If he's talking about a mountain, then it might be avalanches. In Idaho some roads were closed because of high risks; I imagine that some school got shut down too.

About four years ago our school was alerted that a tornado was approaching a school but since I don't live in Kansas I knew that it wouldn't hit us in fact it turns out that the tornado just barely missed us and it past us just across the street from our school never touching the school's grounds. Everybody was very moody afterwards and we just continued school as if nothing just happened.

I kind of have, but not too much. 

So back when I was in 8th grade, we went on a lock down for flooding and a tornado. So we had to follow all of the procedures for if it was an actual emergency, which it kind of was. We were in a really bad thunderstorm, and a tornado had touched down only about 10 miles away from us so we were forced to do the standard safety measures.

Eventually, after about an hour, it was called off and we were allowed to go back to class. Nothing had happened at all after that one Tornado.

Probably for the best, no I have not had a weather emergency and I hope I never will. I don't want that to happen and even if it does I will probably follow whatever the teachers tell me to do since they know best.

During one of the last days of my 3rd-grade year (and last public school days) there were severe storms rolling in and the tornado sirens went off right as classes were dismissed. There was a minor panic to get everyone home safely before it started storming. My area is actually known for having a twister come through, but this was before I moved there.

For me and my friends, it was more fun than anything, but there were those high strung kids that were freaking out like they were about to die lol. Other than drills, that was the only time it ever happened while I was at school.
