Though I'm still learning to place the right threads in the right places. I do my best to give a good quality post, but I sometimes give more of the quantity. Though I haven't been dong that lately. Honestly I don't think I have been giving good post. Though I'm still trying to avoid spamming of course. Enough rambling. What would you prefer? Quantity? Or Quality?

I agree. I prefer quality over quantity any day. With quality. You give good detail about the you subject you are on and have a reasonable debate and conversation about that subject where quantity just rants on about nonsense that haves nothing to do with the subject there and keeps going on and on. Definitely quality, even if it is my own thread. If people are posting boring, half-arsed posts just for the sake of posting- The conversation is not interesting and thus the thread dies. Quality posts are essential to the "health" of the forum... No doubt about it.

Definitely quality. Quantity looks nice on the stat sheet, but the majority of posters who have a lot of posts (and are below the top 25) generally say 10 words and leave.

The best posts are those that get into the topic and the best threads are the ones that are well worded without further need of an explanation.

Indeed. I'm still new in some cases and still make mistakes, but those mistakes are easy to learn from. I've only been here 2 weeks now and I've seen people just post a few words and they got like hundreds of post and a trusted member. To me, they didn't earn the trust points. Now I try to make detailed posts with at least 3 sentences. Typically, it makes for ~50 or so words, although often I am around 100.

But too much quality kind of ruins the post. Ever read a 2000-word post (the quality, grammar and spelling stuff are all perfect) that if you think about it you could summarize what it was saying in 1 to 5 sentences?

I prefer quality over quantity as well. As said, it first feels nice to see a lot of text, thinking about how much details it must have, but sometimes those kinds of posts tend to lack grammar, which at least helps me to understand them, and after a few lines they might get quite incoherent.
