In the tdv do you post with friend and have fun? or just post solely for the competition?

So guys I was talking to my one of my besties aka Zlinqx. Also a post reply in the tdv also helped to create this thread. So when the tdv comes some people like it some don't. What do you do to try and make the best out of the tdv month despite how it is? Do you post with a friend and have fun? Meaning don't care for the competition whatsoever and have a catch up posting spree with friends. Also with friends who haven't really been active as well. Do you do that? or.....just post solely for the competition? Collect as many jerseys don't care who's way you get in order to get them, and this wouldn't really count as much having fun to me. It may be to most or some people that I am not sure on. Anyways so what do you guys do in a tdv considering these questions?

Since I'm rather competitive when I want to be, I sometimes post a bit more just because of the competition. But I usually just post when the thread is interesting to me or I have something to say.

However I do try to compete as fairly as I can and let some people have their fun with the competition too. I'm not competing to make everyone angry :v. Posting with a friend is also rather fun but most of my friends tend to do that after the TdV.

I post entirely for the competition.

I still try to keep up on posting in the places I would anyway, but as far as spreeing goes, that's entirely competitive. I guess I fall under the category of "don't care who's way I get in to win" because that's more or less the point of competing in the first place. I don't really have that many friends I'm close with on the site anyway, so there's very few instances of me actually "stepping on their toes" when I'm trying to win Jerseys. I think another user here said it best a while back ( and I'm paraphrasing here ) "it's not really a competition if you handicap yourself to let others win."

I will say one thing. In the early days of the TDV, when things were uber competitive, these things were one and the same.

That is to say, you almost had to spree with other people in order to be competitive. The day where I had my best TDV day, I was spreeing with Nksor and a couple other friends, who refreshed threads over the course of the day to give me a helping hand (since back then, you needed to post in the same thread multiple times, just to compete).

Now, thankfully, they have rules preventing that. Saves everyone a little time and energy.

At this point, I only post when I find something I want to post about. I've been struck with inspiration recently but it is entirely unconnected with the TDV.

I just do it without knowing why half of the time, kind of like today. One thing led to another and then I realized I'm unconsciously leading two jerseys.

It's not a bad thing though since it's a nice way to pass the time, a nice way to train my fingers and make a lot of Viz. It's pretty noice, actually.
