Early this morning, two of my better friends in my dorm were talking about what happened. As minorities, they were concerned about what would happen in the upcoming weeks. The longest they gave before they would be involved in something was a week.

One of them asked where they could find a drink.

A different friend found myself and another friend talking outside our dorm. She had come back from a house after she had drank her sorrows away. She wanted to know where my best friend was, as he is her "comfort" in the dorm.

I told her to go where they found a drink.

On my way out of the Auditorium where my computer science lecture is, I noticed chalk graffiti on the bricks of the pillar near the staircase.

I saw it, but it didn't make me feel any different.

I couldn't bring myself to go to calculus lecture today.

My Latin American Cultures class got cancelled today after 30 minutes of discussion.

We waited after the bell rang for the teacher to come into the class room. A few minutes after, she came through the door. Within 5 seconds of her beginning to talk about what we were doing today it was apparent we would not be in class long. She began by talking about our current topic - globalization - and how it affected Latin America based off of where we left off in the last class period. The class was normal for a little while, we talked about the effects of communism and how the United States effected the communist movements in Latin America. All of the sudden, we flipped to what happened on campus yesterday. A muslim woman was held at knife point by a man on one of the buses. What was sad is that we weren't shocked. After 30 minutes, she told us that we could leave, and one other student and I stayed ten minutes after so that she could get some of her concerns out in the open, rather than dealing with them on the inside.

There was a protest on the quad that I saw from afar. I didn't need to see what their signs said or hear what they were saying.

I already knew.

I texted my mother today, and I thanked her for the package she sent me. She sent back "You're welcome. How are you?" And I told her. My mother works for the government. She now, effectively, works for the president-elect.

She's distraught.

Tonight I told my friends, who love to party, that they should not go out this weekend.

They agreed.

An e-mail was sent to all members of my university today addressing what happened yesterday.

My specific college sent out an e-mail detailing places in which you could go and safely talk with someone.

Nothing very large has happened yet, but we all know that it's capable of happening. We've grabbed our friends and we don't let go of them. We try to go about our lives, but what happened is impossible to ignore.

What a first election.

I'm gonna sticky this.

Other people might block your opinion, because it doesn't fit the narrative they want to spin of a safe America.

Last night, I was followed for 10 minutes by Trump supporters, shouting to me that Trump won.

I am not a person who typically feels unsafe to walk the streets of my city at night. But now, I am. It is a less safe America than it was yesterday. And a lot of that might be our perception.

As someone who is in a minority (but can hide that minority, since it isn't as obvious as the color of my skin or gender), I have spent the past 24 hours living in total, and complete fear. I've never been this mentally exhausted.

It's not surprising to see protests, I saw the news oday and read about dozens of cities holding major protests. I didn't do much today, but I know that when I go back to class tomorrow, I'm expecting to hear and see a lot. We're talking about possibly massive changes to many people's lives and it's scary to think of what many others can and will say and do to those people.

I hope you guys will stay safe. There are a lot of crazies out there right now. With any and all hope it will die down shortly. Politically charged frenzies hardly ever last.

Then again, I'm a minority in my city. And things are pretty freaking unsafe half the time. But national safety hasn't been compromised. Although you do have buttflustered democrats and raging republicans out right now. This should be the polar opposite of how us as a whole should be handling the results of this election. It is sad that so few people know basic manners anymore.

Just wait all this out, and if you want, invite them over to your place for a get together or something.

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.

Tell me about it. People think this is made up and exaggerated. I've been very depressed about this not because he won, I don't have nothing personal against him but, what he started. A hatred during his campaign as a tactic to win over votes.

Not all Trump supporters are that way- I'll make that clear, some are stellar people who exercised their right to vote and do not feel the same way he does about minorities. I have friends and my boss who voted for him and are not racists. Well, my boss is questionable because whenever he is upset he'll make reference to me being Hispanic- though I do know he appreciates me as a worker and as a person, I do question if he has something against my culture from his many remarks that are not work related.

But the ones that are truly racists sadly seem to be a very large number. I often wonder about this place I live in and the messed up people in it and how they've hurt me for no reason just because I have an accent and I look different. There was a time when the same white cop would keep me from entering a movie theater; he'd just keep my friends and I outside while he greeted all the White Caucasians in and came in and kicked my friends and I out of the room because some white girls did not like to have Hispanics nearby. We were escorted out by cops and given a refund and made to leave the movie theater because we were Hispanic. I haven't gone back to that movie theater in a while I'd rather take an hour trip to the next IMAX theater- but, why should I? I pay taxes too- heck I pay a large amount of taxes to this government as a single woman. My tax refunds are a joke, I get back 1/3 of what a person working part time all year long would get yet I make less than $30k a year. So, why am I not able to be treated as equal in this country that I am a citizen from birth? It's sad.

There's an area in this town where Minorities are not allowed to come in at all- my nephew's grandfather (White) lives two minutes from it and there's no phone reception. My mother and I always prayed every time my sister would take my nephew to see his grandpa since he can't really drive and is ill- we'd pray she made it back safe and she'd call us until she reached that area and the call dropped...it was scary and really made us feel like our lives meant nothing. This town got so hectic when Trump came to campaign- I was so mad to hear he was here just minutes from my office. I hate this electoral college system I wish these candidates stayed very far away and used their tactics somewhere else because this town certainly does not need more fuel. It's sad when candidates promote this type of behavior. We are all unique and equal and should be treated as such.

I am just hoping Donald Trump sees the error in his ways and advocates for unity and does indeed turn out to be a great president and helps our economy. I would like to mention that Hillary Clinton was also advocating a division among men and women so that should not be easily overlooked either. These two candidates proved that they would go to great length to get what they wanted and that should have made us as a nation look for a better option than those two baboons. I am putting all of my hopes on him as it's all I can do.
