much time goes into it. There have been times where I've invested 100s of hours into a script and have received little to no feedback. But then when I go to make a video that takes 1/10 of the time, I get far more feedback and appreciation.

I know I'm super late (like...two months lmaoo) but congrats to you sonic for being an admin this term. It's been nice seeing a rotation of admins helping out, and I hope you've been enjoying your role.

And I like your color too, kinda a mix between global and david's haha.
