There are quite a few games that I like playing on the original Gameboy. Most of them would include the games in the Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Land series. These games are fun/challenging, and a few of the later ones were really advanced graphically and soundwise for an 8-bit black and white handheld system. Wario Land (Super Mario Land 3) is a perfect example of this. It was a simple game with really great graphics and sound. Not only that, but a lot of the challenge wasn't about beating the levels but more about collecting things in order to get a better ending.

One of the best Game Boy games I ever played was Burgertime Deluxe. I like the original BurgerTime so playing a newer version of that was very cool. I have Burgertime Deluxe on my 3DS, but it's too bad my 3DS is nearly unplayable (the top screen is extremely loose).

Another great one is Super Mario Land. I always thought the music was catchy and the jumping physics gave the game a nice challenge.

The best Game Boy game that I've played is Mario Land 3: Wario Land. I have played that game WAY too many times for my own good. Unfortunately, I played the game so much that the save feature on the game kinda doesn't work anymore. Still, it's a game that everyone can enjoy and have fun with.

For me it's going to be Pokemon Gold, mostly because it was amazing, but also because it was my first in many categories. First Game Boy game, first Nintendo game, first video game I ever picked out myself. It's also my favorite of all the Pokemon games because of being able to play both regions. Put so many hours into this game and so many full playthroughs as well.

I assume you meant all Game Boy versions. I will list all my favorite Game Boy games 

Classic Game Boy 

Mega Man V was my favorite. I liked this game because it can be played on the Super Game Boy app and in color. It is also a Mega Man game. I liked the sound, graphics and I really liked the story. It is one of the best games ever 

Mega Man IV was my second favorite. I really liked this game for the same reason I liked Mega Man V. The graphics, sound, plot and depth are really good in this game.

Wario Land 2- This was one of my first Game Boy Color games that I got. i really enjoyed it. The graphics were nice as well as the music. Plus it introduced the character Wario to me. This game made me a Wario fan.

Kirby's Dreamland 2- This one was unique and was fun. I liked the characters in this Kirby Game. I also liked the music and graphics.

Good question. For me, it is a close call between pokemon Red/Blue and Gold/Silver. I think I am leaning slightly towards Gold and Silver because I really like the fact that the game has more color, allows you to travel back to the Kanto Region, and it also contains some of my favorite pokemon.

Metroid II and Mega Man are also up there as well. I played those on my GameBoy quite a bit.

Just a few games off the top of my head? Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Wario Land, Maru's Mission, Kirby's Dream Land, and Micro Machines, I spent a lot of time as a kid playing these games. There are a few others as well, obviously Pokemon is another one, that game I spent hours playing, both Pokémon Red and Yellow.

I think that Link's Awakening is pretty incredible for the huge experience it offers, especially for fitting all of that on a GB cartridge. 

Pokemon Red/Blue have a similar effect. They feel like a complete journey.

Also, Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins is amazing and I feel that people rarely talk about it.

Link's Awakening is really great, but if you do decide to play it, definitely have a walkthrough on hand in order to complete the item trading sequence.

I haven't played the original Wario Land, but I have played Wario Land 3! I want to play it through, I'll get around to the original and the other games in the series at some point, for sure.

When I was a kid (around 5-12 years old) I think these were the best GB games:
-The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening
-Castlevania: Belmont's Revenge
-Super Mario Land 2: The 6 Golden Coins
