tgags123 : Looks like you will accomplish your goal to get 500 points this month, because all you need is only 5 points, and that will be a breeze for you compared to how you been doing this whole month. The only way that you'll fall below 500 is if you become extremely lazy on the last day. All you have left is one more day, and then you can take a break from posting a bunch of stuff.

As for comparing this TdV with others, to be honest, even the most active day this month alone had more activity than the entire January 2018 & July 2018 TdVs combined.

As for the TdV rivalry you and Furret had, you two had a more heated TdV rivalry than me and Zander had 4 years ago in Winter 2015, although the outcome isn't as close compared to that month

Furret : Well, next TdV (July 2019), I'm undecided that if I want to compete and attempt my 3rd TdV win, but with that being the Summer months, we will have far more competition gunning that TdV win than this month, guess we will find out in July.

Well I believe everything except the White banner is now officially secured. It's been a wild ride for sure.

IgorBird122 : Yeah it's been really back and forth for the entire time we competed. The end result won't be as close but that's mainly because of two reasons. One being the fact that he had a 6 day head start on me, and the other being that the rest stopped competing halfway through. If I had started competing from the start and had zander been able to hold off tgags a bit more in Blue and Yellow like he originally planned to, it would've been just as close.

tgags123 : Congrats on Blue, Yellow, and of course Rainbow! You definitely fought like a beast to hold onto your lead. Really proud of the battle we had.

Sonicmcmuffin : Congrats on the Gray banner! You really appeared out of nowhere to claim that one, and it's well earned too with the great reviews you've been putting out.

I won't summon myself but I'm really happy to finally get my name on the Hall of Fame page. I've gotten 18 Red AND Green jerseys this month (idk if that will go up the last day, we'll see) so for over half the month those have been mine. I've also crushed the record for most points by a runner-up, and if I get 15 points the last day I can push it all the way to 444.

Furret : Thanks man! Congrats on Red and Green, and on the runner-up points record. Definitely a really well-fought battle on your part, thanks for putting the pressure on me to keep competing hard. Would have been a really interesting competition if you had started from Day 1. Over 400 points in 25 days is super impressive.

I'm surprised I managed to leapfrog 2 users yesterday. Hopefully I can hang onto this spot on this last day of the TDV.

tgags123 :

Just meant that you were trying to bump me down from my usual 1st place for Green by competing with Furret- j/k =P I actually haven't been doing a lot of actions compared to what I've been doing historically/all along in the TDVs I've participated in, but I guess I'll take that as a compliment? lol

Although, hm... I'm sure I wasn't the one that made a post surmising that I had it "easier" in the TDV I won... in this thread... near the beginning of this TDV...

But well, whatever.

Even though I do wonder why you even mentioned that if you really felt that those kinds of "comparisons," and "what-if's" and "hypotheticals," and all of that are pointless, I also understand that you're probably not going to answer me even if I ask you to explain that. lol Seriously though, you can't really expect people to not respond to you at some point if you keep talking about them in certain threads, just saying. =P

Anyways, I'm not sure how you interpreted the things I mentioned but I mentioned the Spring 2017 TDV to say that no, things weren't "easier" for me during the TDV I won. Personally, I can't recall another TDV where someone had to deal with trying to compete for over half of the month against a cheater that was DQed only at the very end (in most of the TDVs I recall, people were DQed within a few days after discussions and other things). If you know of another TDV where something like that happened, then please let me know about it, but please note that I never participated in some of the TDVs you did (I hadn't joined Vizzed yet) and thus it's probably not going to be possible for us to see eye to eye on some issues.

Just so you don't misunderstand me, I'd like to reiterate that I don't mind if you disagree with my views and no, I don't think you're trying to offend me. lol We can agree to disagree =P , seeing as neither of us were around for certain periods of time in TDV history. I wasn't around for the VCS and whatever the competitions were in 2014 and you weren't around for some of the most recent TDVs. Thus, I'm fine with agreeing to disagree about the difficulty levels of each TDV and just leaving it at that. Just like you, I'm not trying to insult you and I hope you won't think I'm trying to start something personal either.

