Life is many things. It's wondrous, troubled, detailed, simplistic, and much more. For some, mostly adults, Life feels too short because most of adulthood is spent bouncing off different jobs for years with varying degrees of sucess. Others might think Life is long because of all that goes on over the course of a single lifetime. What do you think?

The main reason why I believe life is long is because of how most people reach their 80s, sometimes even their 70s. Tons of health problems, heavy limitations... Mankind's lifespan just keeps increasing, but do we really need to live that long?

Honestly speaking, I'd rather die while I'm still an active adult instead of suffering the heavy agony that is the slow loss of my health and mobility. I've already spent seven years of my (still short?) life battling against something that menaces my health and well being, so the moment my age becomes another burden to fight against I'd call it my time to go.

Ultrajeff : life to me is too short the weeks, months and years go by so fast that sometimes I wonder where it all goes,a customer at my job who appeared to be in her 80,s said to me the other day "enjoy life while your young"and after she said that it made me realize how true that is because we never know what could happen later on in life

My answer will be from a Christian perspective. Life to me is short when you think about it. Time really flies. Some people live a long time over 80 years old. Others don't leave long that is just the way things are. But when you think the average human lives about 70 something years (again it depends on what country and environment you are in) 70 years in the terms of time is very short.  But also life is short looking at it from a Christian perspective. We are only on here for a short amount of time. We will either chose to accept Jesus or not. In my religion were we spend the rest of our life will be in heaven or the awful place. So our time on earth seems very limited.  Even if you do not believe in God time on here is very short.

It depends what you have done in your life, if you just waste it all without reaching out your dreams it can be long and boring life... But if you do the things you love and fight for them if you have to. Your life can be long and happy, or really fast and happy if there is lot of things that have happened in short time. My point is that it does not matter if your life is short or long, as long as you have done things you like. And the most important thing is that you don't regret the choices you have made even though they might feel stupid in some point, but in the end there is reward waiting you in the top of the mountain. Reach out to claim it.

It's both.

Life is too long, in that it gives us the impression it lasts forever, when it really doesn't. The life expectancy in the US is 79.3. I'm 24, so I've lived a little under 1/3 of my life.

When you put it into perspective, something long (like 79 years) is actually kind of short. I only have two more period of my life as long as what I've already experienced (most of which I've forgotten!).

It depends entirely on what you consider to be a "long" time. For me, if I live to 70, I'll consider that a long, complete, life.

To me, life is never too long. I never have enough time to do all the things I've ever wanted to do and I actually don't quite expect to ever be able to complete everything on my Bucket List, but I'm still going to do my best to use my time wisely. It always feels like everything starts and ends in the blink of an eye, so I've also learned to cherish every second because before I know it, it's all going to be over. In a way, I can see the end of many things before they even begin, so life has always felt too short to me. Everything was already this way for me ever since I was young, so I figured I just have to live life as fervently and joyously as I can; there really isn't any time to get bogged down in things like "depression" or "boredom."

Live like you mean it and remember to be happy!

Life is not really short or long but fast... really really fast. As a kid it's slow but when you hit 16 the years start going by like lightning. It's actually scary to think about it. Just yesterday I was 17 years old going to school with Davideo7. I'm now 28.... Before you know it I'll be 40 and wondering wtf happened with time and life.

Life is too short if you end it, and life is too long if you don't have any fun. Life is what you make of it, and so is your lifespan.

I think that life should be longer. Why?

Many ancient cultures have legends of something they call "The golden age" in which man nearly lived to become 1,000 years old. This actually is recorded in the Bible as a fact regarding some people.

As you can see, the age of humans steadily dropped off since Noah's flood and the Exile of Eden. The change in man's lifespan is more dramatic after the flood then before. There are a few scientific reasons for this, if you want to get into it. I won't since that's not exactly what the thread is going for.

But no way! I don't think that life is too short! Life was meant to be long, and full of blessings! Man was even supposed to be eternal at one point in time. In fact, I'm surprised we're capable of creating new offspring that will outlive us, yet our genetic complexity has not allowed us to maintain our own bodies eternally. This is one the biggest guffs I have with the theory of evolution. But if I keep talking about that, I'll go on forever.

Ultrajeff : Let me give my opinion on this.

I personally think life is too short. There are some days where time goes by really fast or others where it goes by really slow. It's just one of those moments where you get something new (whether it be a kid, car etc) and then all of a sudden the kid is an adult (Or the car is twenty years old) and you wonder where time went all of a sudden.

"Congratulations!! It's a boy. Twenty one years later. I'll take a pina-colada."

"Congratulations on your new 1996 Oldsmobile Bravada. Twenty years later. Thank you for trading in your 1996 Oldsmobile Bravada for a new 2016 Chevy Cruze!"

Those are just some examples of time going really fast and you wonder where it went all of a sudden. This can also be said for jobs where you get a job at a place like Menards or Blains Farm and Fleet and then you realize you had the job for ten years. As they always say "Life is short. Eat Dessert." Maybe someday in the future people will live forever (If not forever at least maybe two hundred years) but will something wipe us out (or the earth will completely blow up at some point) and send us the way of the Dinosaur? We'll probably never know what, if anything will wipe us out but the possibilities are endless with things such as disease and a meteorite being a very real possibility. Many people get their life cut short each day due to various things such as car accidents and diseases. Sakura: is one those people who had the possibility of having her life cut short due to leukemia and had to leave the board because of it so if a cure for cancer is an absolute must and should be made as soon as possible. I really like what you guys do every year to honor her. I think it is very sweet to honor her with posting especially since she had a decent amount of posts (It was somewhere in the 500's I think) I am still holding out hope that she comes back somewhere down the road but am not holding my breath on that but I am still hopeful. So to sum it up, life is waaaay to short and something should be made to make life longer if possible.

I think it is too long. Let me explain.

It is wonderful that  people can live upwards of 100 years, but I am thinking of the downsides here.
  • As you age, your body breaks down at an accelerated rate and you cannot do what you want or you need assistance. Now,while for some, that is not minded. Others, like my late grandfather, hated to be fussed over. He was an independent person and seeing him in his late years had to be hard on him.
  • When you start in your 30's or so,you notice your memory is nowhere as sharp as it used to be. It only gets worse to the point you cannot remember your family's names. That is an unfortunate side effect of aging and it is frustrating.
  • You would require more medical care and you will find yourself more often going to a doctor or the pharmacy.
  • The world continuously changes and by the time you are used to one way,you must use another way.
  • Your quality of life drops and that is hell on everyone.

Maybe I am a cynic here, but if I got to the point I could no longer care for myself,I would want a bullet in my head.

I feel like it's how people chose to live their life that will determine that.

Some of my friends who are in their 20's say they feel like is going fast, and i also know people who are older then that who says life is long and slow, i think it something that might change with age really, like on year can feel like 5 years to someone and it can also feel like a month to someone else, it really is different with each person or at least that what i think.

As for me, i really don't know what to say, i feel like i lived most of my 23 years of life so far but i can't help but feel that some years went by really quickly, so like i said i really don't know what to say here when it come to me.
