I don't know where I got this from, but I always feel like I need brain stimulation. During job training last week, I had to listen to a colleague teach me the basics. I was just sitting there and I felt like falling asleep. But when I am doing the work, unless I slept less than 6 hours, I have no problem.

The same thing goes at home. Unless I am doing physical activity or stimulating brain activity like reading or computer, I fall asleep. Thankfully, I play daily games like Kenken and Sudoku, the latter of which has such an inconsistent level of difficulty. An "easy" game can take me between 2:30 to over 4:00.

Anyway, what keeps your gray matter alive?

I'll be honest, I have trouble keeping away from mental stagnation due to how boring life can be. I'm very found of puzzles, and those are the best thing to keep my mind active, but I run out of puzzles a lot.

So, I turn to stimulants. I drink a whole bunch of coffee and that usually helps a lot. I just can't stand not using my brain, but it's so difficult to use it when there's nothing to do.

It's somewhat similar to how Sherlock Holmes injected himself with a small mixture of cocaine to stay stimulated when there wasn't a case for him to consult.

I enjoy doing all kind of things to keep that going. I do word searches, I have a couple of mobile games I really enjoy playing. I love to make , repair and mod computer programs. It presents  a really good challenge, and some of them will really keep it going, and when I feel lucky, I like to work on older computer and laptops. Ready art and music are some of the other ones I do a lot. I do make a point to try to learn something new everyday.

I find that playing word search games or any game where you create words such as text twist always keeps my brain stimulated I used to do a crossword puzzle game every sunday in one of my local newspapers but since I never seem to have the time to do them anymore I go to msn games and play some of their word search games another thing I like to do is play online card games such as spider solitaire which I also find helps keep me thinking

Typically, I have to stimulate my brain by reading. I like crossword puzzles but I don't want to do them often. When I wake up in the morning, I usually need to make my brain awake enough by going on my phone, which usually requires a lot of reading with texts, social media, etc. Also, I've noticed that it's much easier to do tough activities after reading a couple chapters of an intriguing novel that's at my reading level.

My mind just kind of wanders all the time, so I don't think I've ever had a problem with keeping it stimulated. I don't have much of an attention span at all, so if something's boring me or not holding my attention, I'll typically just kinduh space out and think about stuff or play out hypothetical scenarios in my head. The bonus thing here is that I can usually work out a plan and a backup plan in advance of stuff so I don't have to make snap decisions. I have a tendency to be rather indecisive.

That for me is a struggle. I have been a person with a lot of energy so my brain keeps wander away from what I'm doing. This was really a big problem when I was in school, but as i got older I manage to stay focus on the job I'm doing. Specially if the work is very stressful I manage to keep my brain focus much longer since nothing there will make it lose is since the work take all my brain power.
