Sorry if this thread has been done before but I couldn't find any that was open at least. So what is your favorite season of the Pokemon anime?

For me personally it has to be XY&Z it got me back into the anime for starters as well for the fact that Greninja was my first ever Pokemon and seeing it get a new form along with the the theme XY&Z making all the battles with it intense. I also loved seeing Ash making the finals of a league for the first time back when it happened I was certain he would win I believed with all my heart just to be crushed.

For me it's always going to be the original. When I started watching XY I was hooked after the emotion and cool graphics of the 2nd episode but lost interest after the 10th and haven't watched since. But I can go back and watch the very first 10 episodes of the series and watch them over and over.

I love a good origin story and the OG is by far the funniest too.

For me its the Diamond and Pearl series. Its one of the series i grew up with. The gym battles were amazing and Ash's rivals were great. Overall its a solid series.

Probably black and white, mostly just because it's the one I grew up watching so it's filled with a lot of nostalgia for me i guess would be a good way to put it. Although I will admit I probably wouldn't like it as much now if I re-watched it. Mostly because I've really been enjoying the new series so far so that might end up being my new favourite pokemon series but we'll see. XD

Even though I am a HUGE 4th Gen fan, I've got to say Gen 3's anime was probably the best for me. Can I give specifics as to why I think so? Not really It's been so long since I've actually watched the older animes, but between them all I do feel like I enjoyed it more.

SonicOlmstead : I've always hated the Pokémon anime ever since I was a child, and no matter how much I grew up and changed, my strong disliking for the series has never changed a bit. The humor is obnoxious, forced, and overall severely abysmal. The plots are up to par in terms of being so terrible, being pure random boring garbage, and the characters are especially lame and obnoxious. That being said, while the series has always been bad, as it progressed, it actually got progressively worse to the point that it keeps setting new standards for "bottom of the barrel" quality.

In particular, the X&Y series is the one I hate the most and for two reasons; Ash-Greninja and Amourshipping.

Ash-Greninja generally looks hideous and I can't stress enough how much of a shamelessly asinine idea it is to base a Pokémon after a pre-existing Pokémon Trainer - especially when that trainer gets to use the damn thing. Seeing Ash use the damned freak is extreme narcissism at its ugliest.

Amourshipping could've been okay like the other ships between Ash and his female companions, but the problem is that this one became waay too widespread. Whenever you search for pictures of Serena ANYWHERE, you're always going to see Ash there because of Amourshipping. Amourshipping this, Amourshipping that! It's like the Pokémon fandom primarily sees Serena as "The Girlfriend of Ash Ketchum" and nothing really else. It's to the point where pictures of Serena on DeviantArt are more-so Amourshipping than the fetish s*** the site is notorious for. That's pretty bad!

By the way, when I hit Greninja into Google once, I got similar problems; Ash Ketchum here, Ash Ketchum there. I get that he's the star, but why must I see him THIS much!? It's seriously disturbing! Now that I think about it, Ash himself looks quite ugly, but he's been looking ugly since Gen. 5, and in Gen. 7 and Gen. 8 he looks literally deformed. I'm now really starting to hate him...

In conclusion, I've always hated the Pokémon anime. But the X&Y arc is the one I dislike the most because of the terrible legacies it spawned. Damn you, Ash-Greninja, and damn you, Amourshipping!

I'm still partial to the original series, season 1. I just feel like the stories and lessons from those have stuck with me a lot better than the ones from future seasons (I watched up until Black and White).

I want to watch every episode... but I'm finding that difficult since the Pokemon Company only wants some seasons available at a time.

I vastly prefer the original series and those up to Gen 4, but I do think the recent Sun&Moon series was pretty good. Not up to par with the originals that they made, but they were enjoyable enough. I haven't seen anything of the newer anime though, and I've been meaning to check it out for some time now.

my favorite pokemon anime is one is a story boy who dated a girl from team magma is gen 3 or 4 i don't know but it loves the story of it and it online too. its been on youtube as voice reading now too as well.

When I sit back and remember the days I watched pokemon on TV it started out with season 1 which I got into pretty qukcly for me I love the first season of Pokemon cause why? it taught me a lot of life lessons that helped me and I grew up more. it is still my favourite till this day.

Eniitan : the theme song from season does get stuck in people's head for a couple of days. i heard about it on youtube. it is in the top 10 songs that get stuck into people's head and very catchy too.
