I have accomplished just about everything that there is to physically "accomplish" on this site.

I'm not huge on goals, anymore, especially now that I've mellowed with age, but I do find myself curious about something.

Is there something you believe I've yet to accomplish? If so, what?

Is there something I should aspire to?

Give me a goal, for Vizzed.

Only two things you're somewhat close to are 1000 threads and 2 million words.

1,000 threads would be neat, and I could accomplish it in 2017 if I so chose, to. Hell, I could accomplish it by the end of 2016 if I worked for it (don't think I'm about to, though).

It helps when you are staff, because there's a lot of stuff to post about in mod forums, but for now, it's mainly the every now and then s*** post.

2,000,000 words will definitely happen.

I'm not sure when, but it will. It's the one thing I really want to accomplish before I inevitably vanish.

Maybe it's best to treat the site less like a place to earn achievements and more like a community anyway.

I used to be really interested in seeing how light usernames could become, since the color of one's username becomes gradually lighter and lighter the more posts one makes. Since it seems it hits a cap at some point, that interest is gone, I guess. I wanted to have a blindingly bright username someday.

Yeah, that's been my attitude for a lonngggg time, but still, it's nice to have goals of some kind.

And there is a bit of a cap, otherwise, I don't know how you can explain how my username and yours look similar enough. I mean, nothing on you, but based on what the thing is coded for my username should be a zillion times brighter lol.

legacyme3 : At the end of the day, geeogree and Davideo7 are still beating you in post exp. Do you have aspirations of beating them and become number one?

Nope. I could do it, but it would take too much time to be worth it. I passed geeo for like a year or so, but then faded out. It's neat, but not worth it to chase that.

They've been around since the very beginning, and I showed up relatively recently, so I mean, it's not like I'm disappointed about it.

I'm with Nksor: on this one. It's one thing to be a newbie and try to hit a few different goals when it comes to volume. At this point, you're so heavily involved in the community, emotionally and otherwise, it should be finding new ways to get other people to participate. It shouldn't be how many threads or posts you can put up because that will lead to spamming.

It should be something attached to how many threads can you create to get more than 7 unique posters. So, two people going back and forth don't count.

Try that on for size.

To your surprise, you are still alive. You could have sworn the shoes were right on top of you a second ago. Could that Wild Leggy standing by you have something to do with why you're all the way out here, still safe and sound?



Actually, if you go back and look through Leggy's posts and threads, you'll find that he's already completed a lot of the "finding new ways to get other people to participate" activities. Hint: Stroll through this Town and look through his 20+ games including the Mafia games/threads. There were wayyy more than just 7 unique posters. It seems to me that he's also already met a lot of the goals he wanted to accomplish while he was doing that, so he's probably looking for something a little bit different, maybe even off the scale... but whatever it is, he will probably not allow it to interfere with his current lifestyle.

I briefly considered suggesting reaching a few syndromes like "Lucky 777 Syndrome" or "VIZZED Syndrome," but that might really be too much work and too difficult to pull off at this point in time... unless you feel like you're up to it, Ghostbear1111? We will cheer for you... (since you don't seem like a spammer to me).

EDIT: I just realized you probably have no idea what I meant when I said "Wild Leggy." lol If you look in the pic at Leggy's name, it looks a bit different from normal names.

I can definitely say those syndromes are of no interest to me. Back in my most active days, I was the first to hit Veneeval+, and that was with a super active site.

I do not believe Lucky 777 or Vizzed Syndromes to be physically possible while not spamming.

One thing I really hate about the site (no offense) is the stat padding of post counts, trust points, vizzes... at the end of the day you only become relevant on the memberlist with those achievements. Deep down no one really cares or gives a damn unless you are bragging about who has most then maybe people begin to care.

My only advice is to visit the site to catch up with friends and what not. If you see a thread that interests you post in it but don't post in it just to up a statistic. It's a waste of ones time to post here all day chasing big numbers that mean absolutely nothing. I refuse to participate in things like the TdV because everyone is in a mad rush to up some sort of useless statistic just so their name gets highlighted.

While high post count may mean one is dedicated it is also a good indicator that you may have no life

Relax and consider yourself retired like myself and probably like geo. I'm sure all three of us are in similar frame of mind when it comes to this issue. At this point, I think we are here for nostalgia reasons more than anything.

I've been doing that the past couple years, but I've begun to find it difficult to communicate with friends, since the majority of people on this site are under 18 (which is pretty much a deal breaker for any level of friends. Nothing against anyone under 18, but it's rare to find someone of that age with the maturity I need to consider them a friend).

I think you hit it on the head when you say we're here for nostalgia purposes. I haven't ruled out a return to moderating down the line, because who knows, maybe I can do that so others can actively enjoy the community. We're the last remnants of old generations of users. You and geeo more so than me, but still, we come from a different time, I feel, in what a board means to us.

legacyme3 : Yeah, I tried to do the math for those syndromes a while ago during the last TDV and it was sort of crazy. lol With the current rules, I'm not sure it's possible to make it to Veneeval+ either, even if we did some borderline spamming. I did have an idea as to how to reach those syndromes now, but the actual execution stage will seriously hurt and maybe take a few years off of your life. If anything, it'll probably be more fun to just gather a group of people together to set all of the Forums on fire... for every day during a TDV. But I'm sure you can imagine how well that's going to go. lol

Not sure I'm the one who has donated the most, but I have donated an awful lot to users over my time here. I've had instances where I've given 10,000s of Viz to newbie users, for no real reason.

But you can have some Viz too... maybe...
