Dream Team, areal Dreamy Game~   Snodeca
--edit from 2020--
I added parts to the "addictiveness" AKA the replayability of the game.
--edit--
Jms please you suck and this review sucks. "small beef" "big beef" IT'S LIL' MASSIF 1 BIG MASSIF YOU DUMB***
I'm rewriting this in better English. <-- Probably bad english but idc.

Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, Difficulty, Overall?
Well, this game? Pure Amazingness.
And, surprisingly, I didn't make a review about the game. I was like, what? I thought I made one!
Well, because I didn't, I must do it now! :D
Alright, here goes!
Graphics: 9/10
Compared to a lot of games, this game has amazing graphics, it has natural places, it's luxury & old combined, very well detailed, but there are some cases in which the graphics seems weird.
The best example is before the first giant battle, where Dreambert gets mad, and his sprite gets really big, and his sprite looks like the graphics sucks, that one was.... No. Not acceptable. That's the con of it, so we got 8, but the giant battles sprites... This is just amazing...
And then, graphics has hit 9.
Sound: 10/10
I love the sounds, it has jumping sounds, walking sounds unlike the other games, and amazing songs.
My favorite soundtrack of this game, is Mount Pajama. Big Beef and Small beef, you too haz amazing musics :3 (Notice the bad English? :P )
If you have the game, and complete it, theres an amazing spoiler I wanna talk about but can't, because spoilers :P
Addictiveness: 7/10
Uhhh... This game can be addictive, but it is not very addictive to me, as for me: This game is the less addictive Mario & Luigi game. Why? I don't even know! Let me tell you: I DON'T KNOW! D:
This game is awesome and all, but after completing this whole game, it's long, and because the game is hard, it makes me want to not replay the game. Now, I need to complete the game without trying to get hit, and not using any healing stuff. Let me tell you: It's hard :P
I think that is the reason of why it isn't that addictive, but because of that: 7/10. :P
EDIT FROM SIX YEARS INTO THE FUTURE: Ever since I wrote this review, I found out about glitches one year later. After I found out, I started playing the game again. I started speedrunning this game and, soon after, got the world record speedrun for the game. My first time being a 7:54:??, back when the world record was 8:12:17. Since then, I have improved my time all the way down to a 4:14:37, with a lot of new glitches being discovered since then. It has become a whole lot addictive since then, putting it at a 10 out of 10 for me. I could talk about the game all day long if I wanted to. Maybe one day the speedrun will go under 4 hours long, who knows? It is currently impossible, but we just need a single more skip and the sub 4 hour dream is real, and it will happen in due to time.
BACK TO ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Story: 9/10
Peach gets kidnapped, saved, kidnap, save, kidnap, save, kidnap, save, kidnap, AND SAVE AGAIN...
No no no no, this is different.
Peach did not get kidnapped by Bowser this time, but this time, it was Antasma. Who saved Peach? Well, you can find that out when you play the game. Antasma is searching for power, and so he kidnaps Peach, by taking her in the dreamworld. Now, it's your turn to save her, again, but a whole story awaits you, and I must not spoil anything. 9/10.
Depth: 10/10
This game is actually short. Wait, 10?
This game is actually long. Wait, didn't you say short?
This game, is weird in length. You only need to do about 5-8 tasks to complete the game, but each task doesn't take 5-10 minutes; but at least 2-3 hours, even in speed running (the first task, too. The first task is actually about 1-1.5 hour, in speed running style) it takes that long, without speedrunning, it'll take 3-4 hours, at the least. Or else, if you skip through text, 5-8 hours. I didn't skip through text, but I just had to read that one text, and I skipped that one text... I was stuck at the same place for 11 HOURS.
It took me 70-80 hours to complete it, much longer then Super Mario World, which has 96 exits. Actually 98 :P But without glitches, 96.
Difficulty: 9/10
This game is actually difficult, you need to play through 60 hours, and after that you are only level 30, that's what happened to me, I skipped battles, but then, completing it the second time, I was level 40 and it took me 45 hours, it was easier, I knew where to go, and it was simpler.
