If any of you are not aware, but The Pokemon Company has been all out today releasing a ton of new information regarding all of the Pokemon games that is going to be released on the Nintendo Switch..

First of all, starting today, Nintendo has released a Pokemon-Minecraft hybrid called "Pokemon Quest". Pokemon Quest is a free download game (but has paid DLCs) on the Nintendo Switch.

The 2nd thing is that rumored "Let's GO Pikachu/Eevee" game that has been officially announced, and according to The Pokemon Company, this is NOT the start of Generation VIII (which I will get to later on). This game will sync your progress in Pokemon GO to your Switch and you can use your Pokemon you captured in Pokemon GO, and use them in the typical Pokemon games, and this game sadly only features the Kanto region and doesn't include the other 6 regions and only feature the first 151 Pokemon. Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee will release Worldwide on November 16th, 2018. But also, the Special Gift Pokemon that was teased could be possibly the first Generation VIII Pokemon, since Game Freak love teasing a new Generation Pokemon before the announcement of that Generation

And lastly... Nintendo, Game Freak, and The Pokemon Company has officially announced that Generation VIII will not begin until Late 2019, but Nintendo, Game Freak, and TPC is currently working on the first pair of the Gen VIII titles. Junichi Masuda said "We want our fans to enjoying as much as they can with Pokemon Quest, Let's GO, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon, while they anticipate the release of our 8th Generation of Pokemon games in Late 2019"

Here's 3 of the IGN links I read:

Welp, the theory of Let's Go Pikachu being a Yellow reboot made to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the franchise in 2021 has been taken down officially. I now wonder what could they come up with for that anniversary.

I'm quite happy to see that Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee is just a sidegame and the core games of the generation are still to come. I saw no clear future if these two were actually the start of the generation, but with two brand new games coming up all my doubts have been officially disappeared.

These games are really the materialization of the dreams of many generations, since the black and white days (see what I did there), so all my yes to these games. Maybe not as deep as we'd have wanted them to be, but a first taste of what the franchise can be on the Switch by the time the new generation kicks in next year.

Wondering what that special Pokémon could be... Soon somebody will state it's the first ever batch of Zeraora, but I'm inclined to think it's a new Eeveelution, even though it would make more sense in one game than the other the tease is so vague that it's a perfectly valid option.

As long as some of the Pokemon Generation VIII ends up on the 3DS, then the pokemon fans will be happy!

EX Palen: I'm pretty relieved that Let's GO Pikachu/Eevee isn't the first 2 Generation VIII titles. Also, I know that a lot of people will say that Zeraora will be that "Special Pokemon", but they will realize that they will be completely wrong because TPC already said that it's going to be a new Pokemon that hasn't been released or even announced yet.

Not sure if you're talking about Black & White from Gen V

Or the first Pokemon games
(jk, I know what you are referring)

Vizzy900: I hate to say, but Nintendo, Game Freak, and TPC has already announced that they are no longer releasing any games for the Nintendo 3DS, and they are focusing their attention on the Switch.

Jeez, last gen I played was V, and I don't remember liking it as much as previous titles. Glad to see that Pokemon is still thriving--was a little unsure of its stability over the years

That's why I said it's more likely to be a new Eeveelution. Like, the fanbase will dynamite TPC if Eevee gets to star in a game for once yet it gets no further attention. This could also mean that leakers could attempt to impress us with that supposed new Pokémon instead of the sets of starters for the next few months, so expect the most picturesque and colorful "leaks" to roam around sooner than you think.

Oh, and let's not forget the announcement that is theoretically scheduled for the 31st. We could be on a nice 24 hour race of Pokémon news, on one side for the games and on the other side for movies (if the upcoming announcement is, as all signs point to, about movies). Gives me the vibe that TPC itself is hyped for seeing Pokémon fully on console.

No wonder why we'd be getting no Pokémon news at E3, they've showed us everything we need to know until 2019's E3. Also, sorry Sony and Microsoft, but the spotlight has already been stolen from you even if it's still +10 days until E3 starts, so thank you for coming xD

EX Palen : Yeah, especially that Nintendo stated that they want to turn more of their attention towards Super Smash Bros on the Switch during the June 12's Nintendo Direct during E3.

The most we probably see at E3 this year (if we're lucky) is maybe a couple of screenshots of the Gen VIII Pokemon games, but other than that, that would be it.

I was so thankful to hear that Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee aren't gen 8, and that gen 8 will be next year. Now I have no reason to buy that Pokemon Go DLC garbage!

You know, personally, I might end up skipping Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and just going to wait it out until next year with the first pair of Generation VIII games.

All Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee is, is a Nintendo Switch version of the 1st version of Pokemon Go, but with Red/Blue gameplay with Switch graphics.... Not interested.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee look like one of those dumb free Pokemon rip-offs that you can find in the Appstore or the Playstore.

I don't even have a switch but even if I did I wouldn't waste my money on this trash. More power to the people that are hyped for these games but I don't see the point.

Furret : All Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee basically is.... Like if Pokemon Red/Blue (the original 1996 games) and Pokemon Go had a baby, this game (Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee) would be it's baby..

I only have The Legend of Zelda. Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on my Switch right now,. It's not worth buying or pre-ordering Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, especially that I'm more focusing my attention towards Super Smash Bros Ultimate this December.
