Davideo7 : Yeah, maybe you are right. IDK. I could have sworn that I've gotten a message letting me rectify the situation and cite their material but I do admit it's been awhile since I've been dinged after initial upload.

Jordanv78 : Sometimes videos get flagged by the automated system, that's probably what you're thinking of. In situations like that, the video either gets its audio removed, the video gets disabled in certain countries, ads get placed on the video or the video gets removed all together but it usually doesn't result into a Strike as far as I know.

Commercials have officially been removed. Most of them I downloaded and will re-upload to a new Youtube account within a week. When that happens, I'll make an announcement regarding all of this.

I believe the Youtube copyright thing is getting out of hand. Just a few weeks ago many Youtubers were getting videos wiped away due to so called, "copyright". It upsets me even more because most of the videos Youtube took down had been a lot of Let's Plays. Now as you frequently watch people play a Sega or a Nintendo game, you now hear, "Oh no, it's a Sega game." or "Oh no, it's a Nintendo game." Why? Because they are cracking down on people who play these games, which, in my opinion is just stupid. I don't understand why it is such a problem to play games on Youtube, whether it is Sega, Sony, Nintendo, etc... And as one who is looking to soon open up his Youtube channel, it is scary because now, I have to worry about what to play and what not to play..

NintendoFreak120 : Someone doing a Lets Play of a game is great advertisement for that game, it's beyond me why a company would have a problem with it. It's almost as if some companies hate the idea of being successful.

Hi davido, one of the major problems that I have noticed about video game footage is generally from the Japanese companies, that is due to their business culture, they are under the beliefe that you are making money off of the game footage and dont realize that the pennies that you do make comes from the advertising.

The other issue and one I've had a personal issue with before being partnered myself was usually with the copyrighted music that happens to be in the background of the games. when its the music that cause the a notice you could go into the audio options of the video and potentially have the music removed and if youtube fails to remove the music as what happened in one of my videos youtube voluntarily removed the notice.

I've been thinking about this for a while, and since you're going to create a YouTube channel solely for video game music, why not create a site staff position in which a user can record OST's and upload then? It would be similar to gameplay recorders, but instead of recording gameplay, they record VGM instead.

Davideo7 : I was watching a video about YouTube's new CIC policy and how videos that are upload would now be scanned for copyright claims and such. Looking at how things go, I understand people want to crack down on those who upload movies and music, but for video games, it is something different in my opinion. As you said, we are promoting their game in these videos, almost as if recommending it like a review. When people watch these videos, if they like it, they buy it and the money goes to that company for the copies sold. I know Naughty Dog and a couple others said to message them if there were any copyright issues. At least certain companies understand that this helps them out..

megamanmaniac : I actually have a procedure (that requires a few programs) for ripping music from games and then converting them to MP3s or Video files. It'd be a lot quicker than having someone manually go in and record every song from every game using the plugin.

NintendoFreak120 : Yeah, video games are different than music and movies. You can experience what a movie or song has to offer with a YouTube video but you don't get the full gaming experience from a YouTube video.
