In a household setting, cleaning is very important. It's important to keep the place decently clean, as it would be somewhat disgusting if the house was left dirty. However, I have to deal with a filthy household often. The clothing is out of place, plates are left dirty, the house's items are mistakenly misarranged, and I have to clean up the mess. It's annoying. It's like my siblings haven't learnt to clean things up. It's annoying.

Do you clean up by yourself? Do you clean up after siblings? What is it like? How often must you do it? Thanks for your dedication.

I used to be terrible with cleaning up after myself. I now appreciate the sense of tidiness and how important it is for things to be in their place. Keeping things clean and orderly is easy when everything is put away. The only shortfall I have is my office at work.

But, I have an almost three year old and a 10 month old. It is a constant struggle to keep things in a modicum of order. We play the clean up game and I'm teaching them how to pick up after themselves but at the end of the day, my wife puts them to bed and I rip through the house keeping things in the right spot.

Tossing everything we haven't used in six months helps a lot. Fewer possessions means we have less to pick up and put away.

Sidenote: I like doing dishes at work and keeping the kitchen clean. It brings me joy to provide that for my workmates. They know I do it and they're appreciative.

Yes....and its annoying when that happens. I don't mind cleaning up, but it doesn't hurt too much to clean your own plate its not nice when someone goes and messes up your kitchen for one reason or the other. Which would also make it hard to keep things clean. When I see something on the floor or on the ground I make sure to put it in the bin, or in its correct place. :/

I live in a house of 7, so yes, I do a lot. And I'm used to it, and can clean things up pretty quickly!

Yep, I usually clean up by myself because there are certain ways I go about cleaning everything that both reduces the amount of effort required and gets the job done more quickly and efficiently. Suffice to say, I used to do everything because I was considered the brawns of our group. I carried what no one else could carry (groceries, kids, furniture, pretty much anything, sometimes all at once) and did what no one else could/would do (catch the bugs, mow the lawn with a lawnmower that even the guys couldn't start much less use -.-0 , trimmed the trees with a sword, etc.).

However, given a choice, I would prefer cleaning up with other people. It really is more fun to work as a team and there's a greater sense of satisfaction and accomplishment when we gather together at the end of the day to celebrate a job well done.
