So after searching the land far and wide, across many pokemon games and video game platforms I feel like most people can at least relate on this. What or Who was your most reliable pokemon throughout the many games? That one pokemon that no matter what, you knew it had your back and just overall felt like it was the strongest one on your team despite still being around the same level and still having its own weaknesses.

Honestly I've always felt this way as far as one singular pokemon on my team but out of every one of them I've had, I would have to say it would be my Flygon from Omega Ruby. Out of all of the pokemon I've felt like I could depend on the most, well, this one was the most mostest I could depend on. Not only being a fairly decent dragon type (Well, lets be honest, are there really any "Bad" dragon types (Cue everyone saying "x is a bad dragon")) it can learn some pretty good moves and has variety. Which I like.

For me the one pokemon that always ends up being my best is of course Greninja. It's never even my plan for it to be the strongest like the thing just always ends up carrying my team. The one time it didn't carry my team was when I had a Chatot named Tom that thing was amazing with chatter. Also I used a Flygon once I have to say it's not that great of a dragon.

Oh it's easily Archeops. That thing is such a monster and acrobatics honestly just kills whatever I'm having trouble with using the rest of my pokemon. Rock Slide and Earthquake give it great coverage too, being able to hit 3 of its 4 weaknesses super effectively. A few months back I played PokeMMO with some friends (it's basically Pokemon but multiplayer, as well as having an increase in overall difficulty, especially gym leaders and elite four). Through our time in Unova I used an Archeops and it hard carried me through the end game, being able to just wipe out all elite four members and the final battles with team Plasma.

It's my third favorite Pokemon behind Furret and Meganium : )

For me, I'd have to say Garchomp, Tyranitar, and Gliscor are some of my most reliable pokemon. Garchomp and Tyranitar absolutely destroy most things, but can also take a hit pretty well and have a wide movepool to provide them with coverage to most things.

Gliscor with poison heal and a toxic orb along with roost, earthquake, and swords dance is also pretty fun.

Honorable mention to Togekiss with the serene grace ability. Used it in competitive battles a few times and gave it a King's rock and it would not stop flinching other pokemon. The King's rock brought its flinch rate up to 60 percent. Crazy.

Ludicolo, as a person who uses Rain Teams, the coverage Ludicolo brings as well as it's overall design to me is one I include in every team I have. Can learn Energy Ball, Scald, and Ice Beam, neat coverage, it's even more reliable with Dynamaxing being a thing.

SonicOlmstead :

Came in here to say the same thing. Greninja is always one of the most reliable pokemon to have on any team, due to his flexibility.

The next one that stands out as really reliable to me is early gen Dragonite. As long as you aren't facing an ice pokemon, typically, you've got the fight in the bag, and if you are facing an ice pokemon... as long as you have the speed advantage, you still have a pretty good shot.

Blissey is always my go to Pokémon. With its high special defense and higher health I usually have a blissey in my team no matter what generation. Tho being biased since it is my favorite....

I'm replying here again because I'm currently doing a nuzlocke of Renegade Platinum, a rom hack of Platinum that makes the game way more challenging by giving gym leaders etc. have competitive teams as well as generally buffing up the usually weak NPC trainers.

I caught a Buneary in Eterna Forest and as a Lopunny it's been the most consistent performer of all my Pokemon. It's outlived a lot of usually better Pokemon and it's managed to survive attacks I never thought it would. I mean it lived a Meteor Mash from a life orb Lucario and right when I thought I won the fight the Lucario used Bullet Punch so it went first, and my Lopunny still lived it on 1 HP.

I loved the Buneary line before this nuzlocke, Mega Lopunny is my favorite Mega, but I love them even more now. Hope she stays until the end of the game.