The text box got messed up, had to copy the whole review, and reload the page. D:
Back on topic, the game is hard no matter what, I still need to aim for 100%. I got all the beans and saved all pi'illos, but now, A couple of spoilers, and some hard stuff... Only after that, I finised the game 100%, and it'll take me long time, and on my first time, I skipped most pi'llos. That's why it was harder :P
Overall: 9.7/10
One of the best games, but yet, not the best. If you really want to look forward to a good game like this one, check Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story. That's my favorite, most addictive Mario & Luigi Game.
2019 edit: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team is now my favourite game of all time. Thanks! :D
I love it.
It is a good game, and I definitely like the 2 games, you definitely need to buy both, they are amazing. :)
9.7 here and there :P
Well, Thanks for reading my review everyone! This is my longest review, and I really like the game, and you would maybe too :P Well, guess I'm off again, I had fun writing the review! :P
Bye everyone! :D

Wow...Just Wow   cmp81
Graphics:10
I have been a fan of the Mario rpg series since Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. I have watched the graphics improve over time, but in Dream Team they had been improved amazingly. I am a person who loves to see amazing graphics, I know there are those "8 bit people", and those graphics don't bother me. Just better graphics really make or break a game for me.
Sound:9
The sound is this game is great! Just as all of the Mario games, the music is always fun and catchy. The only reason this didn't get a ten is because even though I loved the soundtrack, it just doesn't totally pop out at me. I still love the sound though.
Addictiveness:10
Just like Pokémon X (I wrote a review for this game too if your interested) I couldn't put this game down. I didn't put it down until I had beat the game. I had been waiting for it for a while. I will most definitely play this again, just like all of the other Mario RPG's. I always and I still do go back and play all of the old ones (Thanks to vizzed!!). For me, every play through is more fun than the last!
Story:9
I loved the story in this game. Especially because our favorite star spirit is back! I loved the return of Starlow. I'm so glad that she is back from Bowser's Inside Story. That's not the only reason I loved the story, of course. I love a good story, and I thought this game gave one, better than all of the other RPG's. I was also a bit surprised that Antasma wasn't the final boss, but Bowser. Either way, it still was a great story to play through.
Depth:8
Anyone who is calling me crazy and wondering why I could give this amazing RPG and 8 in depth, I have my reasons :). First, I didn't think there was a large variety in places that you could go. Compared to the other RPG's in the series, I didn't think there was enough variety of places. Maybe nobody else feels this way but this is just what I thought. Also, there is nothing to do after you beat the game. Just like I said in my Pokémon X review, after game is one of my favorite things to do. In fact, you can't even play after you beat the game, it just loads you to your last save. I mean this is fine and all, but I would love it if there was after game game play.
Difficulty:
Mario and Luigi Dream Team was a bit challenging at times, but overall a pretty easy game. That is, until you get to hard mode. I'll talk about that later though. I almost never had to re battle a boss a trillion times, except one. Sadly I don't remember it's name so I can't write it in this review. I also found the last giant battle a little challenging. I love a little challenge, and this game never frustrated me at all, so I thought it had the perfect balance of difficulty.
Final Thoughts:
The only other thing that I wanted to talk about but I didn't know where to put it is hard mode. If you haven't beaten the game yet, it a an extra mode that is unlocked where you can start a new game but all the enemies are crazy tough. When I say crazy tough I MEAN crazy tough. The first little enemies you fight will two or three hit you. I haven't gotten to really play it yet, because I would probably drive myself crazy trying to play it. I thought this was a really nice edition for those hardcore players. It is the first time anything like this has been done in one of the Mario RPG.
