I found out about anime and what is was because when I was about 8 or 9 I stayed up late watching adult swim(Toonami)on cartoon network on a Saturday and Naurto and Dragonball z came on and I heard Tom(host of Toonami) say something about those shows being anime and I also read manga so I was familiar with anime.

Sailor Moon got me into anime when it first hit America I was watching cartoon network it came on and I was hooked from there I watched DBZ, Gundam Z (I believe) Cardcaptor Saruka, Pokémon, and Yu-Gi-oh I was really young at the time as I got older and Inuyasha came out and others and the age of dial up ended and DSL came into being I starting streaming anime on dozens of site watching hour after hour for days on end. So yeah just a little addicted but Sailor Moon is still my first anime and I still love it to this day.

Pokemon was one of the main reasons why I got into anime/manga/etc.

In fact, anime really fascinated me  when I was younger. I remember absolutely loving seeing stuff that looked like anime. Something about the animation style really caught my eye. It still does today.

Although, to be honest, I wasn't quite into anime back then as much as I am now, mainly because I didn't think I was old enough to watch most anime (and I was probably right lol).

Believe it or not even though I collected Pokemon cards first the first anime I found was Dragon Ball Z. My older brother had a VHS tape of it and I found it in the player and watched it. The episode was when they were on Namek and the Ginyu Force was fighting Gohan and Krillin and Vegeta. The episode was when the green guy died (Too lazy to look up the name) and it was Recoome's turn to face the three. How do I remember even though I was only about 5 or 6 years old? Only about a year or 2 later I mentioned it to him and he pulled up all of the online episodes and we watched it.
