Well,out of context or not,you do not make those statements unless you feel that way to some degree. Pewdiepie brought that on himself. He forgot that millions watch him (I do not know why,he is not that entertaining.) and hang from his every word. It takes a lot of time to build trust,but only a moment to lose it. Maybe J.K. Rowling was calling him out or I think she was just drumming up press for her books.

He also lost a deal with Disney for a jump scare series. Granted,it may have not been on the air long,and Disney is horrible to work for in general,but it would have launched him into mainstream success. Pewdie did this to himself. Rule #1 when it comes to being famous. Never say stuff that you cannot back up or never say stuff that will bite you in the @$$.

Now,I agree,J.K. Rowling probably should have kept her yap shut and enjoy the residuals from the movies and books and other merchandise. But I truthfully think she did it for press for her books.

Oldschool777 : I'll preface this with saying I don't actually watch PewDiePie. I'm just giving my two cents.

Firstly context does matter a lot especially in this scenario. With context it shows he wasn't being anti Semitic; but making fun of someone else entirely. On top of that I don't think he's responsible for his audience. He makes his content and if he does mature stuff on there then that's the demographic he targets. He can't control it if a bunch of kids decide to watch something that they'll take out of context or something that's too mature for them. He shouldn't have to change his content because of them. Aside from that I don't think his audience really cares about what he said since they know it's a joke. The only people that are upset are people that don't watch him and want to jump at the chance to get on the PewDiePie hate train or don't care to actually research what the issue was.

(I'm also not going to talk about this any further because I'm not debating on the crazy house forum).

Ok, first of all, I never thought I'd see such people as J.K. Rowling and Pewdiepie fighting on the Internet. That's kind of funny to me. Second of all, J.K. Rowling is not a nazi. I mean come on. Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds? I'm going to need more proof of that other than a picture of her in a nazi uniform that we don't know is even real. Third, Harry Potter looks nothing like Heinrich Himmler other than the fact that he has glasses. The facial structure and hair are completely different. Was this a joke thread?

Now,I agree,we need the whole story to make a decision. But at the same time,he is well known on YouTube and therefore he does have an obligation of sorts to be careful of what he says. Even if taken out of context,that will come back to bite you in the @$$. Nazis are not exactly joke material and you have remember people have been fired for a lot less than that. Like someone posts on their Facebook wall that their job sucks or their boss is a moron.

And wow,she actually thinks Hilary is intelligent? That is scarier than anything she ever wrote. What next,Hilary actually cares about people?

It was to make fun of J.K.Rowling's lack of looking into context about the whole PewDiePie situation and simply going off of the Wall Street Journal's out-of-context article. The fact she's in a Nazi uniform (It's photo-shopped) and the fact Harry Potter has glasses similar to Himmler was the entire joke.