Overall:9.5
Mario RPG was an amazing game and probably my favorite in the series. There are very few things in this game that could be considered a negative. I had so much fun playing through this game and trying to beat everything. I also love to get myself to the highest rank. (In Bowser's Inside Story I got myself the "secret" rainbow rank.) I was totally addicted to this game. The only reason this didn't get a 10 was because of the depth. The no after game game play. I realize that this is nothing new to the series but this game would really wow me if they could add at least something after game. That's all I have to say thank you for reading. :).

Dreamy, Just Dreamy!   Uzar
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team is the most recent installment of the Mario & Luigi series. It's often overlooked in my opinion. Seeing as how everyone raves about Bowser's Inside Story, along with the original Superstar Saga (Praise for this game are as rare as praise for Partners in Time). Rightfully so, but despite the minimalistic cover, this game has earned it's place as a sequel to those fantastic games.
So, let's not dilly dally along any farther. We've got...a....review...to do...Zzzzz...
*dream portal to Dreamy Vizzed opens*
Graphics: 9/10
How can I describe these graphics. They're, well, dreamy! Most of this game is all in sprites, like the games before it. But these sprites look fantastic! Who says sprite games are irrelevant?
The scenery is pretty good. Most locations can be described as Superstar Saga on steroids. Places like Mount Pajamaja, and Driftwood Shore have visuals similar to SSS. But with new visual perks to them. Then you have a few places like Somnom Woods and the Dream World that look and feel totally new. The Dream World especially since...it is totally new.
About the Dream World; half of the game is spent in there. And it looks and feels very different to the normal world. I'll touch more in depth on it in a later segment though. But graphically, it's pretty impressive. For starters; on the bottom screen we've got a 3D Starlow and Luigi. Luigi reacts to things that happen in the dream, which is pretty cool. As for the visuals, it's a strange version of what you've already gone through in the normal world's version of each location. Sometimes you might find dream versions of people also. There are also Luigi's that run around every now and then. And sometimes you may even see a thought or two.
When you get a pile of Luiginoids (Luigi's dream clones. About 400 of them to be exact) they all do different things during each action. And the fact they are all animated is impressive.
Another thing on the Dream World. There are times when Luigi gets giant. Yes, exactly like Bowser did in BiS. When he does, you're treated to a glorious 3D modeled battle! With the 3DS Tilted though. So don't expect Luigi's nose to pop out of the screen. :P
The NPC's all look nice. They range from Toads and Yoshi's, to Beans and people in costume. Then we have Chippy-er Starlow looking as chipper as ever. And Dreambert, our new floating companion. As cool as he is, he's also the reason this game didn't get a perfect 10 in the graphics department. Sometimes he'll yell, and his head grows huge. And with a sprite being enlarged 200%, it looks kinda ugly. Thankfully that's a rare occurrence.
Sound: 10/10
This game has a great soundtrack! I loved most of it. The music for each location (Real and otherwise) is all splendid. They're atmospheric for the most part. But a few tracks are just plain forgettable. Only a few bosses have their own (Freaking awesome) battle theme. But outside of them, the bosses all have one battle theme. Which is pretty cool, but lackluster at the same time. And the normal battle theme isn't as cool as the ones from previous games. But it's still nice nonetheless. It's a mixture of fantastic, and...Eh.
The sound effects are great! Besides the usual jumping, and the weird noise used in text bubbles. Mario and Luigi speak jibberish, outside of "Let's-a-go!" and "Oh yeah!" and the occasional "Okie dokie". In the Dream World it's basically the same thing. Only with Luiginoids about, Luigi's sound effects play a bunch of times at the same time. And it's not as annoying (Or hard on the ears) as you'd think.
BUT WE'RE NOT DONE YET! Peach always says or yells "MARIO! LUIGI!". Bowser roars, or does an evil laugh. Yoshis say, well, Yoshi. And Dreambert laughs, yells, and makes this unintelligible noise. But it's cool to see people other than <strike>Mayro and Luggy</strike> Mario and Luigi getting the only voice roles. Overally the music is a mixture of forgettable, and amazing. It along with the sound effects are crisp, and very well done.
