Hey, welcome back to this series!

In part 1 we started off with the one that started the Super Mario series: Super Mario Bros. Now we fast-forward from 1985 to 1996 for this one: Super Mario 64. That’s because I’m only revealing these endings for games I have actually beaten. XD

I discovered that if I grab 255 stars from Super Mario 64 in one session, a message pops up on the screen telling me more about the ending to one of the best Mario games of all time! (Unless you're a fan of the science behind Super Mario 64, you won't appreciate the 255 star thing. )

So we went from 2D Mario to 3D Mario! But how much have the characters changed since then, excluding appearance? Well, not at all. The circumstances have though. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for you never seeing this game the same way again. This is only for fun and I decided to post it.

TRANSITION

The beginning of the end was Mario falling down to the ground of the outside of Peach’s castle with wings on his cap. He wasn’t falling fast, though. That dude had the smoothest and most harmless fall I have ever seen. When he reached the ground, his wings died and vanished from existence. Mario darted his eyes and head around and then he realized he should be looking upwards.

There, in front of the beautiful stained-glass window of Princess Peach without a face, was the giant star he stole from Bowser! It spun around, nothing like a fidget spinner, and then it worked its magic. Wait, that’s no longer a star! It’s Princess Peach floating there and… apparently sleeping? Uhhhh… she floated down while Lakitu spun around her many times in clear excitement.

Out of nowhere came 2 Toads. Princess Peach stood on the ground in the middle of the Toads. Mario ran towards her and took off his hat in respect for her surviving yet again. Suddenly, Peach woke up. She looked around and her eyes widened.

She brought her arms down and exclaimed, “Mario!”

Peach looked to the left. I-I mean her right, stating the obvious fact that, “The power of the Stars is restored to the castle…”

Lakitu happily moved the camera upward so he could have an excuse to look at that stain-glass window again. Lucky for him, beautiful, hurrying blue birds flew in front of it, obstructing his view ever so slightly but giving him something great to film.

Peach finally looked at Mario and, long overdue, finished her sentence. “…and it’s all thanks to you!”

She added, “Thank you, Mario!”

Still without moving, the princess told Mario, “We have to do something special for you…”

The princess walked forward, leaned down, and Lakitu zoomed in at unbelievably fast speed as Mario received a kiss on the nose from the one he saved. With Lakitu’s camera still in his face and with Toad’s big head in view, Mario held his eyes half open, moved his head as if he was about to sneeze.

And then Lakitu zoomed out so quickly again that he should have received a promotion right then and there. Mario spun around several times while putting his cap back on. He must have thought saving Peach was just as thrilling as grabbing a star. Because she was his star.

Mario yelled, “Here we goooooo!” and did a peace sign, facing Lakitu.

Lakitu did it again! He shifted the camera view to be above the other characters, maybe to make himself feel more powerful.

“Listen, everybody,” Peach told the Toads, “let’s bake a delicious cake…”

The Toads began walking away, ready to get to work. Peach soon followed.

She finished her sentence with, “…for Mario…”

Mario had no idea what to do. He stood there and watched them go inside the castle. He began walking towards them but then stopped to stare at Lakitu or whatever he wanted to see.

Peach immediately realized Mario wasn’t following her, so she called out to him, “Mario!”

At last Mario ran towards them and then Lakitu did his last great camera movement. He pointed his camera right at the sun (I hope he wasn’t looking) and recorded the blue birds flying up and away. Where were they the whole time? Oh, who knows…

Lakitu went on a journey to fly through courses on his cloud while Peach and the Toads rushed to bake Mario’s cake. Once that was done, Luigi had arrived at the castle to see everyone so he took Lakitu’s place as cameraman. Luigi zoomed out while Mario and Peach waved at the camera. The Toads just hopped in place because that’s all they could do at the moment.

Lakitu swooped into view. He nearly crashed into the camera but flew over it just in time. Then, Mario’s cake was ready. Mini versions of him and Peach stood on the top of the delicious cake. A small sign on it read “THANK YOU”.

