So, the VCS is back. For those of you who don't know what it is.... take a peak through old pages of General Chat and read the old threads.

A simple overview however will be provided here. Basically the VCS is this:

Everyday from 12 AM to 12 AM server time every post that you make will get counted and the top 10 people with the most posts in that time frame will get points. 1st place gets 10 points, and 10th place gets 1 point.

These points are added up over the month of July and whoever has the most points at the end of the month wins the VCS. It's pretty simple.

However, I word of warning. This is not a spamming competition. The entire staff is on the look-out over the next month for anyone who they think is spamming in order to win this competition. That doesn't mean you can't post a lot... but make sure your posts are good quality ones. I will not hesitate to ban you for a day if I catch you spamming. If you get banned you don't get any points for that day and missing out on a single day can cause you to lose.

So, good luck. Results will be posted here at the end of each day (or early the next morning if I'm too tired). Good luck to everyone who is participating!

Well, I can easily say that I won't make top 10 this time because I have a 12 day Cadet camp from the 11th to the 23rd, which will take away 120 points, leaving 190 possible points. And that's not guarenteeing that I'll number one all those days. Anyways, I'll do my best to post a lot and keep the spammers at vein. I might even be able to give a few forum bans.

I have a question: Do we have to fill in an application in order to participate in? Or is automatic?

noelia : it's automatic.... but not everyone actually tries when the VCS is on. Some people actually post less....

but others (like me) tend to post a lot more when the VCS is on.

Also, what about the users, whose time zone is different from the server's? (for example I currently have 29posts according to active users page
but according to ACS page I have 16)

the acs page is what determines your post count for the servers 24 hours. It's 12 AM to 12 AM server time. Nothing else matters. I use the ACS page count when I tally up points.

Wonderful, it seems to happen whenever I'll be out for a week .
Oh well, I guess I can still work hard the rest of the month and scrape top 10.

you guys are counting yourselves out before it even really starts.... it all depends on who really picks up their posting and tries to win. Sept most likely won't do well... he's been really inactive... I doubt I'll really dominate. I think this competition is the most wide open one we've had. You may not win but getting top 5 or top 10 is still very likely.

Yeah at this point there's not a single person who I see really dominating this competition, no one lately has been far more active than anyone else, though that might change this month, we'll see.

I see my activity being a lot less this month compared to last month, my busiest months always tend to be during the competition.

my posting picked up in June.... but that doesn't mean anything for July.

Vizwiz has already shot ahead for an early lead on the day. He's got 34 posts so far... but getting that many early in the day doesn't secure anything.

I honestly hope that we have a tight race all month for the top 5. The last VCS was exciting for that very reason. We didn't know for sure until right near the very end.

I have a feeling this month will be even more exciting because it seems like it'll be an even closer race.

Actually before the day ends, I might make an announcement that this will be the first VCS in which I hand out an award for (the award system will be functioning before the month ends for sure).

geeogree : Well, sept won't do well unless he finds out... then you know exactly what he'll do. And I guess you're right... but with so much going on this month, it'll take some serious posting from me to actually do well .

Crono : I didn't get first last time... but that was on purpose. I've said this before and I'll say it again.... if I wanted to win first there pretty much isn't anything anyone can do about it. I've posted over 200 times just to get first place for the day.

bignate - he might.... but there is no guarantee that he'll find out any time soon.... and even then, I can still ban him if he goes overboard.

geeogree : Well, that makes sense, LOL. In fact, you're like a tank with a ban hammer. Let's hope this VCS becomes a fun one and not a big spam fest, in which will result in a closure like the VCS a while ago.

I doubt I'll close this one down.... the March VCS that was closed down actually resulted in the highest posting hour that Vizzed has ever had.

I think the old off-topic thread had 2-3 new pages made in it over the course of that day. It was excessive.

bigNATE : I'll probably to 1st, 2nd and 3rd but they'll all be worth different amount of points (think Xbox 360 achievement points).

So, when does the July VCS start anyway? Tomorrow? Speaking of tomorrow, Crono will be online all day tomorrow so that will help if it starts then.
