Has anyone gotten into this show or plans on seeing it? Until a few hours ago I had no idea that this was actually a new show and that it was also premiering in English today.

The first episode just ended a few minutes ago and I dissected the hell out of it. It took me months of watching Kai every night to start liking it, but since I'm watching this from the start I think I might be able to used to it quickly.

I couldn't stop laughing near the beginning when the tractor was falling off the cliff and again in the supermarket.

What are your thoughts? Did you see the premiere or plan on seeing it?

I watched the sub version that started a year and a half ago or so (I think) and it's been pretty good. The first 20-30 episodes (I can't remember exactly) are basically fleshed out recaps of the 2 most recent movies but after that the story goes off into new stuff and is pretty good.

Definitely much better than GT but not quite as good as Z or the original. Still worth a watch though.

I'm sure I'll watch it eventually. I still plan on watching everything in order. Yes, even the original Dragon Ball series. I'm not even halfway done with it.

Lexaton: eh, if you do it like that, it wouldn't really be the same experience. By the time that you get to the point where you would start this sho, you would already be so far behind. It's much better to watch it As it's happening.

I don't really plan on watching the dub. Since its not really interesting at all. I dunno I just don't find dragonball interesting to me....

I attempted to watch the first episodes, but when I saw it was just the by then latest movie into weekly episodes I lost interest. Plus, those episodes were awfully drawn, so I decided to omit this series entirely and at most focus on the movies.

In my opinion, they've milked this series too much. They distorted the canon that GT had set 20 years ago, and all for the sake of money. Even if people disliked GT we cannot omit its existence, so this inclusion of new transformations all around, the new universes and godly powers is totally out of place.

But well, I've always felt like Dragon Ball was on a vertical drop from its legendary status after it began drifting away from its original spirit. It happened first on the games, when character customization didn't allow room for original characters that were left out or made unplayable, then the still hungry fanbase forced more movies to come out and also a new series, but since GT left the ending quite clear they had to circumvent that by totally altering the canon.

EX Palen : Were those movies good? If I hadn seen this show (obviously since it it jist came out) or the movies, which should I do? Should I get into the show or just wat watch movies and be done with it? What would you have done if you haven't seen the movies?

zanderlex : I haven't seen the latest movie yet, just the one that Super started with.

If you have the means to watch the full movie, then do so. There's no point in waiting weeks and even months for something you can watch in a couple hours. If you can't watch the movie, then go with the series.

The movies are quite alright, but condensed into a limited duration. The series dwell deeper in the background for filler episodes, and maybe the fights are developed quite a bit more than in the movie, but that's all.

Since I haven't seen the latest movie yet but I've seen the start of the series, I can tell I'm going for the movies. I see all that filler totally unnecessary, so I want to go straight to the events no matter what happened in between.

Yes, I plan on watching all of the episodes, movies and everything at some point. It's near the center of my list though, so that might still be a while. lol

I started watching it around about early December, but I have paused watching it for the time being. I have watched up to before the tournament between Universes 6 and 7, though, and I liked what I've seen so far, especially SSG.
