Though I'm still learning to place the right threads in the right places. I do my best to give a good quality post, but I sometimes give more of the quantity. Though I haven't been dong that lately. Honestly I don't think I have been giving good post. Though I'm still trying to avoid spamming of course. Enough rambling. What would you prefer? Quantity? Or Quality?

Quality, I'd rather make one decent thread with a lot of replies and a good debate rather then a few threads with hardly any replies, A good thread can last for a while a bad thread will just be forgot about very soon.

I agree. I prefer quality over quantity any day. With quality. You give good detail about the you subject you are on and have a reasonable debate and conversation about that subject where quantity just rants on about nonsense that haves nothing to do with the subject there and keeps going on and on. That I believe is spamming. All in all. I go with quality.

Definitely quality, even if it is my own thread. If people are posting boring, half-arsed posts just for the sake of posting- The conversation is not interesting and thus the thread dies. Quality posts are essential to the "health" of the forum... No doubt about it.

I've always tried to make quality threads and posts, I try to include some pictures whenever I can aswell. Ive only got about 1100 posts and ive been here since January 2009.. I just simply hate spamming.

Oh yes. I always try to make good quality posts myself. I agree with you as well Annette. I don't like boring posts myself. To me thats just an lazy excuse to rise the post counts. I've made some uninteresting posts myself. I won't lie, but I'm working my way up to make better posts. If I don't understand the topic or don't get the conversations of whats going on. I don't posts on those for the sake of avoiding spamming. As for putting pictures up. I've only done that once to better describe the thing or person I'm talking about as well. Mine may not be the best, but at least I try to get the point across.

Definitely quality. Quantity looks nice on the stat sheet, but the majority of posters who have a lot of posts (and are below the top 25) generally say 10 words and leave.

The best posts are those that get into the topic and the best threads are the ones that are well worded without further need of an explanation.

Yes it is great to have lots of posts but if you just spam 1000 posts of 5 words you
really don't acomplish anything.

Indeed. I'm still new in some cases and still make mistakes, but those mistakes are easy to learn from. I've only been here 2 weeks now and I've seen people just post a few words and they got like hundreds of post and a trusted member. To me, they didn't earn the trust points. Just had a lot of friends. I've worked for it and still am, but This tread is not about me, but the subject of quantity or quality. I apologize in advance if I'm rambling on about nonsense. Quality what makes things interesting to read and actually have something to talk about. I don't like quantity myself. I may not get a thousand post probably this year, because I'm not going to post just to post. I'm actually looking for something to actually talk about. As for you guys. I truly enjoy reading your posts. People can learn a thing or two from you guys.

Lol I'm going to agree with everyone else here. Definitely quality over quantity. At one time a few months ago I valued quantity over quality and lots of people hated me for it. Now I try to make detailed posts with at least 3 sentences. Typically, it makes for ~50 or so words, although often I am around 100.

legacyme3 : Yeah, I noticed that too. With exception of a few, lots of "top posters" on the front page type really short posts. What really annoys me is when someone just says the same thing as everyone else above, only changing a few words and not adding to the topic. Those people suck.

But too much quality kind of ruins the post. Ever read a 2000-word post (the quality, grammar and spelling stuff are all perfect) that if you think about it you could summarize what it was saying in 1 to 5 sentences?

I just need the quantity part so that I could see what's the next picture my user rank will show.

Quality of course! Not only regarding to Vizzed, but quality of anything is always better than quantity.

Quality posts makes a thread more interesting and appealing for others to respond as oppose to a boring less than 10 word post that nobody pays attention to and overlooks.

By the way, Natas, I enjoy your threads/posts for the short period of time you've been here, you've made an impact. Just saying!

I prefer quality. I mean people posting a lot in the threads is good, but if it's just a bunch of posts with a few words it doesn't really matter. If people don't have quality in their posts and you can't even make sense out of them because of that, then why even bother posting? So my point is, quantity is good, but quality is better for getting in more details and stuff apposed to a small 5 word sentence.

I have to go with quality because like leggy said, quantity may look good on the stats sheet but most people with high post rankings usually just slop something down on their short post and leave.

I prefer quality over quantity as well. As said, it first feels nice to see a lot of text, thinking about how much details it must have, but sometimes those kinds of posts tend to lack grammar, which at least helps me to understand them, and after a few lines they might get quite incoherent.

I myself prefer quality over quantity, however if the thread has no quality i would it like to be bountiful with words.

i prefer to read and write quality posts, but to level up fast or to get alot of Viz fast youve got mainly posts fast which can sometimes compromise the quality and length of the post :/
