Welcome back to the Annual NFL Pick 'Em League Sign-Up Thread. I know that I'm super late, what with the Hall of Fame game being 2 weeks ago, but I figure that 2 weeks is more than enough time for sign-ups, especially since I've allowed people to join during the Pre-Season, seeing as how it's a "trial time" to learn how to play, and if they want to, they can leave with no penalty.

Now, there were a lot of threads the first time we did this, but mostly because it was the first time I had done this. Now that I have everything figured out, and know what the heck I am doing, you'll see maybe... 5 threads, those being this sign-up thread, Regular Season, Post Season, and then a thread for all season long to discuss things. I like to keep things neat, so that's why the thread for predictions will only have predictions or updates posted in them, and the discussion thread will be for other things to be posted about. No need for a bunch of threads. The site needs activity, and that doesn't mean a new thread every week.

I can't think of anything else that needs to be pre-faced... so now I will post the rules so you know what you will be getting into.
Regular Season Rules:
~If you go 9-7 for the week, that is your record for the week. If you go 10-6 the 2nd week, you will now be 19-13.  
~ If there is a tie, then it will not count towards your win or loss, no matter what. 
~ Deadline to make your predictions will be at noon of the day of the game. If you edit your post after a game has already happened, and I have not documented whether or not you have won or lost the game, you will automatically get a loss for that particular game.  
~ Remember: it will be okay to change your predictions even if you have already posted them, just as long as it is BEFORE the deadline, which I stress again is at 12:00 noon server time ( also remember server time is CST, so this is 1:00 PM EST, 11:00 AM MST, and 10:00 AM PST on the day of the game). Do NOT make a new post if you want to change anything. Just edit your old post, and send thing1 a Private Message, letting him know you made a change, as he'll probably put all your picks into a spreadsheet the night before.
~ All participants will be divided into 2 "Conferences", and then from there, "Divisions". (Divisions will only happen if there are enough people interested in playing this year)
~ There are 2 ways to earn Viz during the regular season: Best weekly record each week and a surprise game being guessed correctly each week.
~ There will be prizes at the end of the regular season based off of your final placings
~ There is no fee required to be eligible for the above Viz rewards each week. 
~ There will be no entry fee this year. 
~ DO NOT PM YOUR PICKS TO THING1! Only PM thing1 if you changed your picks before the deadline, after you had already posted them. They will not count unless they are posted in correct thread.  
~ If you get a perfect record for a week, then you get a Viz bonus. If a game ends and a tie, which gives you a tie for your record, but you would have gotten a perfect record for the week otherwise, you will still get the Viz reward.
~ Division Winners will get a Viz bonus.
~ The player with the best record will get a Viz bonus.
Post Season Rules:
~ Records will be percentage based.

~ If there a tie breaker is needed to determine seeding for the participants who make it to the Post Season, then it will follow normal NFL rules for Playoff seedings, which can be found here. (Use "TO BREAK A TIE WITHIN A DIVISION" and "TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM")
~ There are 2 ways to earn Viz during the regular season: Best weekly record each week, a surprise game being guessed correctly each week.
~ If you have been eliminated from the playoffs, you are not eligible to win any more Viz.
~ There will be prizes based off of your final placings at the conclusion of the Post Season.
~ There is no additional fee required to be eligible for the above Viz rewards each week during the Post Season.

Now, for rules on how to determine who advances into the next round the playoffs each week, and who is sent home packing.
The best record in the head to head match up will win, and move on to the next round. If the records are the same, then it goes to the Tie-Breakers.
1. Each match-up will be given a game to predict the score of, in case a tie breaker is needed. Here is how the tie breakers are going to work:
2 . If the record is the same, then it will go the game given to each match-up to predict in the case of a tie breaker. If both players correctly guessed or incorrectly guessed the winner of the tie breaker game, then it goes to Tie-Breaker 2.
3. The player that correctly guessed the winning score moves on. If both players correctly guessed the winning score, or incorrectly guessed the winning score, then it moves on to Tie-Breaker 3.
4. The player that has the least margin of difference in the prediction of the actual winning team's score will move on. If both players have the same differential, then it moves on to Tie-Breaker 4.
5. The player that correctly guessed the losing score will move on. If both players correctly guessed the losing score, or incorrectly guessed the losing score, then it moves on to Tie-Breaker 5.
6. The player that has the least margin of difference in the prediction of the actual losing team's score will move on. If both players have the same differential, then it moves on to Tie-Breaker 6.
7. A simple coin flip. The higher seed of the two would call it. If they are correct, they move on. If they wrong, they lose. Let's hope it never comes to this final tie breaker.

If there is something you want changed, post it here, and I will consider it.
You have now until 6pm EST on Monday, September 3rd to sign up. (I have a flight, and I should be home by then). After that, you can still sign up, but you will automatically get a loss for every week that you are late joining the party. So, for example, if you join during week 3, you will get 
(Erased all the summons so that I can have a clean list for the people who have singed up)
