The two best beat em up franchises i played on the Genesis and SNES,so simple and fun,all you did was walk through different areas beating the heck out of everybody on sight, both games were very similar in gameplay and looks but which do you like most? for me it is Streets of Rage, all 3 of them on the Genesis, especially Streets of Rage 2,but the 3 Final Fight games on SNES are good too but i always preferred Genesis over SNES anyway

I'm not sure exactly on which one I like.
So I'll do a decision for both franchises and their respective games.
Streets of rage:
1 point for still being ported to newer consoles, and not just nintendo ones.
2 points for not leaving out any content.
1 point for having extra detail on the characters while idle(in Final Fight they just stand still)
3 points for gameplay each character is unique, has good combos, has mixed up combos you can do, and special attacks.
1 point, only one of the games actually bothered to get the plot and cutscenes done correctly.
Overall: Streets of rage scores an 8 out of 10 overall for me.
Final Fight:
-1 The Snes port of Final Fight was pretty bad,  It lacked Guy, A two player co-op mode, and a lot of other stuff was cut-out as well.
The Sega CD had a port of Final Fight, and it included everything that the SNES version lacked; so there's no excuses.
2 points good, solid gameplay.
Final Fight had good gameplay but even with Final Fight 3 the formula still felt outdone by streets of rage.
2 did good on the plot with cutscenes, pictures, and text explaining the overall situation in all of the Final Fight games.
(Streets of Rage 2 had cutscenes, but no text; you couldn't tell what was going on...)
______________________________________________________________________
Overall: Final Fight gets a 6 out of 10 for the entire franchise.
So overall I have to say Streets of Rage was better overall. I will always give Final Fight the credit it deserves for starting the beat'em up gendre, but Streets of Rage is far superior in almost every way(minus the plot).

Sadly I've played almost no Final Fight, so I have to default to Streets of Rage. Honestly though I'd probably go for Streets of Rage anyway because I have so many wonderful childhood memories with it. My sister and I used to play 2 (I think) all the time. She was Blaze and I was Skate. Man so many memories...

Of them 3 was probably the best, but 2 was good as well. The first one was good but the other two topped it easily. I felt like 3 hit the sweet spot with the special moves really.
I wish we could see a revival of Beat 'em Ups honestly. That's one of my favorite genres.

Streets of rage was and is my favorite. I really liked Streets of Rage 2 that beat em up was very fun to play and even the enemies were awesome. Sadly in my opinion Streets of Rage 3 wasn't that bad but not that great. I sometimes think that the third entry killed the franchise. But enough of that. I played the first streets of rage and the second. Those are very gun games. So I say Streets of rage was groovy

I like both series, honestly. Streets of Rage has a deeper moveset, but Final Fight was nicer to look at and you had far more threats on screen. The arcade version of Final Fight was brutal in the later stages, especially the boss, who fired his crossbow like a machine gun. I agree that the SNES version of Final Fight was not good, but it was in the beginning of the 16 bit era, they were learning. I think they even made a Guy-centric version on the SNES and it was through Blockbuster. (remember them?)

I'd say streets of rage games. Because I never played Final fight really. Streets of range 1 to 3 was my up most favourite game to play all time, every game has their quirks I am sure final fight is a good game as well. I just choose streets of rage over it because its a game I already well know about.
