So, ever since the server migration from about 7 months ago, user's have not only been having troubles signing up, but also troubles logging into the accounts they've created.

With the first issue, I apparently forgot to properly setup my mail server for one of the servers that sends out user activation emails. This means that the emails sent out either were all sent directly to spam box or not delivered at all. This has been fixed. I plan to make further tweaking at some point to increase the chances of it landing in a user's primary email box but at very least now, everyone should be getting activation emails when they signup.

The second issue was that when users activated their account, the site wouldn't remember what password they chose so after the user activated their account, they wouldn't be able to log into their account. Now if a user used password recover, then they'd be fine and would be able to properly change their password but a lot of users didn't bother doing this. The cause of this is how PHP7 handles certain variables differently from PHP5 (and we upgraded to PHP7 during the server migration). This issue has also been fixed.

All of this greatly explains why we've had such a low number of new users and why the activity is even lower than it should be. Even if this hadn't happened, the activity still wouldn't be great but this was definitely one of the bigger things hurting the site and I'm so glad to have found this out and to be able to have fixed it as quickly as I did. Huge thanks to trixz2007 for bringing it to my attention and for helping me troubleshoot this issue.

Ouch... I can't even imagine how many signups we lost from this issue. Better late than never, though.

trixz2007 : Nice job finding that. I don't know that any of us would've.

Well, I got word of a problem where we had to clear our cookies if we had issues logging in (though I personally have never experienced anything like this), but this issue is way more dangerous.

Seven months is a lot of time "lost", but it luckily won't last any longer. I hope that the people who couldn't register during this period still feel like joining us and we can finally get that portion of traffic we were losing.

I'd highly recommend sending these people an email explaining the situation. It sounds like the accounts were created so that is a good thing. Maybe some of the users can be recovered by doing this. I'd also suggest putting up your email or some sort of contact form in case an issue like this happens again because they really have no way of new registered users reaching you unless they go complain on facebook about it.

Glad i was able to be of help this came to me from many users trying to make new accounts. Which i had no idea of at first because my account was made a long while ago.
Im happy to see the issue was fixed and yes i also agree with JigSaw: but using a support ticket or showing new users to report any issues to Vizzed Discord server or a Vizzed Email account

Davideo7 : Happy to be of assist i love the community and all the new members joining glad to see they can now join with no issues.

Trixz has a decent idea here, I think. Having non-members report issues to the Discord server could be a decent option. While we're at it, we could consider making the Discord server a landing spot for new members and pass them onto the forums once they sing up.