Personally, since I didn't participate in every single VCS/TDV since the beginning of Vizzed history, I would be wary of saying things like, "...when the TdV was far more difficult than it has ever been since [some time in TDV history]" but I guess it's up to you if you want to make statements like that.

I'm sure I mentioned earlier that I felt like comparing this TDV to the other ones before it sort of feels like comparing apples to oranges, so you probably already understand that I find the "what-ifs" and "hypotheticals" to be relatively pointless as well, even though they make great padding for higher word counts.

I don't enjoy comparing TDVs because I'm well aware of many of the numerous changes that were made to each one I've participated in, but you stated your viewpoint in this thread that one day, so (in your words) I felt like I had to "counter" that with my viewpoint as well. I also mainly posted to say you probably should have been aiming higher than 500 points and then I tried to fill you in on why. I guess, if you had used an example of another TDV in 2017 to talk about how inactive the TDVs after 2015 were, I could understand that but to me, the Spring 2017 TDV is in a sense, an odd/exceptional case because of the anomaly/cheater that appeared during that one. The fact that he was a cheater that was trying to break the site was already unusual but that he was able to get so far in the competition before he was DQed... that really stood out to me and I don't really think of that TDV in the same ways that I do for the other TDVs because of that.

I guess that of all the examples that could have been selected to talk about the decline in TDV activity, choosing the Spring 2017 TDV was probably not the greatest idea because things that were normally not supposed to happen in TDVs managed to happen in that one. If one wanted to present examples of how "dead" the TDVs have been after a certain point, it would probably have been better to choose any of the ones after the Spring 2017 TDV because nothing truly unusual really happened in those.

Just so you don't misunderstand me, I decided to mention this to you, not to say that whatever records you set this TDV are not going to be legitimate, but that I didn't have it "easier" during the TDV I won, unlike what you conjectured. I was up against a cheater that had no qualms about destroying the site and the databases that most of us have been trying to help build up. I'm not sure how that could possibly be "easier," (I don't even know if something like that has happened on a scale like that in any other TDVs) and I doubt anyone has any idea how many weeks? months? it's going to take to fix everything that the cheater broke. Since you assumed that I had it "easier" in that TDV, I figured that you probably didn't know about what had been going on in that specific TDV, so I decided to let you know. I also thought that it's possible you might also assume that I'd be upset about someone breaking my record but I've been trying to tell you that's not the case.

In addition, I was trying to say I just don't think this TDV is the "most difficult one ever" or that it's "more difficult than the Spring 2017 TDV" (I already mentioned the reasons above) is all. Maybe it's because I've competed against Admins before, but it's sort of hard for me to think of TDVs with no Admins competing in them as being "more difficult" or being "the most difficult TDVs."

Of course, I do have my views on which was the most difficult TDV of all, but that's irrelevant.

What I was trying to mention was that back in Spring 2017, some people that wanted to post were probably afraid to for fear of being DQed, and the ones that posted without caring would more often than not be DQed and taken out of the competition before they could get too far. The rules were stricter in every way possible, so I'm still going to respectfully disagree with you and say that this TDV is "easier" (if you really want to make some sort of comparison for whatever reason). There's a reason the post counts you saw for that TDV were so low. If we were still following the rules that have been used all the way until this TDV, half of the people that were posting in the first few days of this TDV and even you and Furret would probably have already been DQed for various things, even if those things might be considered relatively minor under the current set of rules. I'm sure the rules have been changed to be a lot more relaxed this time to try to address some of those issues, but that's also one of the reasons why I don't think this TDV is "harder."

Certainly, you can take a quick glance at the Spring 2017 TDV and conclude the competition was a "joke" for the Blue and Yellow, and that "if" the cheater hadn't been there (but he was, so moot point), I would have received more points (don't forget that by spending time to deal with him, I lost time to be able to post too so I potentially could have received more points for the Blue and Yellow as well), but the fact remains that most TDVs don't have cheaters like that and a lot of the rules used to be a lot more strict concerning everything from time between ratings to time between posts. Some people stopped posting because of the restrictions and some even started to avoid the TDV months...

