I'm looking for members who will have a lot of free time this summer (aka June, July and August) that are willing to help out with the Retro Game Room (and who also want to earn lots of Viz). I'm looking to hire about 10 people and each person can apply for 2 positions. I will be appointing the new staff on June 6th and that's around the time you will begin working.

Requirements
-Must be a trusted member or have at least 50 posts
-Must have been a member for at least 30 days
(or have at been here for at least 6 months and have at least 10 posts)
-Have at least 10 hours a week that you can set aside to helping out
-Be willing to help out users when they have problems or questions with the RGR

Available Positions
-Game Testing: You'd test out games in each of the available emulators to see if there are any problems
-Game Reviewing: You'd thoroughly review games in the RGR that you think are good
-Hacked Game Reviewing: You'd review hacks and compare them to their original game
-Hacked Screenshot Taking: You'd take screenshots of Hacked games
-Screenshot Adder: You'd add screenshots to games missing them
-Box Art Adder: You'd add box art graphics to games missing them
-Screenshot Rater: You'd rate screenshots that users have submitted
-Review Rater: You'd rate reviews that users have submitted (and also comment on them)
-File Adder: For a future feature, you'd find and add files to games such as manuals, walkthroughs, music, maps, etc (this is equivalent to 2 positions)
-Video Recorder: For a future feature, you'd record yourself playing games, add it to youtube and than link it to the game page (this is equivalent to 2 positions)

Additional Positions for a future 'Flash Game Room':
-Flash Game Screenshot Taking: Take screenshots of the flash games
-Flash Game Reviewing: You'd review the flash games
-Flash Game Submitter: Go around gathering flash games and than adding them (this is equivalent to 2 positions)

Every day the save file manager use to backup all your save files, I disabled the auto-backup earlier this month but if you lost a save file that was created before than, you might be able to recover it. NOTE: That page only works with Firefox.

The site speed should be back to normal as to how it was weeks ago (maybe even faster). Also the site maintenance that took place a few hours ago took a little longer than I expected, I apologize for that but that maintenance is finished.

Still some other things I need to sort out but once I feel everything is functioning the way they were weeks ago, I'll make a separate announcement. Thanks for all your patience

Earlier on Sunday, the Database crashed due to overwhelming strain on the server which resulted into 50+ user accounts being dropped from the database. I was able to recover most of the accounts but for those whose accounts weren't recovered, I'll compensate you 10,000 Viz and also help you recover your old save files.

I'm very sorry for this, as stated in the previous Announcement, the server strain will be an issue of the past within a few days.

The site should be back to normal speed sometime tomorrow but at the very latest, 2 or 3 days. Until than, the site will be very slow and you may need to refresh a few pages a few times. Thanks for your patience.

For security reasons, everything is on 1 server at the moment. We've purchased a more secure 2nd server using the $250 that Geeogree donated to the site (thanks again geo ) and that'll be set up soon and once it is, we'll be expanding vizzed to 2 servers again. I'll make another announcement once the transfer is complete.

We implemented security to the website and have more to implement so we ask for your patience and understanding. The website shouldn't have to be taken down for it but we never know for sure especially with the attacks. Some things are trial and error so hopefully by the end of the month (at most) everything will be back to normal. We have been brainstorming a ton of ideas to add to the website but will have to wait on those ideas until we get back on our feet. So don't give up on us! And thank you for being supportive, encouraging, and understanding during this time as the attacker has been relentless attacking on and off since May 5 so it has been a difficult time. We will keep everyone updated with any news here and on our Facebook wall.

Unfortunately the attacks just keep on coming so Vizzed will be down in around 2 hours for about 2 hours for security maintenance. So be sure to prepare for that, maybe find a good game in the RGR that you can load up ahead of time and play for 2 hours (just be sure to save after the site goes back up). Sorry for the inconvenience

It's been a terrible week, $500+ worth of damage, a lot of my time invested (14+ hours a day for the past week) but it's safe to say vizzed is finally done with the attacks and security updates.

I just want to say thanks for everyone's patience and support. Also want to say that I'm terribly sorry for all of this inconvenience, so to make up for it, all games are 75% off Viz and you now get tripled the Viz for referring members to the site until summer (june 21st).

How can you help Vizzed recover from these attacks? There's no doubt that this has hurt vizzed financially, but it also hurt our search engine ranking and traffic. If everyone could pitch in to help out, that'd be great. You can help out by advertising the site by either telling your friends about it or posting links to it on other sites. Remember, you'll get 3 times the Viz for doing it which is: 300 Viz for each person you direct to the site, 1500 Viz if they sign up and 3000 Viz if they make at least 1 post.

Doing the last of the site maintenance (for a while anyway). For the next 12 or so hours, any save files will probably be lost. So I suggest for the time being, you guys either spend your time on the forums or play games that you don't need to save on.

Any Save Files Made in the next few hours will be lost. The reason is because I'm backing up the current save files so any save file made after this announcement will be lost. This basically means either spend your time on the forums or play games that you don't need to save on (the same thing applies for taking screenshots).

Closing down the RGR for about 15 minutes for maintenance.

There are still some things on the site that still need to be fixed or transferred, everything should be back to normal by Monday. It's basically anything relating to the RGR which may have problems so for those who can't play the games they want, feel free to post on the forum until everything is back to normal.

The site was DoS attacked on Thursday. I've spent many hours trying to get the site back up and implementing more security. No files were lost and no personal information was stolen. However, it might be a little longer before all of everyone is able to access the site. I thank you all for your patience and I apologize for vizzed being down, this will probably do some damage to vizzed search engine rankings and traffic and overall will have costed me $100s so for those who want to help out, tell your friends about the site, advertise the site on other sites or donate.

I ended up migrating to a new server, I figured if the site is going to be down, I might as well make something good out of the situation and migrating to a better server would require down time anyway. So the site is on the new server and the new server is a bit better than the previous, it should be faster and should be able to handle more users. All of the files have already transferred except RGR Plugin save files and screenshots taken with the RGR Plugin, those should be finished transferring sometime on Saturday.

153 Hacks, Homebrew, Pirated and Translated Games were added to the RGR. Most of the games are for NES and Genesis but some are for the Game Boy Advance. There were a few Pokemon Hacks added and a bunch of Genesis hacks added.

I've had a lot of people requesting for me to add certain games and I figured I might as well set aside a few days to search for some of these rare games and add them.

I haven't tested out the games yet (and some of the games might really suck) and I haven't added content or graphics to most of them either. It'd be great if you guys could go through and review some of the added games, rate them and also take screenshots.

The maintenance I did yesterday caused some save files for certain games to stop working, mainly Game Boy and Game Boy Color games played in the VizzedAEPgb emulator. This has been fixed and you guys should be able to load your old save files again.

If you've saved a game in the past 24 hours using the VizzedAEPgb emulator than there's a very good chance that your save file may be lost. However, it is possible to recover that save file manually but that's time consuming for me so if you really put a lot of hours into a new save file in the past 24 hours, send me 500 Viz and let me know which game you lost your save file on.

Btw, games should be working again too.
