I mean, the first two games get pretty repetitive. I beat both of them, but heck...I didn't even beat the harder versions of them. I know they both tie into the third one, but they kinda detract from the gameplay, being so similar and all.

I'd say yes if you have an old copy or you can get it for cheap. A couple weeks ago Nintendo had the originals on sale for the Switch and I picked up the 1st for only $4 and I have no regrets but I would hsve never thought of getting it if I had to pay full price.

I think it would be for those who played it from the beginning and stuff. I still plan on playing the retro part of it after all I have only been able to play DQ8 on my ps2 and such but I do have DQ11 for my ps4 which I havent opened up yet cause I am saving that for streaming.

Those games need a remake with some serious quality of life improvements. For example, you shouldn't have to go through a menu just to talk to someone or collect an item! THAT'S how dated the early Dragon Quest games are.

There's also the lack of MP restoration and revival items. And the amount of level grinding required. And the chance of getting annihilated if you go the wrong way on the world map. They're HARD.
