I heard about it a little over week ago, It seems almost like an insult to Metal Gear to me. It looks like they are just capitalizing on it to make money, and thy're just copying the survival-horroer genre it seems. I think it's going to almost kill Konami to be honest.

It will be interesting to see how the game is handled. They're using the Fox Engine to drive the game and the mechanics are similar to what was used in Metal Gear Solid V, so the fan boys will run to it again. That's no big deal. It's like every few months a new Madden is trotted out, or more Call of Duty, and everyone drops their fifty bucks without complaints.

The other aspect you have to look at is the game is being marketed more as a side mission and not a full-play game. I've read a few publications that say it isn't going to be full priced since it doesn't have the same depth and breadth of the other titles.

Will it flop? Maybe but the name is enough to encourage sales.

Will it kill Konami? Absolutely not. This is a tiny blip on their radar and they're just putting it out there to test the market for less-expensive, under-developed mini-games. That's what this is. No more.

Konami deserves the backlash. They let Hideo Kojima go(the man responsible for Metal Gear),did not acknowledge or allow him to attend a industry event,and now they are coming out with this piece of crap. And EA keeps churning out money makers, one title at a time.

I really don't care about what they did to Kojima as long as they make a good game.

Oh, I do, big time!! They're doing what they did to Castlevania, now to metal gear. They only want to make money be making it so that it's another generic game of a genre that's popular today, and give it the name of one of their legendary IPS so that more people will be attracted to it.. It's going to fail commercially SO BAD, because hundreds of people aren't okay with this and there's already tons of backlash, with the like to dislike ratio on it's reveal trailer on Youtube being heavily in the latter.

Vanelan : That's your opinion, and I respectfully disagree. Metal Gear is my favorite franchise from Konami because of the characters and stories. I don't want Survive, because it's taking a man's  engine that he worked hard on, to make ANOTHER zombie game.

Vanelan : Yes I would. The Fox engine can do incredible things (as shown by P.T.), and Konami is currently using it for a Pachinko game based on one of my favorite games, and Metal Gear Survive. I find this to be a joke, and I can't imagine what Hideo thinks of the company right now, other than pure hatred.

People who don't know about the MGS series may find some appeal, but to the vast majority of fans this thing won't cut it.

Honestly, it seems like a cash grab with the MGS name attached to it. If it ends up being decent, then I might be interested in it...however, considering that it's Konami we're talking about, I don't trust them to make a decent game out of this.
