Y is for a specific bug flying type called Yanma.
I know Yanma isn't exactly one of the best pokemon but it certainly is a charming Pokemon. I myself like it's design whilst a few people I know dislike it with a passion. However just take a moment to reflect on some of the horrors that Game Freak have released and compare it to this now is it as bad? I think not. Yanma may not have the best stats or the most diverse move-pool but it is a nice Pokemon none the less.

Some random information about Yanma :
It's Japanese name is Yanyanma,
It is a Bug / Flying type,
It is the Clear Wing Pokemon Species,
It's height is : 3′11″ (1.19m)
It's weight is : 83.8 lbs (38.0 kg)
It has three abilities, these are : Compound-eyes, Speed Boost and Frisk ( from the Dream World ).

Next letter is Z if I am not mistaken. Have fun!
