hey, guys! i hope you are all doing well! I do not know if you are aware of this, but recently a lot (like a LOT) of different sources are talking about how some classic Mario titles could be returning to the Switch as remastered titles, to honor the 35th anniversary of the plumber's franchise. these titles are most probably Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Galaxy 1 and 2, and Mario 3D World! And they might release a new Paper Mario game as well to commemorate the anniversary.

I really hope for these rumors to be true. i think it would be amazing if they will be releasing all of the big titles on the switch, that way any fan who did not have the chance to play one of the games before but owns a switch has the chance too. besides, Nintendo would really benefit from this no? remastered titles or ports tend to well I guess (in this case they'll be remastered from what I've heard. Even 3D World Switch Port listing was found on E-bay. so it's very possible that this title is coming to the Switch. At least this title is coming if by any chance the others aren't.

How do you feel about this guys? What are you hearing about it? Did you play any of these games? I personally played the Galaxy games, as well as 3D World. I barely had the chance to play 84 on the DS but never had the chance to finish it.

I heard the rumor that a ton of games were going to be released... but until recently, it was just a rumor.

What's giving the rumor credibility is a Best Buy listing for 3D World, which is about as credible as it gets. I never really played a ton of Galaxy or Galaxy 2, so I'm hoping those make their way over to Switch. 64 and Sunshine I've finished, so I doubt I'd have much interest in those unless they were full scale remakes.

I really am interested in what the rumor has been on Paper Mario. Rumor is they want to go back to their roots with the original and Thousand Year Door. I'd love to see a TTYD type Paper Mario, and a Paper Mario HD collection on Switch.

I would love to have mario 64 on switch it would only be the 5th time I would 100% it xD as much as I love playing mario 64 over and over I've never got to play Sunshine so I would be super hyped to finally play it as it is the only 3d mario game I have never got to complete. Honestly just the idea of having all of them on one console sounds amazing even if I have beaten all but one of them 100%.

I would love to see more old Mario games be remastered for the Nintendo Switch! I don't have one, but I know a guy Super Mario 64 is still my favorite Mario game, so that's the one I'd look forward to the most! Seeing Galaxy 1 and 2 remastered would be quite mind-blowing since they were already so huge and advanced.

legacyme3 : yes, the fact that 3D world has been listed on Best Buy makes it very possible that at least this title is coming to the Switch, as a deluxe edition or something of the sort. I'm hoping for all of these titles to come on the Switch (even though I played Galaxies a lot hehe, didn't get tired of them!).

As for Paper Mario, I do not have a strong bond with it yet. The only Paper Mario game i played was the Wii U title (Color Splash if I remember correctly). It was fun but probably not the best RPG i played. I still have to give it a chance, though. Hopefully if some Paper Mario games make it our bonds will deepen

SonicOlmstead : Hehe, playing the same game multiple times, that's a passionate fan in my eyes! I am super hyped for both of them, especially Sunshine since I never played it before, not even once. All of these games coming on one console is so cool, huh?

Pacman+Mariofan : Hehe, ikr?? I really wonder how the remastered Galaxies will turn out. One thing I'm worrying about, though, is the motion controls. I just wonder if they'll be able to apply it to the Joy Cons. Well, it's Nintendo, and I believe in them. I imagine these games will have Odyssey like graphics.



Once again, it is the 35th anniversary of Mario, so it's very likely Nintendo will do something about it. Maybe they would have announced something of the sort at E3, if it weren't for the corona.. they can still do their unique Directs~!

greenluigi : The ball rolling would be quite disappointing with different controls. That's one of the coolest features that Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 both had. Also, when is Super Mario Galaxy 3? XD

Pacman+Mariofan : hehee, i still wonder about it from time to time! if the remasters are indeed on their ways i don't think we will have an entirely new galaxy game in a while. Maybe 1 or 2 more consoles later hehe

greenluigi : Yeah, I doubt there would be a new one. The first two Super Mario Galaxy games cannot be topped except maybe a little with remasters!

I would be very pleased if these classic Mario titles did end up coming to the Switch. The only one I feel would require the most work would be 64 followed by Sunshine. Both galaxy games and Super Mario 3D world wouldn't need too much polishing.

On the note of ports and remasters, I've said it before, but I really want to see Wind Waker and Twilight Princess make it to Switch. They could even throw in Skyward Sword and make it a Zelda triple pack or something. Minimal effort would be needed to bring these over since they were made or recently remastered for Wii U. I just think it would be a shame for good games like this to be stuck on a dead console.

I'd be down with a remake of Sunshine, that game is begging for one as not every kid on the block has a super computer capable of running the game at 60FPS in 4k with HD shaders. Would probably break the internet in a similar fashion to Sans being in Smash somewhat.

SacredShadow : I agree. I can't imagine the Galaxy games needing to be heavily altered. Same with 3D World. However, I was talking with one of my friends on the phone today about how neat it would be to finally see a Super Mario 64 HD remake. The DS remake was pretty cool, but it's quite outdated and I honestly don't care for it that much. I would love to see Super Mario 64's music be remastered!

greenluigi : i heard mario kart 9 coming out this year. i hope they do a remake of super mario bros. up to 3 on switch and make another super mario 3d land or world part 2.

cid789 : Yeah, the 3D Mario quests like Super Mario 3D Land are quite cool, and I think there should be some more.

Nintendo is incredibly lazy, we'll see what they do. I'm sure it'll be a ton of money per game if they actually do this. Regardless, give me Sunshine or give me death. I'd love for them to make it HD. Them destroying the PC SM64 may reinforce the rumors you spoke of anyway.

Frankly I think that it's odd that Super Mario Sunshine hasn't had a remake - it's next in line, after Super Mario Bros was done for Game Boy Color, Super Mario Bros 2 (USA) and 3, Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island were done on Game Boy Advance, and Super Mario 64 on Nintendo DS. I wonder why they didn't do Sunshine for the 3DS? They did remake another Gamecube Mario game, Luigi's Mansion, on that platform.

I think it's crazy how many of these rumors actually turned out to be true months later.
