I'd like to wish a happy birthday to what I believe was the best console on the market. According to this, it was released here on August 23, 1991. Now some of these sales figures are probably too low, but I don't know whether they stop recording after a console has been discontinued or not. If they don't, I expect the sales number for SNES to be in the hundreds of millions by now. Anyway, I'm going to post an article about it. And again, SNES, all of us gamers still love you.

Wow.....I'm so freaking old. Going back to the days I used to have one and Super Mario Kart was my first every play on the snes its a great console back in its days. It makes you to think memory lane wise of how popular it was before uh....the downfall in a way. Happy 25th birthday snes may you continue to shine in the light for many years of those who adore you.

It's probably because we were kids in our formative years but I can't imagine the number of hours I spent as a young man playing SNES. The SNES is easily the best system ever. It has a diverse selection of games before everything became first person shooters or clones of Pokémon and it had a wonderful, made-for-friends multiplay ability for most of the titles.

Even games like Final Fantasy IV could be multiplay. You could plug two controllers in and simultaneously fight a battle and control the action. That's awesome.

The sports games, specifically Ken Griffey, Jr, Baseball and the NHL series were awesome. Football didn't become a real player until PlayStation.

SNES changed everything from music and scores and sound effects to visual effects to how games were made.

I agree. It is the most important, the most revolutionary, the best console in its time and for all time.

Happy birthday!

Dang,it has been 25 years since the wonderful SNES?! That was a system that brought so much joy into an owner's life. Such classics as Super Metroid,Final Fantasy 3 (6 would be the true number.),Mega Man X,Rock 'N Roll Racing,Turtles In Time among others. Happy Birthday SNES!

The SNES is still my favorite system. In my opinion its the best video game system out there. The SNES was that good it had amazing graphics and gave us lots of classic games. Who could forget Super Mario World, Super Mario All Stars, Donkey Kong Country I, 2 and 3. Yoshii's Island, Mega Man 7, Mega Man X, X2 and X3. In addition, you could by the Super Boy and play old game boy games on the Super Nintendo.

I miss the SNES in my opinion we won't see gaming like that again. I remember when it first came out too. I remember getting one for Christmas and how excited I was
