So the 25th anniversary title for Sonic the Hedgehog is coming out this spring for PS4 and Xbox One. I personally am really excited for it since it's the first Sonic game to be released for a Sony and Microsoft console since Sonic Generations came out in 2012. Another reason why I'm really excited for it is because Sega is finally going back to the classic days of the Blue Blur. What are your opinions on the game so far and are you excited for the release of it?

I'm pretty excited for it. Some are speculating there might not be too much new content, but I took it as a brand new game with just the remastered levels as a bonus. I certainly hope the new levels create a full-length game, but even so we shouldn't expect too much as far as gameplay time goes. Gotta keep in mind the original experience this game is trying to emulate was beatable in just a few short hours or less.

Anyway, I'm pretty hyped for the Special Edition with the 12" Sonic statue with the Genesis base. The collection itself is just as exciting as the game lol. That's why I'm also incredibly disappointed at the recent announcement that the game will be delayed until the end of SEPTEMBER. I was already anticipating May when I first pre-ordered this game, and now it's September. Anticipating release dates of these kinds of things so far in advance is like waiting for the year to end. 

I hate that part about the experience of excitement in general. Things you get excited about tend to be things that WILL happen. Waiting for the future is just waiting for one's own death. I wish I had more to be excited about in the present...

Sorry for leaking depression over your thread. We'll end on a high note: Sonic 2017 has also been announced to be named Sonic Forces. Perhaps this is to imply not just an appearance by classic sonic, but other playable characters? It could obviously just be alluding to the titicular characters, but hopefully "Forces" means many in this case. 

I believe it may be the spark of life Sonic needs to get back in the game, it's been one bad game after another save for exceptions like Sonic Generations. It's nice that SEGA is actually doing what NIntendon't and listening to fans and heck, fans are developing Sonic Mania which is surprising to me.

I can never seem to complete classic Sonic games, but this one still interests me. It looks a lot like Sonic CD, the only classic sonic game I ever did complete.

I'll definitely be getting it on PC if I don't have a Switch by the time it comes out. It looks really fun.

I need this game... I need it, and I don't think I'll look back getting it. It looks as good as Knuckles' Chaotix, which is a beautiful game for the surprising 32X, and it doesn't have the ring tether, and it has some of my favorite levels remade into that graphical style, which makes me excited to play through them again. I just hope the new content isn't bland or like a lot of other Sonic ROM hacks that I've played.