Addictiveness: 8/10
MAN is this game addictive! It could be just the fun battles. But I couldn't put this game down most of the time! The funny dialogue, the worlds, the puzzles and cool enemies. All these make a recipe for an incredibly addictive game. And after completing it, you've given access to a Hard Mode. Which may call some people to giving it a second playthrough. Unless you're me. In which case you complete it, review it, then play again. :P It's the same as the normal mode, only the enemies have more HP, deal more damage, and if you fall in battle you can't restart the fight. I would mention the minigames, but they are really out of the way. But you can win some coins, and DX Beans from them. But they're not as addictive as the normal game, oddly enough. However the camera puzzle ones are pretty fun.
Depth: 5/10
Depth, oh depth. How you're never often rated high. This game isn't quite as deep as it's predecessors. Although I don't remember much depth there either...Anyway, the main story itself goes on for awhile. Actually it's one of the longer games I've played on the 3DS.
There's not really any sidequests to do. There is one trade quest that's required to be done, but trust me, you're not going to accidentally miss it. Outside of that, you can go to every area and dig up all the beans buried around. Exactly like in Superstar Saga, only without that amazing Starbeans and E. Gadd. This time around, you eat 'em whole, and can boost stats by doing so! Or you can visit Kylie Koopa and play the camera puzzle miningame for DX Beans which grant you three points to any stat.
Then you can also choose to rescue all the Pi'illo folk scattered throughout the land. Doing so will grant you an awesome reward! Although to be fair, I didn't know that not rescuing them was an option.
There are two other minigames, but honestly I didn't care enough to play them voluntarily to see what I could get from them. lol
Story: 8/10
The story is actually pretty good. It actually doesn't become a "Rescue Peach lmao" for very long. This time around, Mario and crew are invited to Pi'illo Island. An island full of ruins, but a man named Dr. Snoozemore, along with Broque Monsiuer are turning it into a resort as well. And our motley crew are exclusively invited to visit. But upon arriving, Mario and Luigi get into some hyjinxs, Luigi <z>s</z>leeps on an ancient pillow and a portal opens around his head. But a dark force of spookiness pulls Peach in. Mario shatters some nightmare crystal and frees Dreambert. A Pi'llo, who were thought to have gone extinct. As it turns out they were all turned into petrified pillows. Now they're on a quest to rescue Peach, the Pi'llo folk, and get to the bottom of that strange force. Oh, and Bowser? He's somewhere in there too. You'll see.
Anyway, the story goes on for awhile. you can probably go through it faster than I did. It may not be as tense as Partners in Time, or Bowser's Inside Story. It, along with a lot of the general tones of this game seem to return to the lighter story of the first game. Although there are points near the end where the heat is kicked up.
Difficulty: 7/10
This game isn't the hardest around. You'll actually not have very much trouble at all if you follow the game's advice when it tells you to fight as many enemies as you can to keep leveling up. The enemies are all really unique. And if you fight whatever comes your way, it won't be too bad. But about two-thirds of the way through, the enemies step it up in terms of damage and how hard it is to dodge their attacks.
In the Dream World though, there are a LOT more enemies in each battle. But never fear! As Dreamy Luigi powers you up. Combining BOTH Mario's and Luigi's stats. And he'll jump on every enemy next to it. And he'll cause a huge shockwave.
The bosses aren't too terrible, but they WILL wreck you if you're not careful. It's kinda easy, but never let your guard down.
The controls are smooth. You use the Circle Pad to move, A for all Mario's moves, and B for Luigi's. And occasionally using the Land R buttons to change what they can do. And occasionally you use the touch screen to mess with Luigi as he <z>s</z>leeps. :P
*wakes up* O-oh! That's right! I OVERSLEPT! I gotta finish the review!
This is a solid, fun, and overall enjoyable game from start to finish. It's one I had lots of fun with, and I'm sure anyone who likes RPG's, or at least the Mario & Luigi series will find it enjoyable also. And if you're new to the series, or never played the older games. This is a good one to start with too. :) Well, you might be confused as to who the heck Starlow is, or catch all the references to Superstar Saga. But you're not going to miss TOO much.
