Alright, so this will be hosted by me and MattyIce.



The way this will work is each Tuesday or Wednesday, you will post your predictions in a Weekly thread. You will have to predict the winner of each game for the week. ( Reason for only on Tuesday or Wednesday is because there is a game on Thursday, and the Week doesn't end until after the Monday Night Football Game ).



There will be Weekly threads, and there will also be an overall thread.



As for a Prize Pool, me and MattyIce might throw some out personal Viz out there for the Top 3 or something like that, but it depends on the amount of interest this garnishes.



If you have any suggestions, feel free to suggest them.



Also, if you know anybody that might want to sign-up, then give them a summon.

Updates for when the regular season starts: 

~ There will be one big thread instead of a weekly thread, and then a results thread. Best way to describe how it will be run is basically how David does the Tour de Vizzed threads. 

thing1 : Yes. We can do preseason as a kind of test. We'll show others how it will work week to week.

Personal Viz is a good idea for prizes, and we can say how many spots will pay out depending on how many entries there are. I don't have very much Viz right now, but I'm selling some games to David and he's offering me 70k viz, so I'll have some soon.

We can cut off sign-ups after the last preseason game, but I was thinking we could keep it open for whoever wanted to participate. Maybe we can get more entries that way.

I will post the games in their respective thread on Tuesday morning. Its possible I can do it as soon as the Monday Night game is over (depending on how my day is going), but I can guarantee each Tuesday morning. And I was also thinking we could just post the overall scores in the weekly thread. But if you think its better to have a separate thread, we can do that.

MattyIce : that works for me. I can have the Season Thread, and you can make the weekly threads. Fine by me.

As for when we cut off sign-ups, I can we can extend it to Week 5 ( that is when the bye weeks start ), and we would go off of percentage records?

thing1 : I wasn't really planning on cutting off sign ups at all. I just thought that if somebody wanted to join the pool midway through the season, they would start at zero. If you get a pick right, you get one point...simple as that. This way, the earlier you start, the more of a chance you have at winning. But if you have another system in mind, let me hear it. I'm not really a creative person by any means, so I'm open to any other ideas that you or anybody else has to try and make this more fun.

Everything else looks good. We'll simply start at Preseason and go from there.

tornadocam : Pretty much what you just said. 

MattyIce : Well, what I was thinking is that everybody would have a W-L record. If you get a pick correct, you get a win. If your prediction is incorrect, then you get a loss. At the end of the season, the person with the best percentage based record would win. Or, if we have enough people, we could actually do divisions, and have a play-off thing for the play-offs. But, that would really depend on how many sign up in time. 

Davideo7 : Would perhaps be interested in something like this?

tornadocam : We will do a test during preseason. We'll give you the preseason games each week for you to pick. It will show you how this will work on a week-to-week basis for the regular season when we'll officially start keeping score. If you want to participate in this pool, just say so, and will add you to the sign-up list.

tornadocam : Alright. I will add you to the list. We going to hold a test run for the Pre-Season, so people can figure out our system, and see if they want to join. 

thing1 : Ok. That sounds good. We'll do it like that. The only thing is we'd have to come up with a minimum number of games picked. I think there is a total of 256 games. I could be wrong...check my math on that. But if there were 256 games, what would be a good minimum? I'm thinking maybe like 100?

MattyIce : We need more people. 4 is not enough. I would like at least 8, so that we can try the division thing, but 16 people would be perfect ( 2 for each division, 2 leagues, etc. )

I guess I'll sign up for this. It sounds like it should be fun. A quick question, though. Are we going to pick from every game, or just a few select games, so it's easier to find the results and keep it from getting too overloaded?

I follow enough NFL to come and play.  I'll join in.  Are we doing a survivor style pick'em or just pick all the games and see who has the best winning percentage?  Also, are we going on the spreads or just pick a winner?

I need to know more, fellas.  Lastly, can we skip the Thursday night game and make the predictions for Sunday/Monday night games only?  That makes it a lot easier for those of us who work heavily during the week.  I like to use my Friday/Saturday to evaluate match ups, check injury reports, see the scouting, and see the weather.

warmaker : this will be purely guess them. No spreads. 

As for survivor style... no. Depending on how many sign up by the end of the last game for the Pre-Season ( pre-season is gonna be a trial run of sorts to show everybody how this will work ), we might divide people into conferences, and then divisions, and have play-offs during the play-offs. 

The results will be percentage based... 

So...example...

Let's say I go 9-7 in Weeks 1 and 2, and you go 8-8, that would put us these standings, and give me the lead.

As for the Thursday night games, they will be included. Want to include all games, no matter what. What we can do though, is close the day that you put your picks in from Wednesday night to Friday night. If you don't put a pick in for Thursday, that's an automatic loss. 

I will however, change for when the weekly postings should be done from sometime Tuesday to immediately following the Monday Night game, if 
MattyIce : can handle that, or if he would rather, I could post everything, and he could moderate the whole thing. 

thing1 : This is good. This is exactly what I want...more people to see how we're doing this and make suggestions. I want to try and make this work for everybody that will be involved. And I will GUARANTEE that I will post the next week's games after the Monday Night game is over. I bowl league on Monday Nights during the fall so it won't be until late at night that I can post them, like midnight or maybe a little later.
