Jin Kazama is the son of Kazuya Mishima and Jun Kazama and has been quite a unique character in the Tekken franchise. Jin Kazama first made his video game debut in Tekken 3, since then he has carried on to be arguably the main hero of the franchise.

Like Kazuya, Jin himself also shares a Devil-gene meaning that he can transform into Devil Jin when times get rough. Jin's Devil form is unique as well because unlike Kazuya's true form, Devil Jin's appearance comes off as more of a Fallen Angel.

What makes Jin interesting is the fact that he is the only character in the Tekken Franchise to completely change move list and thus it lead to some difficulty for Namco to balance him out. During Tekken 3 after the events of Ogre transpired, Jun told Jin to seek out Heihachi. Heihachi recongized the true potential in Jin and trained him underneath the Mishima-ryu fighting style; this explains why Jin played a lot like Kazuya in Tekken 3.

From Tekken 4 to the current Tag Tournament 2. Jin hated the Mishima bloodline so much that he unlearned the Mishima fighting style, and adopted traditional Karate instead.

From Tekken 5 to current Tag Tournament 2. Fans could play the classic Jin with the Mishima-ryu fighting style through Devil Jin; Devil Jin basically played like a revamped version of his Tekken 3 counterpart.

Since Tekken 3, Jin has appeared in the following games:
Tekken Tag Tournament.
Tekken 4.
Tekken 5.
Tekken 6.
Tekken tag tournament 2.
And Namco has already confirmed him for the upcoming Tekken 7.

So, i have a question
Why did he hated the mishima family?
I play tekken a lot but never get into the backgroud of the characters, so if you made more thread like this, it'll be awesome dude

Well, this is the most extense character bio we could give without actually using spoilers.

When I got Tekken 5 DR for the PSP many years after last playing Tekken 3 I was heavily surprised by Jin's change in playstyle. The rest of characters almost had no changes, and seeing the separate entry for Devil Jin was awesome after that mysterious ending in 3.

You could have probably noted that Jin was taught Kazama-style karate in his youth before being trained by Heihachi. Some of those moves are still seen with Devil Jin, and most prominently in Asuka Kazama. And well, as of Tekken 6 he's not really a hero, he declared war on the world so even if he had good intentions it really shows that he's developing some kind of dark mind, probably being influenced by his Devil Gene.

I've loved Jin's flame-like pants since he debuted. Kind of a shame that it has changed color schemes over the series, the original orange marked a generation. Let's see if we can still have it in Tekken 7, either by default or through customization, because it can look bloodily awesome with the latest graphics.

skrt-lord : Heihachi used him as bait for Ogre and attempted to kill him once he had done his job. Since then, and after awakening his Devil Gene, he has hated himself and his paternal bloodline, so much so that he developed his own style of fighting in an attempt to start anew.

skrt-lord :

If you watch Jin's ending of Tekken 3(Which is the cannon ending btw) Basically Heihachi Betrayed and tried to kill Jin after he defeated Ogre.

I'll probably do more bio's on these guys down the road, but for the meantime I'd suggest trying out playing some of the tekken games because you can learn alot about the franchise as a whole.

EX Palen :

Well for me it depends on how you look at it, Sure Jin may have started a war but if he didn't then the force known as Azazel would've dominated the world.

I actually didn't know Jin was taught Kazama style karate in his youth, and sure Jun's moves are shown on Asuka Kazama but she's confirmed as Jin's Cousion so how she learned that fighting style is beyond me.

This makes me want to play Tekken again.....and what palen said is right. Even though I have stopped playing Tekken games I still remember Jins history and story within the game.. I really felt sorry for him, and I think because of his personality it grabbed peoples attention he then became popular, and still is one of the coolest characters around. Nice thread crash it was pleasant to read about.
