I'm a big fan of Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and other peripheral based music games, but there's a lot of other games like Osu!, DJMAX, and Trombone Champ that require some talent when it comes to gameplay.

I play Expert on Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and I normally get a pretty good score, but there's ALWAYS some miniscule, dumb mistake or a chain of hammer-on notes that I miss each play. I wish I could minimize how often it happens but over the years, I've learned the one or two dumb mistakes will generally happen.

How about you? Are you good at music games?

I haven't played Dance Dance Revolution in 4 years, and considering how wiped out I was when I played this was a sign that I'm too old for those games even if that game is good for exercise

I LOVE Dance Dance Revolution. Even though I usually only get a few levels in before I get a game over, the game rocks my socks off. If my back injury ever gets better, I'm heading back to the boardwalk arcade (assuming it still exists) and playing more rounds of Dance Dance Revolution.

I've never been great at Guitar Hero, but I'm fairly good at Elite Beat Agents. I mean, I still have yet to beat it, but I've gotten pretty far in it. It's all a matter of getting the right feel for the song.

Well I will be honest I'm pretty horrible. Granted, I have not played a lot of music games. I remember trying Guitar Hero when they had it set up in Kmart. I played the demo of it and lets just say I missed several times. I tried it again and could not get it. That is my only time I played a music video game. I was like my goodness I'm horrible at this. I decided then I would just stick to the classic games.

The average person would say I am a god at Guitar Hero, but that's because the average person struggles when the fifth note comes in after medium difficulty. In reality, I'm only pretty good at Guitar Hero. I can beat most songs on expert, but I still struggle with the most difficult songs, like Through the Fire and Flames and The Devil Went Down to Georgia. I definitely can't FC many songs on expert.

Other than Guitar Hero, I haven't really played any other rhythm games.

I was really into Osu in 2021 because it was a game my old laptop was able run and was able to do 6 stars levels, I don't think that's really cool but I had fun playing it. They did had a mobile game that you can play on the phone and I beaten all of the levels expert mode. Now I just play Taiko no tatsujin on my phone since namco took the website game. I been wanting to go to round one since they got a arcade ver of it and i wanted to see if im really good on that.

I should back track a little bit on my statement since I found a way to play DDR for playstation online, well at least when I do it with my fingers I don't have to worry about running out of breath or anything

I think I'm horrible at all rhythm games. I used to be pretty good back in the days of the original Guitar Hero. I really like the newest Hatsune Miku on the Switch and I'm pretty good at it but I can barely play stuff like OSU, Cytus Alpha, or Beat Saber.

It really depends on what kind of rhythm game you are speaking of. If it’s like guitar hero or Just dance, I’ve never played them in my life. Dance dance revolution I was mediocre since dancing on a pad isn’t my style.

Games like Parappa the Rapper, Bust-A-Move 1+2 (Bust-A-Groove in Japan) or any hand eye coordination games I’m pretty good at. Even today I pop a couple of hours into my time to play some Bust-A-Groove 2 once in a while since it is one of few games I consider as a gem to play.

I'm sure most people know I used to play osu! for a very long time, but it's probably only 3-4 times a year now so I'm sure my penchant for timing is not what it used to be lol. I do play other rhythm-aligned games every so often though and I typically don't really struggle to get good scores in any rhythm game I've played unless it's an awkward/foreign/unique control scheme, like Guitar Hero.