Either way, you're going to have a lot of fun with this game. The writing is well done, the jokes are funny, and you'll want to keep going with it. :)

Luigi: *Yawns*   greenluigi
Hello, Vizzians and Dreamers! Welcome back to another Mario review! So, do you love dreams? Do you love dreamy games? Well, this game is just for you! Ah, Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, released on July 2013 (The month and year I signed up!), is an amazing RPG. Trust me, you'll love it! May I ask you something? Yes? Yay. Will you help me on my journey to collect six Pi'illos? Thanks! They're trapped, so we gotta save them! Their names are: Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty. After we all rescue them, we must take them to Dr. Snoozemore's lab, and thanks to his Overall Generator, we should be able to review them! We must begin the review now, or else it will be too late! C'mon!
Shiny Graphics~:10-  The latest Mario and Luigi game shares amazing, and colorful graphics! Compared to its predecessor, Bowser's Inside Story, Dream Team's graphics are much better. Mario's design has improved, so did Luigi. I mean, come on, this is a 2013 game, so I'm sure these graphics deserve a full grade, right? How about we take a look of the graphics of the Mario and Luigi history, shall we?
SupeStar Saga-Meh.
Partners in Time-Better, but still meh.
Bowser's inside story-Good!
Dream Team-Excellent! Perfect!
See how its graphics improved during the years? Cool, right? In addition, its animation improved so much. You see, Mario's jumping animation has been improved, and it's better. Bowser's flames are cooler, and basically, every animation and cutscenes are much cooler and better! Now, would you excuse me, I must... *KA! POW! SMASH!* Sorry about that. Just KO'ed a Koopa Troopa, and we rescued our first Pi'illo! We punched the Koopa 10 times, so it's a 10/10 on the Graphics section!
Not the best soundtrack:7-  Dream Team doesn't have the best soundtrack, in my opinion. Bowser's Inside Story had a much better one. Some of its themes are great, while others are... Okay, I guess. I don't call its soundtrack catchy, you know? Some of its theme are so... cuty? baby? Lol, didn't mean to be rude, here :P. Some themes are better than BIS, such as the boss battle theme for example. Sorry, I don't know what much to say about here. Anyway... *KA! POW! SMASH! STOMP!* Yay, squashed a Gomba, and we rescued the Sound Pi'illo! Okay, it's not the time for celebration. Dr. Snoozemore is waiting for us! We should hurry, or someone like Bowser kidnaps him!
Very addicting game back then:5- Today, I rarely ever play this game. When I first got it, I used to play it every day during Christmas Break. I beat it last year, and like I said, I rarely ever play this game, as off today. This is a completely new Mario and Luigi game. I'm pretty sure that when you first play it, you'll be super curious on what's gonna happen next. This happens a lot on video games, especially on new ones, unlike remake games.
As for the Gameplay, it improved, that's for sure. Not gonna spoil much about it, as you'll have to discover it by yourself. So, yeah, in the past, it was super addicting, but now, since I completed the game, I rarely ever play it. *Throws fireball at a Piranha Plant* Yay, Addictiveness Pi'illo has been rescued!
Good storyline...for a Mario game:8-  To be honest, I prefer the Mario and Luigi stories than the Mario stories that we all know. They share a better concept, and it's funner, and more interesting, as well. That goes for that game, too, but I give this one an 8 for two reasons:
1: Bowser is one of the two main antagonists, which in BIS, he was more like of a protagonist. And the final reason...
2: YOU HAVE TO SAVE PRINCESS PEACH AGAIN AHHH!!
Did I scare you? Lol. Other than those two flaws, the story is great! I'm only gonna explain the beginning, and nothing else.
SPOILERS AHEAD! Read at your own risk!
