Been back at it hard for about 3 weeks or so. Still trying to get back to my ideal routine. Starting to see strength gains and better definintion. Next week i plan to kick up the lifting to 4 days and Cardio and abs for 5 days. Hows everyone else coming along?

Finally getting the diet back under control. The routine is back at what it was before everything went crazy at Easter time. Steadily getting back down to my goal, then strength training will begin.

Ah man, I am finally getting back into shape. We did our usual first 10 exercises at P.T. this morning, and then did about a 2 mile jog in out pro masks (most people know it as a gas mask).  I want to get more in shape so I can raise my P.T. score.

thing1 : Nice! Congrats on the good success so far, man.

Well I'm getting there. I'm finally back down to where I was before that crazy Easter weekend. lol Only about eight pounds away from my goal before I can start focusing on strength training and such. I don't think I've mentioned this before, but my goal overall, is to get in the shape that I'm wanting before September. this is where you (thing1), tell me I can do it! Lol As for my short term goal, or shorter, it's to be pretty well toned by June. The reason for the dates? I figured I needed to set a date. Lol

So I finally did it.

I took that leap of dread and weighed myself on the scale.

175.8 pounds.

Now, granted... this was right after I had eaten a large meal and drank a soda, but I doubt that makes much of a difference in the grand scheme of things.

175.8 pounds.
In four months, I've gained 20 pounds.  How... totally embarrassing.

That's what three months of candy, fast food, and soda do to you.  That's what 3 months of absolutely no exercise, an infatuation with energy drinks, and a huge burden of stress does to you.

But the good news is... I can fix this!
The last four months were so stressful that I kind of let go of this thing.  That's a shame, because this was such a GOOD thing.  And so I'm starting it again.  I need some more accountability partners, or I'll be doing this alone.  Wanna join?  I know it sounds silly saying so, but this thread really did help me tremendously.

My goal is to lose that 20 pounds before the summer is over.  Is that unrealistic?

I just got off the treadmill, and I feel totally motivated to make this a part of my routine again.  How did I fare?

Well, I did 45 minutes on the treadmill overall.
29 minutes was spent lightly jogging at 4.5 mph and using a 3.0% incline.
11 minutes was spent walking at 3.5 mph and using a 0% incline.
And 5 minutes was used to cool off, walking at 3.0mph and using a 0% incline.

3 miles and 428 calories later, I'm sitting here and sweating like a hog.  I'm going to go hop in the shower, but I just had to stop by and ask for all my friends to join me in this endeavor again.  I'm sure we could ALL be a little more fit.  ^.^

For every day you participate with me, I'll give you 100 Viz.  The number is low because it's an 'everyday' thing, and also because it's something easy to lie about.  I'm going to hope that everyone plays by the honor system, but not everyone is perfect.

Let's get fit!
(Also, does anyone have 'Tap Out!'?  My husband bought it for me last Christmas, but I haven't used it yet.  I'm hoping to convince him to finally hook up the DVD player so that I can start using it in my efforts!)

Summoning those I'd love to see participate (again or just starting!):

Oh, and as far as food goes, I didn't do TOO badly so far today.  I had a salad (though it wasn't the healthiest of salads), 2 brownies, and a mountain dew.

After I get these recipes done for the cooking contest, I already told my husband last week that I'm going to be eating nothing but fruit and veggies for the summer, and only drinking water.

At some point, I'll have one energy drink just because I have one left in the fridge.

but other than that!  Fruits, veggies, water. Fruit, veggies, water.  Repeat.

First off, I actually laughed out loud at this: "but not everyone is perfect" xD Did you mean to type it that way?

Picking on people aside, I would like to join in again. I was sad when this died off, so I'm happy to see that it's back on.

Eirinn:  Oh, it's totally back on!  You know how every girl has that 'little black dress' she likes to fit in?  Well, I'm not a girly girl, but I do have such a dress.  It was what I wore for my wedding reception, but I owned it even before that for no particular reason.

Well, our principal said that we had to go to the students' graduation this year, but that formal black-tie clothing was an absolute requirement. Being the only nice thing I had, I pulled it out of the closet and tried to put it on.  TRIED to.  While I got it onto my body, I couldn't zip the side zipper, making it an impossibility to wear!

Let's see if I can make it fit by the end of the summer, and if I can, I'll post a pic to show that I've lost the weight!

