How frequently do you pick up a book and read part of it, or maybe even the whole thing at once? Most people I know in real life would probably say they don't even have the time to read books anymore. I struggle to find the time to read, especially on a regular basis.

This of course depends on whether I'm in school or it's a break time. During the school year, I read a few times a month, but I have to read almost every day for a week when we receive an assigned novel. During the summertime, I have more time to read so I read a few times a week. Usually I only read for half an hour at a time since I keep wanting to do other things.

I've moved to comics and manga, but I did use to read books. In fact, I had the project of collecting the whole series of a certain writer, but I just don't find myself with time to read.

While in school, I read at every single break I had for being too absorbed by a certain book, which eventually moved me to buy the two sequels it has (one wasn't even written at that time lol). I can get absorbed way too easily, by books and by many other things, so now I tend to be more careful with that. I haven't tried to see if I've solved the absorption problem regarding books, but I don't want to risk drifting off from my business right now, so it's going to last for a longer while.

EX Palen : I used to have the same problem with getting too intrigued with a book or even a series. I would read a book a day and rush through an entire series. I'm glad I don't do that anymore because that felt so disappointing.

Once I'm in college, I think I'll stick to the same kind of plan. I might only stick to reading what I'm assigned in college, mainly reading things I need to research.

I enjoy reading a lot, so I tend to read a lot though recently that's more just reading magazines and newspapers than actual books. Mainly because I like to be socially active on the Internet and reading books eats into the spare time I have I guess...

I have however read all the Harry potter books, the eragon books and some other books at least once a year... Books are great to fall asleep to and are also great to take a break from technology.... So perhaps if I actually decided to buy new books I'd read a lot more

But as Ex Palen mentioned earlier I also read manga from time to time... but only really when I become interested in an anime that is no longer going to be continued just so that I can find out what happens after it stopped.

Sonicmcmuffin : My reading almost always ends up being my way to take a rest from being on any type of screen. Talking to my friends typically requires me to text them, which would be using a screen. So instead I read and that feels more satisfying.

Books are perfect to fall asleep to if you aren't fully interested in them. My teachers have told us that studying right before bed will knock you out more than anything else, which is kind of reading but mixed with memorization.

It's weird. I constantly buy books that I want to read but never get around to reading them. I have more than 100 books that I want to read, yet never started because of other things. I have really gotten into reading the online versions of many of these books since Christmas, so that helped getting back into the groove of reading a bit, usually read close to 1000 pages a month among all the books.

I usually read a little bit every night, or at least I try to. I really enjoy reading and find that it's a great way to unwind before I go to bed.

Now that it's summer, I have a lot more free time to actually sit down and read, so I stay quite a bit later doing just that. Sometimes if I find a series or book really good, I'll read through the whole thing in one night, just reading non-stop. I haven't done that for a few weeks though.

As I kid, I read books all the time, starting with normal children's books, and then more teen books when I was in middle school. Then my preference evolved to manga, and I read normal books less frequently. And then I read normal books only if I had to for school. Now all I want to read is manga and fanfics. I have tried getting into normal books again, but either I don't have the time for it, or it can't keep my attention.

It's not often. I rarely read for pleasure anymore, never really did to begin with, but now that I'm busy with other things to do and study for, I just haven't found the motivation to read a book, knowing that I'd probably have to get through it.

I am covered in books that I have to read for school, on all different subjects, most of them I never find interesting.

I used to read ultimo and one piece, but now that I haven't bought any new books recently, and haven't really had motivation to go online, I have just struggled to keep up with those series.

zanderlex: Sadly, I have that problem. I have 2 books that I got for Christmas last year but I haven't read them yet. It's hard for me to read much unless I get books from the library, which makes me read them all before the deadline to return them.

Fishergirl7 : I was bad about thinking I'd read a little bit before bed during the school year, but instead I stay up until midnight finishing a book. That made me too tired the next morning so I eventually got myself to stop.

xxAriaxx : I'm now more interested in making stories than reading them. And most of my stories are short ones filled with comedy, and even about video game characters. Hopefully I'll get around to reading those books I got for Christmas before

Throughout elementary and high school I read all the time, almost voraciously. I'd read and finished the Harry Potter series by the time I was in fifth grade, but beginning in sixth grade, I began to discover anime and manga. While I still read pretty frequently, anime like Naruto and Dragon Ball Z began to compete for my attention. From ninth grade up until now, I'd say I finish a book every 3-4 weeks depending on the size of the book and how heavy my workload is. If I'm required to read a book or textbook for a class, then that takes priority over my own personal reading. Even though my interest in reading hasn't dwindled, the amount of free time I have to do so definitely has...drastically.

I read every single day, typically when I crawl in bed at night. I've found it's a great way to relax and prepare for a good night's sleep. Although, I must admit that if I'm reading a particularly engrossing book, sometimes I lose track of time and end up staying awake later than I should.

I read every single day basically. I quite often have more than 1 book going at a time as well. I have my book for the bus (which is usually smaller so it fits in my bag easier) and I have my book by my bed which is bigger.

I love reading and I wish I had more time to do it. Quite often my wife and I stay up extra late reading at night in order to have time to do it and sacrifice sleep.

SacredShadow: Wow, that's cool! Finishing a book every 3-4 weeks is a pretty good pace in my opinion. For my standards, that's really good. I've had to read my AP Psychology textbook so lately that has been most of my reading. My interest in reading has definitely plummeted since my school year started.

Deacon DeMan : I used to do that too! I read before bed but I'd get so caught up in it that I stay up an hour later than intended.

geeogree : At this point, I think I'd have to stay up later every night in order to do everything I want or should do. But I'm actually trying to reverse that and go to bed earlier so I get enough rest for the school day.

Boured : During the school year I'm the same way usually. All the reading I have to do for school wipes out my interest in reading anything else. I feel like I have to always be doing something instead of sitting there and reading.

Pacman+Mariofan : yeah, I feel that way a lot of the time. I have so many books that I want to read but I only have 45 minutes or so on the bus each way to and from work and the little time before I go to bed at night to read. It is never enough time.

Yeah, I don't really read too often, even though I should at least try to expand my horizons. I read a lot with the internet, so I guess it would lead to me reading more books. At least I have a manga backlog!
Yeah, I don't really read too often, even though I should at least try to expand my horizons. I read a lot with the internet, so I guess it would lead to me reading more books. At least I have a manga backlog!

geeogree : Having a bus ride to work sounds nice. I'd like to think I would use that as a study hall or reading time, but knowing myself very well, I know I'd just be on my phone chatting with my friends and checking out their Instagram stories. :/

The only time I for sure would take advantage of is a 15+ minute window before bed. That sometimes isn't a good plan, like if I'm reading a book that has really long chapters.

pacman1755 : For a while I wasn't interested in adding variety to the books I read. I actually read the same books over and over because I liked them so much. I'm a comics type of guy

Well if you include the Bible as a book or a bunch of books depending on your perspective. I read my Bible every other day. Other books that I read are baseball and football books. I also enjoy garfield and Mutts oh and Beetle Bailey
