I am not sure about this one. I don't think people would waste that much of their lives watching endless recordings of absolutely nothing or people walking in the same direction. But I hear from lots of people that they spy on us citizens, and with the whole NSA controversy, It's kind of solidifying that theory.

There's not many cameras in the U.K on street lights. They're usually on Traffic Lights in the towns or on streets leading into the town. Not too excessive if you asked me. Carter is correct, they are really great for recording crimes etc. As this will minimise crime and ultimately make your surrounding area a lot safer. However, if they have cameras on nearly all street lights, that's pretty excessive.
