Personally, I like Raichu. It's just very hard sometimes to train a Pikachu until level. 42 or so so it learns Thunder, because Raichu doesn't learn any new attacks, that sucks by the way. I just end up on not even bothering with a Pikachu or Raichu. Once I bred a Pichu with Volt Tackle and trained him to a Raichu, but at that point I had the patience. I'd rather take Pokémon like Electabuzz and get him to an Electivire. Pure Electric Pokémon are the Pokémon with the least amount of weaknesses!

I know a lot of people like Pikachu better ( mainly because he is in the anime) but personally I would choose Raichu. Overall for pretty much any pokemon the evolved form is stronger, learns better moves, better stats and basically just better. In my opinion Raichu is no different, however I would train Pikachu up to at least level 50 before I evolved it (because it learns Thunder at level 50 and Raichu doesn't learn any moves) but I would definitely evolve it after that. Pikachu is not a bad Pokemon but overall I prefer Raichu for his stats and power.
