Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Review by: greenluigi - 7.8/10

Luigi: *Yawns*
Hello, Vizzians and Dreamers! Welcome back to another Mario review! So, do you love dreams? Do you love dreamy games? Well, this game is just for you! Ah, Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, released on July 2013 (The month and year I signed up!), is an amazing RPG. Trust me, you'll love it! May I ask you something? Yes? Yay. Will you help me on my journey to collect six Pi'illos? Thanks! They're trapped, so we gotta save them! Their names are: Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty. After we all rescue them, we must take them to Dr. Snoozemore's lab, and thanks to his Overall Generator, we should be able to review them! We must begin the review now, or else it will be too late! C'mon!

Shiny Graphics~:10-  The latest Mario and Luigi game shares amazing, and colorful graphics! Compared to its predecessor, Bowser's Inside Story, Dream Team's graphics are much better. Mario's design has improved, so did Luigi. I mean, come on, this is a 2013 game, so I'm sure these graphics deserve a full grade, right? How about we take a look of the graphics of the Mario and Luigi history, shall we?

SupeStar Saga-Meh.
Partners in Time-Better, but still meh.
Bowser's inside story-Good!
Dream Team-Excellent! Perfect!

See how its graphics improved during the years? Cool, right? In addition, its animation improved so much. You see, Mario's jumping animation has been improved, and it's better. Bowser's flames are cooler, and basically, every animation and cutscenes are much cooler and better! Now, would you excuse me, I must... *KA! POW! SMASH!* Sorry about that. Just KO'ed a Koopa Troopa, and we rescued our first Pi'illo! We punched the Koopa 10 times, so it's a 10/10 on the Graphics section!

Not the best soundtrack:7-  Dream Team doesn't have the best soundtrack, in my opinion. Bowser's Inside Story had a much better one. Some of its themes are great, while others are... Okay, I guess. I don't call its soundtrack catchy, you know? Some of its theme are so... cuty? baby? Lol, didn't mean to be rude, here :P. Some themes are better than BIS, such as the boss battle theme for example. Sorry, I don't know what much to say about here. Anyway... *KA! POW! SMASH! STOMP!* Yay, squashed a Gomba, and we rescued the Sound Pi'illo! Okay, it's not the time for celebration. Dr. Snoozemore is waiting for us! We should hurry, or someone like Bowser kidnaps him!

Very addicting game back then:5- Today, I rarely ever play this game. When I first got it, I used to play it every day during Christmas Break. I beat it last year, and like I said, I rarely ever play this game, as off today. This is a completely new Mario and Luigi game. I'm pretty sure that when you first play it, you'll be super curious on what's gonna happen next. This happens a lot on video games, especially on new ones, unlike remake games.

As for the Gameplay, it improved, that's for sure. Not gonna spoil much about it, as you'll have to discover it by yourself. So, yeah, in the past, it was super addicting, but now, since I completed the game, I rarely ever play it. *Throws fireball at a Piranha Plant* Yay, Addictiveness Pi'illo has been rescued!

Good storyline...for a Mario game:8-  To be honest, I prefer the Mario and Luigi stories than the Mario stories that we all know. They share a better concept, and it's funner, and more interesting, as well. That goes for that game, too, but I give this one an 8 for two reasons:

1: Bowser is one of the two main antagonists, which in BIS, he was more like of a protagonist. And the final reason...

2: YOU HAVE TO SAVE PRINCESS PEACH AGAIN AHHH!!

Did I scare you? Lol. Other than those two flaws, the story is great! I'm only gonna explain the beginning, and nothing else.

SPOILERS AHEAD! Read at your own risk!

This game shares a creative beginning. You see, the Mario Bros. and Princess Peach are invited to Pi'illo Island. As they're going in the Balloon Air line, a mysterious vampire-like creature appears and attacks. That's all I'm gonna spoil. As you process, the story gets more interesting. *ACHOUM!* Sneezed, but it flew off another Goomba! Lucky us, we got the Story Pi'illo.

Why is that game soooooooooo long?10-  This is the first time I ever see a super long Mario game, besides Super Mario Galaxy 2. This game is much longer than you think. Because of its depth, it took me more than 2 weeks to finish it. This game introduces many new features, such as a dream adventure in Luigi's dreams. You have a lot of things to do. You won't be able to complete this game fully in one day. If you want to, though, you'll have to go beyond crazyness :P. BIS wasn't that long, but DT is waaaaay longer than any Mario game. I bet that this Mario and Luigi game took too much time to complete it, or it could be just me. *POW! SMASH!* We rescued the fifth Pi'illo! Hang on, we still have one left.

Hard game:7-  I found Dream Team harder than BIS, to be honest. Well, the game wasn't that hard, but it was harder than Bowser's Inside Story, that's for sure. I'm sure you will take many attempts to kill one single boss. I doubt that you can beat this game without even dying at least once. If you could do that, I will clap for you :P. I'm not exaggerating in the difficulty, just sharing my honest opinion. Like I said, this game isn't that hard, you just need to be skilled enough, level up Mario and Luigi to a strong level, and dodge as many attacks as possible. *SMASH!* Yes! We got the last Pi'illo! Let's visit Dr, Snoozemore now!

Overall: *Enters lab* Dr. Snoozemore! My reader and I got all six Pi'illos! Shall we place them in the overall generator there? No problem! *Places six pi'illos* Something's glowing, ah! 7.8, huh? Well, good score!

In overall, Mario and Luigi: Dream Team is an awesome game. I recommend it. If you're a fan of the mario and luigi series, then this game is a must! Thank you, reader, for helping me to rescue all six Pi'illos!

Also, I noticed that I write at least 1k words in my latest reviews. I don't do 1.5k words in reviews, but what can I say? Quality over Quantity, and it really depends on the game, and my opinion, of course. Anyway, thanks for reading my Dream Team review! :3.

Imagine having a 3DS game on an online platform that was released the year prior to that. Sounds... Reasonable.
