Havent done one of these in a while! lets get this forum lively with some christmas cheer! so guys what are your plans for christmas? mine is to stream christmas games and have a great time with my family! plus we will be playing on my wii so I will be buying batteries from amazon!

My christmas plans are unchanged from other years, I'll be spending three days with my family that will feel like an eternity.

Given the dates christmas falls in this year, I might have lots of free time at home, which will come in very handy. I could probably have the previous weekend all for myself and only mind the family starting the 24th, but it sounds too beautiful to be true xD

Once christmas goes by, things will go on a raise. I'll have a few free days before New Year's Eve and I'll also have my lover's birthday the 28th, so I'll be entering 2020 on a high (if things go well, of course, fingers crossed).

I believe we're eating a taco bake on Christmas Eve. Otherwise, well this is my first Christmas on the east coast. So probably getting snowed in is the plan. At least we have a nice table for presents and such. The Christmas tree actually went up right before Thanksgiving.

Most likely I'm probably planning to spend time with the family which is pretty much just about everything I do on Christmas day. We used to host it at our house, however due to things in recent times we moved it over to my Aunt's house which is perfectly fine with me since it always felt so crowded at my home every Christmas. I might plan to bring my Switch this year and we all can play some Super Mario Party, though nothing new other then that. Just us spending time together and probably watching movies.

This year for Christmas I'm planning a trip to New Jersey to see Spies in Disguise. Going to Jersey to see a movie is one of my 2 Christmas traditions.

My family will probably go to a Christmas party that we all hold every year, sort of a mini reunion of sorts. I like it cause of the food, but the people there are nice as well.

The thing I'm planning on getting for this year is one of those capture cards for streaming games off of my Nintendo Switch.

I got a Twitch set up and everything good to go, the only thing missing is one of those capture cards, once I get one of those, I'm good to start streaming.

Pretty much the same thing I do every year, only this time im working somewhere thats open even on christmas. I pretty much just laze around at home, watching videos and playing games like its any other day. I never have anything special planned because its simply not affordable. I might give myself a small christmas present but I just simply dont do anything compared to the average household.

To update my earlier post, I got a ton of presents for people and probably spent over $200 dollars, which is a bad idea since I'm unemployed. But I just had to send my mom this nice lamp.

I'm staying home and spending time with my family. We used to travel to my wife's family during Christmas but we've had enough bad experiences that we decided that we were going to just do what we wanted and everyone can deal with it. I'd rather not try and accommodate multiple different groups during the holidays and I'd rather just enjoy spending time with my kids instead. It's so much less stressful.

We're reading the Harry Potter books right now and we just finished the Chamber of Secrets and we're going to watch that tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have enough time to get through a lot of the third book while I'm off from work.

Other than that, just sleeping in and relaxing as much as possible.

geeogree : So you read the book then watch the movie? I feel that you've got to be a pretty big Harry Potter fan to do that, I'd probably do one or the other, as redundancy bugs me. I've never actually gotten a chance to read the books though, maybe if you're in a giving mood later, you could let me know how they compare with the movies? I'm mostly just interested in which format you prefer to experience them on an individual basis.

Anyway, Merry Christmas Geeo. Hope you get to enjoy your break for awhile, they always seem to go by so fast.

pennylessz : yeah, I'm a pretty big fan and the girls are loving it.

We also do a whole movie with lots of treats thing when we watch the movie so it is even better that way.

I've always been a "the book is better than the movies" in nearly every case. Sure the movies are well done but they will never match the books for depth and that's what I prefer from entertainment. I'd rather get 10 times more information about a world than watch 2 hours of fluff and not really get into the meat of stuff. Not that the Harry Potter movies are bad for that. They do a really good job of trying to get all the important details in but they still miss things that many fans consider important.

And the real main reason I'm doing this is to spend more time with my girls while they still want me to. They are really enjoying me reading to them and it means spending 30+ minutes every time just hanging out with them and not being distracted by anything else.

I honestly don't have any plans for Christmas at all. For many years now, since 2016 or 2017, Christmas stopped being exciting for me and it just felt like any other day. I appreciate getting stuff yearly on the day and celebrating the occasion, but I'm just not as hyped about it as everyone else is.

Furthermore, I'm actually quite miserable most of the time because of all the damn "mature" content in this Godforsaken world and how hyped up it all is. s*** like No More Heroes, anything Comedy Central-related, anything Cartoon Network/Adult Swim-related that isn't Camp Lazlo (which is actually very great) and to an extent Rick and Morty, anything PlatinumGames-related, all instances of Stanley Kubrick filmography excluding to a very small extent 2001: A Space Odyssey (which, at its very best, is just okay but not exceptionally or especially good), anything Jim Reardon-related (I can't forgive him for making Bring Me the Head of Charlie Brown in 1986. I've been this way since 2016.), A Song of Fire and Ice/Game of Thrones, Bonnie & Clyde 1967 (or those two in general), Titanic 1997, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, literally any YouTube Gamer (because they all like one of the things I mentioned earlier, usually Bayonetta and/or South Park), and this list could go on for literally forever, but you get my point.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone if they dislike everything I mentioned back there. Otherwise, you can all go f*** yourselves! But am I really asking much of this Godforsaken world?