This game shares a creative beginning. You see, the Mario Bros. and Princess Peach are invited to Pi'illo Island. As they're going in the Balloon Air line, a mysterious vampire-like creature appears and attacks. That's all I'm gonna spoil. As you process, the story gets more interesting. *ACHOUM!* Sneezed, but it flew off another Goomba! Lucky us, we got the Story Pi'illo.
Why is that game soooooooooo long?10-  This is the first time I ever see a super long Mario game, besides Super Mario Galaxy 2. This game is much longer than you think. Because of its depth, it took me more than 2 weeks to finish it. This game introduces many new features, such as a dream adventure in Luigi's dreams. You have a lot of things to do. You won't be able to complete this game fully in one day. If you want to, though, you'll have to go beyond crazyness :P. BIS wasn't that long, but DT is waaaaay longer than any Mario game. I bet that this Mario and Luigi game took too much time to complete it, or it could be just me. *POW! SMASH!* We rescued the fifth Pi'illo! Hang on, we still have one left.
Hard game:7-  I found Dream Team harder than BIS, to be honest. Well, the game wasn't that hard, but it was harder than Bowser's Inside Story, that's for sure. I'm sure you will take many attempts to kill one single boss. I doubt that you can beat this game without even dying at least once. If you could do that, I will clap for you :P. I'm not exaggerating in the difficulty, just sharing my honest opinion. Like I said, this game isn't that hard, you just need to be skilled enough, level up Mario and Luigi to a strong level, and dodge as many attacks as possible. *SMASH!* Yes! We got the last Pi'illo! Let's visit Dr, Snoozemore now!
Overall: *Enters lab* Dr. Snoozemore! My reader and I got all six Pi'illos! Shall we place them in the overall generator there? No problem! *Places six pi'illos* Something's glowing, ah! 7.8, huh? Well, good score!
In overall, Mario and Luigi: Dream Team is an awesome game. I recommend it. If you're a fan of the mario and luigi series, then this game is a must! Thank you, reader, for helping me to rescue all six Pi'illos!
Also, I noticed that I write at least 1k words in my latest reviews. I don't do 1.5k words in reviews, but what can I say? Quality over Quantity, and it really depends on the game, and my opinion, of course. Anyway, thanks for reading my Dream Team review! :3.

Mario and Luigi Dream Team: The Greatest RPG   ChubbaAustin
You knew this review was coming folks. I did a review on Superstar Saga, how could I not do one on this masterpiece? Alright, first up are graphics. The graphics look pretty amazing. Mario and Luigi have very nice, animated poses. For some reason I've also always loved the fact that Mario and Luigi dance during battles. Graphics gets a 9. Now, for one of the most amazing parts of this game: sound. The sound is AMAZING. The battle theme: LOVE IT. The boss theme: CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT. The final battle theme: AWESOME. Sound gets a 10. Now, for addictiveness. Mario & Luigi RPG games have always been super addicting. Like I said in my review for Superstar Saga, I could play these games tons of times. Addictiveness gets a 9. Now for story. Princess Peach gets a invitation to Pillo Island, a so-called 'carefree' and 'relaxing' resort. Of course, our heroes in overalls go too. Eventually Bowser goes to the island too, forming an alliance with the evil Antasma. Princess Peach gets kidnapped, you know the drill. Story gets a 8. Ah, depth. This game, on my first playthrough, took me 35 hours to get to the final boss. There's just so much to do- sidequest-wise and story-wise. Depth gets a 10. Finally, difficulty. This game can be HARD. Even my level 34 Mario & Luigi couldn't take out the final boss without using 'easy mode'. Some of the boss fights though, are utterly easy. The boss theme makes them epic though. Difficulty gets an even 5, cause I couldn't really think of any other rating. Overall, this game is just amazing. I would BUY a 3DS just because of this game. It's a very big, fun, exciting Platformer mixed with an RPG. It truly lives up to the Plumbers amazing RPG beginnings. Overall I give this game.... A PERFECT 10!

too bad vizzed doesn't have it ):

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