Here's the dress without me in it:

Also, I forgot....
GuardianZack :
I would mean so, SO much to me if you did this with me.
I think you know why.

And to everyone else,
you must do 30 minutes of exercise to qualify.  I kinda forgot to mention that. XD

Uhhhh, why summon me? I don't really exercise anymore and just became lazy, and also, crippled leg, remember???
Anyway, If this is considered working out, I cleaned my room... how is this working out? Because I had to do it without crutches and one leg hopping

Singelli : I can help you knock off a few pounds, and get some muscle. I was tiny and not where I wanted to be in muscle. I keep going up and down about 15 pounds in muscle, depending on how much I eat and work out, but that is just me. Never been able to maintain anything above 155.

If you want, I can help you, but you have to do what I say, exactly as I say, 5 days a week. Skype, ooVoo, or google+ is alright. But, only if you are 100% sure. I can show you how to do everything, and then trust you to do it each day.

So... you want my help?

I'm just hoping to get fit by mid August. I did 45 mins of solid arm workouts today, and am hopefully going to get some work in today as well. I'll try to get some pushups/situps in as well. Hoping to keep that up for the summer. My body build will make it easier to gain muscle, so I just need to burn some of this extra.

I wish I had access to a gym, but both parents work. :/

I actually didn't do anything today.    My 5th anniversary is tomorrow, so my husband took me out as a surprise today instead of taking me out tomorrow.  I only just got back home, after being out pretty much all afternoon.  However, I'll hop back on it tomorrow!

thing1 : pm me more details?

I've been away from the house for the past two or so days, and thus away from the treadmill and scale.  While I didn't do anything yesterday in lieu of spending some time with my husband, I DID make an attempt at some exercise today.  I pretty much just jogged in place for about 40 minutes while I watched Master Chef.  I worked hard enough to break a sweat and worry about my ankles (no proper foot wear), but I'm ready to do more.

Disappointed in myself? Sure.  I also had four slices of thin crust pizza and 30 fluid ounces of Mt. Dew spread throughout the day.

I need to do better!!!

I joined to keep track of what I do but I have my own system.  I have a marathon in a few weeks and I'm trying to get under 4 hours.  It's a 26.2 mile race.

I won the YMCA triathlon in my city two months ago and finished in front of everyone.

I naturally exercise and I"m outside all the time.  I don't require accountability when it comes to health and wellness.  I just do it because it's my lifestyle to be active, to be physical, and to push myself with fitness.

Well, thanks to everyone who gave me a response.  I was really enjoying this thread in it's 'alive and kicking' days, but I guess there are few people interested in accountability and its positive effects. XD And I guess there are people more intrinsically motivated than I am.

I didn't do all that well today either, still being at the hotel.  I jogged in place again, but I have no idea of knowing how many calories I burned or how many miles I 'traveled'.  I did try to keep my eating as healthy as possible.  Being away from the house, it's a little more difficult to eat well, but I managed with one turkey burger, half a veggie burger, and maybe 30 fluid ounces of unsweet, mango tea.

Then I kind of screwed up by having two power bars later in the day. They may fill you with energy, but man.. those things are packed with calories!

Haven't been on Viz for a month or two because personal life and whatnot, sorry~
Got my mile down to 6 minutes, started lifting, got on track with my 1.5k calorie diet yet no weight loss. It might be because I've been lifting and just recently started my diet, hopefully. Fighting belly fat every step of the way.
Also, I have this mysterious shoulder injury that gives me pain whenever I put pressure on it or lift. I looked it up and it might be an impingement. I'm hoping that it's not and it will just go away because I have no money for physical therapy lol

Singelli : Double summon time! :p Sorry for failing to post here, but I wanted to let you know that I have been participating. Don't despair! Lol I don't want the Viz though. The support that this project offers is enough. Hope everyone is doing well. I have managed to get back on track, though I am not keeping track of reps and distance, so much as time and dietary matters.

Eirinn :  Nope.  I've been doing horribly.  I haven't exercised all that much since getting back from our little anniversary vacation last Friday. I spent two days moving stuff around, like heavy boxes and furniture.... and I spent another day walking around in Wal-Mart for 2 hours.  But... that's about it.

I'm so ashamed! I've put it on my list of things to do today.... thanks for the reminder.... I really needed it!  Seriously!
