I have listened to many an epic song. Go to You Tube and you will find alot of songs by a band called "Two Steps From Hell" and pretty much ALL of their music is EPIC. Here's one song just to give you a taste. And it's not heavy metal like the name suggests, it's trailer music. Check this out, I promise you will be searching for all of their other songs after you hear it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Em42XjJKSX8

It's a similar situation with this other band you may have heard of, called "The Glitch Mob". They are an L.A. Electronica band and they just TOTALLY rock. This song in particular is so epic it will rock your socks off! It's pretty long, but trust me- listen to it ALL THE WAY THROUGH. It takes awhile to get to the really good parts. If you don't care about hearing anything else in the background, there is a condensed version set to a trailer to the movie "Tron: Legacy" and the video blends with the song quite well, even if you do opt to listen to the longer version, you should still give the trailer a shot.
