The latest version of Firefox (version 52) which was released on March 7th has removed NPAPI plugins. By default, the RGR Plugin runs in Firefox as an NPAPI plugin and as a PPAPI plugin in mostly everything else. Without having to release a whole new plugin, I've modified the code of the play window to force Firefox to use PPAPI when running the RGR Plugin.

This solution works with Firefox but with a few issues:
-The actual game doesn't fit within the frame (it's probably appearing higher than normal)
-Netplay doesn't work
-You most likely have to update your Flash Player (which you can do here)

I'm hoping to fix the 1st issue and possibly the 2nd issue. The last issue most likely can only be fixed with a new RGR Plugin update. If any of these issues are too much to bear, then I recommend playing the games with Google Chrome.

In other news, the game chat is currently down but should be back up within a week. Also, my maintenance is mostly complete but not quite.

I'd Rather use google chrome to play in the RGR plugin instead of internet explorer, God forbid you put the RGR plugin in Internet Explorer if Google Chrome doesn't support it, I REALLY hate Internet Explorer because its got a lot of problems and plus it doesn't want to work right, i just hope you can fix the two problems soon, if not, then i'll use google chrome

Firefox has been having the 1st issue for a long while now, so it's not anything new.

I thought the plugin as a whole was PPAPI and not just when used in Chrome. We had a discussion where it was stated that NPAPI plugins were slowly falling off web browsers, so I'm surprised we only attended the issue for Chrome because they were the first to take them down.

As a side note, I'd like to say that Firefox isn't actually suited for the RGR, it consumes a lot of resources compared to Chrome, for example, and it's always been easier to play in Chrome. Things may have changed after I last used Firefox (I don't think I used it in 2016, so a lot of updates may have come throughout the months) but this thread says they maybe haven't changed much.

If you want. I suggest Opera Browser. It's not a resource hog like google chrome (but that's opinionated since a lot will say both chrome and opera are the same).

EDIT: Opera no longer works with the RGR plugin... so I guess we are stuck with Chrome or limited Firefox.

I'm having the same issue, but it only seems to be with the handheld games. It's most likely got to do with the site maintenance because of the error with the server.

You could just avoid this problem with vers 52 by installing vers 51 (use this link to go straight to download http://filehippo.com/it/download_firefox/download/d99c1d0401646345433d7ed174564a95/ ). This re-enables all plug-in's so hopefully this helps everyone .

Edit: Make sure you also turn off auto updates in your options to prevent going back to version 52.

Okay so I was wrong, Opera is still a compatible browser but you need to have Adobe Flash installed for it. Also, Firefox is still compatible until early 2018 according to this:
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Problems-with-add-ons-plugins-or/Why-do-Java-Silverlight-Adobe-Acrobat-and-other-plugins-no/ta-p/31069

You will need to install the Extended Support Release (and will still need to have Adobe Flash installed).

I was trying to play a game on Play.Rom.Online, but the game didn't play when I chose "Play Game In This Window" option. It told me "Couldn't find browser window" and that I needed to download the latest version of the RGR. I downloaded the recent version, but the game still gave the same message. "So I chose to play the same game on this website, and the game managed to work just fine here. I tried a different game on Play.Rom.Online with the In This Window option, and I still got the same message. So I chose "Play Game in Popout Window" and it managed to work just fine. I'm wondering if it's possible that the Firefox update means that you can't play games off that website in the browser anymore, and instead you have to use the popout window.

Davideo7 : I was talking with someone on vizzed staff about the plugin not working recently in Chrome because of Flash not recognized. Not sure if what I'm going to post was discussed in this thread, but with the latest Chrome, Flash is blocked by default, and it can be enabled.

To enable it go to this in the Chrome address bar chrome://settings/content.

Under Flash click the bullet for Allow sites to run Flash.

Unfortunately this has to be set 'Allow' for the RGR plugin to work, instead of 'Ask to activate + adding vizzed.net as an exception'.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