As for the things I said, what part of that is theoretical or "hypothetical?" What I said were not "what-ifs" or "hypotheticals" since it's the truth. There is no question that all of those jersey points the cheater stole truly do/still belong to me. It was just my ill luck that the TDV lists could not be adjusted after the TDV to reflect the actual number of points I had worked for and received. Even if I couldn't have them be added back to me after the TDV, the fact remains that they are mine.

Since you didn't seem to know about this (based on your other comments in this thread), I decided to tell you about it. I figured this would be a good time since the record that was listed in that TDV thread was about to be broken. I also figured that if I mentioned the incident and the issues with the points, someone out there might figure out another piece of the puzzle that is the TDV.

Anyways, I really hope you meant what you said when you stated, "I don't mean any offense by this post obviously, so I hope you don't take it that way," because I didn't write/post this to offend you either. After all, I've been cheering for you and Furret and everyone that's been trying to raise the activity levels, and I'm still hoping that we will get to see all of you with a spectacular ending to a TDV that's epic in its own right.

Yuna1000 : I made one post, and it was a response to EX Palen saying that I should try for the record. I said I didn't think I would be able to do it, because of how tough the competition had been up until that point. At the time I had to deal with Furret, zanderlex, Lexatom, and others all competing for points in all 4 jerseys. You had to deal with 1 person competing in two jerseys. That's all I was saying. It wasn't a jab at you. The only other times I mentioned you in this thread were in reference to the record you held, or that I had I work hard to pass you in points for a jersey (which really has nothing to do with you, but more about what I was doing.)

That's all I'm going to say, because I'm really not interested in discussing this any more. I've already made all of the points I wanted to make in my last response to you. And yes, I did mean what I said, I'm not trying to offend or insult you.

tgags123 : Let me be the first (well, first during post-TdV) to tell you.... Welcome to the TdV-winner's family.
Great work on winning January 2019's TdV, and congrats for being the first user to clear 500 points!!

Furret : Don't think that I was only focused on tgags, also great work on your part and getting those Red & Green jerseys as well.

tgags123 wins the Tour de Vizzed!

tgags123 took the lead on day 5 and quickly placed a big gap between him and everyone else for the entire Tour de Vizzed. At no point did anyone come close to him, Furret tried and Furret failed. tgags123 broke a few records, including the only user to break 500 points, the most points earned in a single TdV, and a few others. All of this was extra impressive when you consider how active this TdV was. With the revival of Vizzed recently, we saw levels of competition that we haven't seen in many years and it made for an epic TdV. There was also not a single DQ (except me DQ'ing myself from Green).

This is also the only Tour de Vizzed where I didn't rank in the top 10. I'm not sure what I take away from that but it was a pleasure to sit back and see others battle it out.

This definitely goes down as one of my more memorable TdV competitions

I may have failed to catch up to tgags, but I set a TdV record myself and walked away with two jerseys so I see this TdV as a success.

It was a lot of fun competing for once, but I'm not going to enter the RGR again for a good few months haha.

Furret : You would've won pretty much any other TdV. It's just unfortunate that the TdV that you put the most effort into just happened to be one where another user broke some amazing records.

tgags123 : It was really good to see you finally win this competition. Pacman1755 took us both down in the Summer 2014 competition (which was in your full control at one point) but I went on to win it the following month. It took you nearly 5 years to do the same but you finally did it

In a way that's also very exciting. If I just came in and dominated the first TdV I really competed in it wouldn't have been as fun of a month. tgags was out for blood so going relatively even with him throughout the month feels way more rewarding.

If anything it motivates me to compete harder in the future. I got my first taste of TdV blood and I want more of it

Furret : You definitely didn't make it easier for him. If he had slipped up at any point during the month, you would've closed the gap greatly. The TdV competitions where a single user completely dominates the entire month with no competition are never as fun to spectate. This one was very enjoyable.

geeogree : I kinda feel like you let me have it honestly. If so i appreciate it, and if not i'm pretty sure you can easily obtain it next time.

Might want to get it sooner than later though.. A lot of users are around the 6 year mark

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