But what you came here for what happens next, right? Oh sorry. I just wanted to set the stage for the good stuff.

TRANSITION AGAINNNNNNNNNNNN

In the castle’s top floor, in front of Tick Tock Clock…

Mario : “Wow, Peach! This is a delicious cake!”

peach : “Oh Mario, I knew you would say that! These 2 Toads and I worked very hard on it.”

Both Toads (casually bouncing): “YEAH!”

Mario : “But it was made within minutes! How in the Mushroom Kingdom doorknobs did you do that?”

peach : “Don’t worry about it. Just enjoy it.”

Mario (slams fork down on plate): “No, I’m curious! How can you bake a cake in just a few minutes and add you and I and a thank you sign on it?”

peach : “Well, it wasn’t just me! The Toads helped me too!

Both Toads (casually bouncing): “YEAH!”

Mario : “Wait… why do I feel like you said something about a cake before?”

peach : “I don’t know.”

Mario : “It might have been a dream, but I feel like I’d be able to tell.”

peach : “Well, it’s been a weird day. Finish your cake and get some rest.”

Both Toads (casually bouncing): “YEAH!”

Mario : “WILL YOU stop it?”

Both Toads (casually bouncing): “YEA—uh…”

Peach and Mario : :/

For a few minutes, all 4 of them didn’t speak a word. Everyone ate their slice of cake, but the Toads kept spilling crumbs because they were bouncing and with every bite of cake they had, they felt more hyper. Eventually, they finished their slices of cake. They looked at each other and then one of them took off running. The other one followed a second later, with no hesitation.

peach : “What are you doing? Ugh, I forgot what cake does to already energetic ones like you.”

Toad #1: “I DON’T KNOW! I JUST STARTED RUNNING! AND THEN THIS DUDE FOLLOWS ME!”

Toad #2: “DON’T WORRY! JUST EAT YOUR CAKE!”

Mario : “Wow. Well, at least they provide some brief entertainment before I can’t stand it anymore.”

peach : “I know, right? Sometimes they’re so cute and funny.”

Toad #2: “Iheardthat! Thankyousomuch!”

Toad #1: “YEAH!”

Mario : “Yeah is banned from your vocabulary! Got it?”

Toad #1: “Y—uh absolutely!”

Mario : “Wait, I know! It just came to me, Peach! The letter you sent me stated that you had already baked a cake for me! That was THE WHOLE POINT I CAME TO THE CASTLE! It’s like… the cake is a lie!”

peach : “Bowser forced me to write that letter. That’s why I thought it would be a good idea to actually bake you one afterwards.”

Mario : “Oh. Sorry. But that still doesn’t explain how you made it so quickly.”

peach : “Oh, that’s because as the princess of the kingdom, I’m supposed to know how to bake a cake so fast in case I get kidnapped and somebody saves me. And that’s where the Toads came in.”

Mario : “Interesting. Well that’s cool! I should have figured the Toads were so hyper that they could help you do it in minutes. And all their kinetic energy could create so much heat around the cake that you didn’t need to use anything else. This makes sense.”

peach : “Thank you for understanding. Now let’s celebrate some more! If you’re up for it of course.”

Mario : “Yes I am! These Toads are going to keep me awake all day anyway.”

Both Toads (bouncing up to the ceiling): “YYYYYYYYYYAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Nice extended story ending. I wish the games would end that well. Also I'm not super into the super sciency glitchy stuff with games in general, I did manage to beat Super Mario 64 though with all 120 stars. Finally I got to go visit yoshi! ( Also perfected Super Mario Sunshine [3x!!!] and perfected super Mario galaxy as both Mario and luigi! I almost perfected Super Mario Galaxy 2, but I haven't been able to finish the final challenge...the Perfect Run. Take the hardest and longest level in super mario galaxy [the last in the special world] and complete it without ever getting hit once! You get hit once, you die and restart all the way back at the beginning!
