I have been injured more than anybody, but I have never been in this much pain. Ever, and it all started by doing my laundry. Basically, I tore some muscles in my neck and now it literally hurts to do anything, from walking, to eating, to just rolling over to a different side in bed. People said that things like this can heap on their own after like 3-4 days, but I might end up missing work tomorrow and going to the doctor just to get thing checked. Has this ever happened to any of you?

Oh man, I actually cringed when I read "tore some muscles". This has never happened to me to my knowledge, but I have had some fairly serious injuries over the years but never went to a doctor, so I don't know really.

I have had my back muscles be so overwhelming pain filled that I couldn't stand straight for about a week on two different occasions, and injured my knee a few times (it's hurting right now actually) but never seriously hurt the knee.

Long story short: I don't think so. However, you may want some medical attention for that even if it can heal on it's own. No guarantee that it will heal correctly without help. But then who am I to say? As I said I've never been to the doctor except whenever I was a little kid.

I was in a pain like yours about a year ago. I was getting something from under my bed when my cat startled me and made me to jump up quick. Since I was close to the beds edge I hit my neck, HARD.

After that locomotion became very difficult and every time I opened my mouth it felt like a million bullets. Since the pain was numbed a bit when I lay down I spent much of the next two days in bed.

Since then I've been sure to close my cat out of my room when I need to do something delicate or slightly dangerous.

Wow, I haven't heard of anything like that happening before. I agree with what Eirinn said: you should see a doctor about that whether it can heal on its own or not. That injury can affect you greatly with important things like school and your job.

Boxia : Whoa It drives me crazy when I'm trying to do something and my cat scares the living daylights out of me. He usually sneaks up to me at night when I'm in the kitchen and he meows loudly, making me almost choke or almost drop something. One of these days my cat could be part of the reason I get injured... but it hasn't been anything like that. That sounds like something I would handle horribly.

Secondly if you tore muscles in your neck it'd take more than a couple of days to heal.. Muscle takes a while to heal.. And even longer in areas with constant movement, Honestly it sounds like you've just stretched a muscle too far... 

Don't get me wrong I'm sorry for your injury.. But if your really considering whether or not you should miss work for a day to check the severity of your injury.... I can only hypothesize a few options

1. You need to work or you'll be broke
2. The injury is nowhere near the extent you think it is.
3. Your scared of doctors.
4. You really don't understand the problems a muscle injury can develop. 

As someone that ignored an injury to the muscle in my back in dodgeball and then spent 4 months not being able to walk without taking severe painkillers. I urge you to seek medical evaluation...

I'm sorry about that.  I know what it's like to have neck pain, albeit of a different variety.  I had a panic attack, and my neck froze in place, twisted to the side.  It was terrible!  I hope that the doctors can figure out what's going on and give a solution.

I tried to go to work but i couldn't reach to get the alarm so once I turned it off I just went back to bed and I'm heading out for the doctor soon.


I did some research and I found that when theres most pain with the neck, the shoulders/arm/back should also hurt so that's kind of good

Prayers for you. I hope its not a disc in the neck. I know some people who had pain similar to yours and it turned out they had to have surgery to repair a disc that had herniated.

The pharmecy wouldn't give me all of the medicine so I was only able to get like 1 of them and hopefully that helps but it hadn't done anything yet and I took it like 40 or so minutes ago.
