"Falling Sand" Minecraft videos are very satisfying. I wanted to take the concept and up it a few levels by using Shaders, Replay Mod (for epic cinematic views) and then giving it a storyline.

I actually built it all on the Vizzed.co minecraft server and then downloaded it after I was done. It was very tricky to make since it's very easy to trigger all of the concrete powder and sand to start falling (I made a lot of mistakes and a lot of backups lol).

I started out by taking a real villager village and then generate a glass cube around it so that there was no free air. Then I had to go into spectator mode in order to analyze and convert all of the blocks to their closest looking concrete powder block. After a lengthy process of manually adding torches to everything and fixing little things here and there, I removed the glass and was ready to start spawning mobs.

The next process was to film my character doing various things and then using the Replay Mod, I would record from all different angles of the chaos. I actually recorded a few variations of the collapse and pieced it all together into a single video.

I had found an amazing song a while back and used that as the starting point for the story. I wanted to make the music lead the story and so it was put together with the music in mind.

I've been wanting to put together YouTube content for quite a while so I'll more than likely be releasing a few more Minecraft themed videos over the next few weeks. Most of them will be put together on the Vizzed.co minecraft server so if you see me on, feel free to say hi

If anyone has ideas for other "falling sand" videos, let me know and I might use the idea.
